A scrum in rugby is a method to restart play after a minor infringement. It involves the forward packs of both teams, who bind together in three rows and push against each other. The key steps are: 1. Formation: Eight forwards from each team form a tight, three-row configuration. 2. Engagement: Teams crouch, bind, and push on the referee's command. 3. Yes, South Africans play with passion and are physically active. However, other teams are just as physically active as the South Africans. The Tongans and Samoans are good examples. The British Lions v Boks is usually a brutal, physical battle. No one holds back. All teams have very physical players.
Number 14 and 11 are the fastest men on the field. They are called wingers because they are the last guys in the back line, left and right. 12 and 13 are centers because they stand in the center of the back line - inside and outside center. 15 is the full back: the last line of defense and the last guy to join the attack. 10 is the flyhalf (quarter back) and, just like in NFL, he is the pivot.

You said American Football and Rugby are "little different rules wise". Mate, an average professional American football game lasts 3 hours and 12 minutes, but if you tally up the time when the ball is actually in play, the action amounts to a mere 11 minutes. 11 minutes! A rugby match is sometimes 1hour and 40 minutes long (including a 10 minute break at half time) but the ball is in play for AT LEAST 1hour 20 minutes. Comparing Rugby to American football is like comparing MMA fighting to building a snowman. The rules of Rugby and NFL are nothing alike, different games. AFL players couldn't last 2 minutes in a rugby match. FACT!

Now react to The most feared rugby team in the world The All Blacks. South Africa are the world champions but the titles of videos are not always telling the truth. When you ask what is happening, it is a scrum. That is a method of restarting the game after an infringement. From this developed the line of scrimmage in NFL, yes American Football derived directly from rugby! Think touchdown, in NFL you don’t have to but in rugby you still do. American Football is totally different from rugby, one is a series of short plays to gain yards and the game stops after a tackle etc. The other, rugby, is designed to be a continuous flowing game where a tackle doesn’t halt the game and you can compete to gain the ball and launch your own attack. You need to watch a video of the laws of rugby which will tell you so much.
Thanks for taking the time to explain this! I can’t lie, I enjoy rugby more than american footboll, just based on these highlights alone. I will check out the New Zealand rugby team 🤝 Thanks for the suggestion 🙏

its called a scrum....its a test of strength
in addition to what others added a scrum also wins penalties
That side-step was not smooth but street smart, its using your pace to out maneuver your opponent without your opponent able to touch you. Playing touch rugby and sevens rugby enhance your skills
Number 1 Baby🎉🎉🎉
