As an ophthalmologist i think the worst issue with high myopia is the thinning of choroid leading to macular atrophy and CNV. With axial length over 30mm the likelihood of developing severe form of myopic macular degeneration is almost 75%

Dr Chai, when you consider My-Sight's multi-refractive system, or Ortho-k with peripheral defocus, have you considered that perhaps the inside surface the lens is simply being strained to a point it's not in the correct curve to match the retina's curve. If we could correct the lens shape, maybe with cantilevers on the muscles, it might be a good preventative fix?

I am seeking treament with atropine for myopia as an adult yet NICE guidelines make it off label do you feel it is beneficial for adults , I will keep trying . Catarcts the shearing force of elongated eye ball is greater making the proteins crosslink easier . There are a lot of treatments being prevented because of profiteering in plastic IOL , Ledinbio endinborugh start bup and at least 20 formulas plant extracs and other solutions which could reverse cataracts and not getting to clinical trial in humans . Have you heard of yoga exercises for the eyes? My eyes became perfectly fine with yoga.
