I understand what you're saying and don't want to be an internet dick but you actually can do a coleman slide in case you need to stop fast and it's fairly effective. He does a couple of small ones to control his speed at some point in the video.
Learning a million ways to stop effectively should come before learning skills. Pro skateboarders are the ones who know how to stop without being hurt. Always learn to stop and be safe first over everything else. The first thing I did when I got a skateboard was learning ways to stop. And if you fall just roll out of it and curl your chin towards your chest to protect head.

A normal skateboard is really bad for going above 25mph or so, the trucks are meant to turn quickly at low speeds in parks so they are way too twitchy for going fast, plus the wheelbase also contributes to that. Overall a park setup is just horrible for going fast, there's a reason this guy is using a longboard and longboard trucks.

I have yet to understand how a cheetah can possibly run this fast.
This is 70 miles per hour cheetahs run a little faster then that but in kilometres an hour that's quiet a bit slower

according to google cheetahs can reach 74mph
But a cheetah can only run at its maximum speed for like 20 seconds because its brain will heat up and explode. Cheetahs are fast, but only for a short while.

This guy is a pro. With 300-500$ trucks. A special deck. Expensive ceramic bearings. Super fast downhill wheels. And of course Venom bushings. This is all guesses except for the bushings. But I Longboard and can hit 45-50mph fairly easy. But that's life flashes before your eyes fast. But to hit 70mph is off the chain. Without leathers. Hell no. But it is Zak Maytum. Soooo. It's actually less than I thought. 70 mph is about 30 metres per second. Probably the wheels are about 70mm, that's kind of standard for a longboard. So the radius is 0.035m. Angular velocity is linear velocity divided by radius, so 30 / 0.035 ~ 860 rad/s. 860 / (2pi) * 60 ~ 8200 rpm.
ceramic bearings are common now for the lack of friction/max speed possible with boards, skates, etc. What if they fractured?? Hope they are high quality, and the company has a great QC dept...

Yes, but when you hit the ground, you're moving directly perpendicular to it. If you fell of this longboard and hit the road, you'd be nearly parallel to the ground. That makes a world of difference, and there's a very good chance you wouldn't be killed. Still, don't do it… at least not without protection.

At 55 miles per hour on a bicycle on a Florida to Seattle trip I put my breaks on in the Ozarks of Missouri but my friend went full blast probably up to 70. I figured he was gonna die that day. I figured if he went off the side in a crash, id never find him that far ahead of me. 1995 that was. Crazy trip. 43 days 3100 miles.
The record speed is now around 90mph, previously being around 86mph

I myself lived in Colorado Springs, I had loads of fun going to my workouts on a bike, all downhill as well, but going back home after my workouts was a pain in the butt.
