I could listen to Rob for hours. Always interesting, informative and whilst obvoiusly biased he can be brutaly honest.

Everton away in the League Cup, (great atmosphere at a proper football ground), the Bury game Rob mentioned and Bristol City away in early February, (last minute KP goal the day I realised we couldn’t be stopped )were highlights for me.

My favourite memories of that period was the “Cheer up Peter Reid” song being sung around the SoL after we clinched promotion.

After failing to go up with ninety points then having the final snatched away the previous season the defining moment was the one-nil away win at second-placed Bradford. It was not a great game but after scoring Quinny ended up in goal we never looked like dropping any points and it put us eighteen points clear. and it was going to take a miracle to stop us from there. . . .The cherry on the top was at Barnsley Sumerbee put us in front just before the break. Nobody went for relief or refreshments
, We stood and sang We're on our way for the full fifteen minutes. I was right in line with Super Kev's curling winner which clinched the game and the title.
I brought two high-end bottles of bubbly. which I sank with a mate in his Bradford pub after the doors were shut. Some night that was.
Thought the record points would stand for some time. Reading beat it don't know if they beat every team at least once as we did.

How’s Rob Mason doing, long time no see…. Where’s your curly hair gone 😁.
You’re too far away for me to call in for a cuppa now.
    Take care mate
