    I had your 3d files printed and did this on my S10 pro. Work great. Just FYI I was able to 2.5mm tube and used a small tube bender. Anyway thanks!

    Atomstack website says in the x7 features: "Air assist system (Launches at the end of February, need to be purchased separately)"
    So there will be an official solution for this problem as well.

      Thats good… but to be honest, a big part of getting these “toys” is so i can mod and experiment with them.

      @@SwoodyCraft Air assist kit is 110$.
      It includes a small compressor, which is probably the main reason for that high price.

    Is that 152, 153 mm tubing include the bent portion of the tube or just the straight portion after the bend? Great video. I'm working on adding it on my x7 Pro as we speak.

    • @SwoodyCraft
      @SwoodyCraft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats the entire length of the tube (including the bent part).
      I used it for 4 or 5 hours yesterday, worked great. Small little darkening on nozzle, but it was all blown char, no damage at all.

    What would stop me from simply removing the guard (obviously I'd need to take any and all additional appropriate safety measures) and simply putting a fan next to the machine? Would that work?

    • @SwoodyCraft
      @SwoodyCraft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      From what I've seen you can, but it has a very minor improvement to quality. Its better than nothing, but very minor in comparison to targeted air assist.

    Great work! The combination of the screw channel method from "Tehnical Driver, Rmc-Reloaded" and the K40 Lens tube type looks great! But: With the lens enclosured in this way never ever run the laser without running the pump. The lens will overheat and crack. I speak from experience... :-(((

    Why can't the 20 W filter work instead of the 50 W - I know it's a lot more gallons per hour not he push of air, but does it really need that much air flow?

    How can I order this? Does Thingiverse print and ship like Shapeways or do I need to upload it there?

    • @SwoodyCraft
      @SwoodyCraft  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't believe that they do any printing. You would probably have to either upload to shapeway or ask someone to print you one if you know anyone with a printer near you.
      Maybe see if any viewers live near you. If your anywhere near south texas i can.....

    Do you recommend the 20w or 32w air pump?

    • @SwoodyCraft

      I think the smaller will probably be fine, the small focus seems to make extra pressure not terribly necessary.

    I have an M50 module arriving next week and was considering the best way to go about this. I have no qualms about drilling holes in the thing though :) I think pushing air through a long 2mm OD tube (what is the inside dia?) is just adding too much resistance to air flow for my low pressure aquarium pump (looks a lot like yours). Fine if you have a high pressure pump like an airbrush compressor though. You might have designed the nozzle to accept a brass 6mm threaded 3D printer nozzle, drilled out to larger diameter it makes for an easy to replace part that isn't going to melt. I find when cutting plywood you get a lot of spatter from hot resin/glue which can block or burn the end> flic.kr/p/2mZSAsV You also need to be able to gain access to the lens on a regular basis for cleaning if you ever run it without the air assist on. Nice job though hope you are happy with the result.

      I am actually in the middle of designing a new nozzle tube setup, running 2 tubes down for twice the flow.
