    Glen, Interesting Bread Loaf anvil and use. Bolting it down really helped with the ringing. Thanks again for taking the time to bring us a demo and how you use your unique tool set on the task at hand.

      Sonny, Just the very simplest solution to not have that anvil jump around too much. I will eventually make a different stand for it. Thanks for everything.

      These small anvils I have suit me and my work space well. Yes, at it's core, blacksmithing is very basic - just trying to reshape steel / iron when in a plastic state. Tooling can be as simple or as complicated as one wants. Thanks.

    • @gstongs

      I think this arrowhead is a fair size or at least, as you say, it would get the job done. After doing this, I watched some other (better) arrowhead making videos and I can see that my steps were probably not ideal. Still, I had fun. Thanks.

    How do you deal with surface rust on your anvils them being out on a patio

    • @Ms.Nightshade
      @Ms.Nightshade 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The patio may have a roof and/or gutter above it to redirect the water. That or most of the anvils are rust resistant. That’s my guess anyways, could be wrong.

    • @gstongs
      @gstongs  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just constant use really helps keep rust at bay. And I frequently spray stuff down with WD-40. Thanks.

    • @gstongs
      @gstongs  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I'm outside but under a covered area. However anvils definitely rust but the scale, grease and grime of normal use help to prevent that from happening. Thanks.
