I don’t believe Pattinson’s character deserves that level of doubt/scrutiny regarding his POV, especially during the more grounded section of the movie. He’s just a prickly/despondent smartass tortured over causing/failing to prevent the death of someone he’s now impersonating. I don’t think that warrants treating him as an unreliable narrator whose most mundane actions are not to be taken at face value, especially when Willem Dafoe’s character is such a clear sadistic nutcase who obviously gets a kick out of fucking with the guy’s head. It’s like that Wendy theory in The Shining. The whole “Maybe Pattinson’s character is the loonie” may be a fun thought exercise, but I feel like trying to present it as a viable reading of the movie is stretching “interpretation” just to make the movie appear more ambiguous than it really is.
Thank you for the stream guys! A good time was had.
Please get an EFAP person or two for your review of The Northman and/or Nosferatu. 🙏
Unfortunately I missed the Christmas movie discussion but, I'd *HIGHLY* recommend "Fatman" 2020

Gate & Lay!
What's that painting called? The one of the judgmental light.
Do you mean the panopticon thing?
@OpinionatedMeerkat That's right, the one with the guy grabbing another guy's arm and shining the light in his face
As a fan of Lovecraftian horror, I was expecting to be disturbed by this movie...needless to say I was.
I just regret watching it with my parents.🫣
Watching it with my dad and getting to that scene where Willem Dafoe is cranking it at the top of the lighthouse was definitely a trip
