Hi! So we started from our house at around 11:45 at night. Reaching the pick up point at 12:00. The bus came around 12:30 and we reached the trekking point by 3. We need to wait here till the forest department checks and approves permits, and by 4:30 we started the skandagiri trek. We reached the top by 5:45 - 6 and you will see the beautiful sunrise. You can come down by 8 after spemding some good time at the top, and count 3-4 hours from there to reach back home 😊
Hi. So we booked the whole trip via ban Banjara. They arrange the transportation as well. Otherwise it is difficult to get there by public transport, either you should self drive or pre book a taxi or transportation. But if you go through the agency, they will pick you up from your nearest station and drop you as well. Which is actually cost effective and comfortable too.

You can get your tickets from www.karnatakaecotourism.com/treksdetail/TRK130 You will need to pay only for the trek which is I think on week days 250 and on weekends 650. But u have to reach the trek point by yourself. And we saw many people come by thier own car at the point. Not a big deal. If you drive a car, you can do it. 2. If you book through agent - the agent will pick you up from some specified points, they will share the route map with you, you can come to the nearest point from your residence. They will drop you as well. There is no use of guide as such, coz the path is well defined and trust me there will be 200 people already there, so you don't really need guide, but the charges they will charge is kind of fine only because they will cover the transportation too, get permits for you, and tickets as well. You just have to sit, complete the trek enjoy and come back 😊 We went through ban Banjara, who also gave free complementary breakfast. I'd advise against it, some portions can get a bit steep and slippery, especially with the current weather conditions. That trek is best done early morning (starting at 4a, when I last went) to catch the sunrise and it's quite dark and desolate at night. Someone from the forest department will meet you before you begin the trek (needs a booking), they might not allow you.
