    Really enjoy my GI FS. Only use it as a range fun gun, and it does the job admirably. Bought it used, put new springs in it, and it has run perfectly for me.

    Have a great friend that went through the gunsmithing school in Colorado years ago. He said when he graduated; John Moses Browning was a genius, and no one can top what he did with the 1911.

    Just purchased one of pistol at Sarco, Inc. in Easton, PA. I have 300 rds through this pistol without a problem and very accurate. I owned a Springfield Armory GI 1911 in 45 ACP. The Rock Island is just as accurate as the Springfield. Great pistol!

    I call the RIA factory wood grips "pallet wood" grips LOL, because it looks like they might've used slats off pallets to make them. It's not a stretch to think they might actually do this. I like them because they're easy to clean, and can be sanded and varnished to mimic any wood color you like. The 1911 design is such a good design it's hard to screw it up as long as the parts are made at least halfway decent. And RIA does a superb job, and their pistols run like a champ.

    I like it especially as an entry pistol to use to get good at handling and maintenance then get a more pricey version, but i think it's beautiful love it in black maybe with a stainless trigger and hammer nice pistol for the price

    Easiest way to mould a leather holster that doesn't quite fit,,,,
    Throw the holster in a bucket of warm water then wrap the handgun in around 4 layers of cling wrap. Then remove the holster from the water and insert handgun into it. Let dry naturally over a day depending on weather temperature

    Hey there! I really appreciate you showing the sights, as no matter where I looked, i couldnt find and image or a video of it. I almost didnt wanna buy it for the sights because I thought they were like you described with the front sight filling the back, but since its got space in the back, im far more confident buying one. Hopefully gonna get the 10mm soon. Thanks!

    Nice video thanks for sharing I really have been looking at getting the officers model in the 9mm I have the GI like yours in 45acp I love it but I have a skeletonized hammer and trigger which it actually has a hex screw that you can tighten and loosen up if you need to adjust it kinda surprised me that you don't have it on yours but I'm sure that once you have it for a while you'll figure out what you need to do to stop it from being a Loosey Goosey other than that minor thing everything else works well with it?? Sorry for a bunch of questions but I am really interested in getting 1 chambered for 9mm just picking your brain little bit to see what your overall opinion is?? Thanks

      Yes Armscor/Rock Island Armory have lots of 1911 variants in many calibers. I think your 45acp is not a base model if it has skeletonized trigger and hammer, this 9mm in the video is gi fs which is the base model for 9mm.

      @DCopp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Having owned both brands, I cannot agree. RIA is made with forged frames on old Colt equipment. I think the Tisas are cast frames. There have been reports about improperly hardened slides from Tisas that deform from the slide stop as well. I no longer own a 1911 so take that for what it's worth. I do own a Tisas PX-9 though. SDS is not a manufacturer either, they are an importer. Tisas makes the gun.
