Cardinal Burke talks about why Joe Biden being allowed to receive communion undercuts the work of the Eucharistic Congress. Matt Fradd asks how the laity can be expected to take the Eucharist seriously if the Episcopacy doesn't seem to be practicing what they preach.

Fr. Robert Morey, in South Carolina, refused Joe Biden Holy Communion.
When was Biden in Columbia?
@@Dupstan It was when Biden visited Florence and Fr. Morey was at St. Anthony of Padua Church.
@@JamesSmith-ge2sg oh ok. I say Columbia because i know he does the Latin Mass at the Our Lady of Lake and Ive been many times. It was a surprise seeing his name appear as a comment and learning that he denied Biden communion! The parish i grew up has had biden attend many times but unfortunately they dont deny him communion
Thank you Father Morey for standing up for the Real Presence of Jesus and refusing Eucharist to an unrepentant public sinner.
@@Dupstan I first met Fr. Morey in Florence. He celebrated the TLM on Saturday mornings. The first time I went just happened to be All Souls Day. Fr. wore a black chasubel. So cool.
he profanes the eucharist when he takes communion. Priests who knowingly help him profane the eucharist are endangering themselves.
How many Catholics take communion without confession, don’t live according to the Gospel? Too many.
@@InExcelsisDeo24 Yes, but only a few inherently oppose the church and the teachings of Christ in the public light like certain politicians do. There is no way for a priests to know the inner thoughts and sins of those he dispenses communion to, but those who are publicly unrepentant sinners should be denied.
So, give Hitler communion when he persists in his public sin?
@@ulfskinn1458 It's one thing to be unrepentant. It's another to publicly rebel.
@@RobertStewart-i3m "Rebel" is the word I was looking for. Everyone is a sinner, but those actively working against the church must be regarded as what they are; enemies of Christ. Too may decaffeinated Catholics today conflate forgiveness with tolerance of sin. We are called to forgive repentant sinners, but we must never tolerate the sin.
God bless the Holy Catholic Church!🙏

Biden has condemned himself. Good Cardinals and Bishops need to reprimand priests who aren’t following God and his teachings through the church. Do this publicly so faithful Catholics can see the truth.
“As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear.”
1 Timothy 5:20
Denying a sinner communion is totally wrong. If communion brings us closer to Christ and decreases our hunger for sin, then why deny a sinner the chance for Chist's body to convert him?
@@kingsleynwofe1244 You are missing the point. No one wants to deny sinners the opportunity to receive communion. What we want is to deny unrepentant sinners communion because they would be eating and drinking their own condemnation. This argument you have devalues every other sacrament. If I can take holy communion no matter what then there is zero reason to be baptized, to confess, to marry, or to even be confirmed. Heck, why even be a catholic? There are standards and we have to follow and respect them. If you want to receive communion you must prepare yourself for it, that means being in the right state of mind, body, and soul.
Biden reaches millions, and when he pubicly trumpets perversion and abortion, he mocks God for all to see.
Biden is the best president for Americans. He's helped 30 million hard working new comers enter the USA, many of them are Catholics. I am proud of all the Spanish Mass services in our city.

I better get to confession asap. 5yrs is too long for me.
Go today!
Returning to confession after 7 years is one of the highlights of my life. God bless you!
don’t be afraid! The priests in my experience are always kind and understanding. Do a sincere and humble examination of your conscience beforehand so that you don’t have to struggle to remember in the confessional. The feeling after a good confession is so euphoric in a good way, the feeling of that weight being taken off your shoulders is like nothing else.
Do it. You’ll be so glad! ❤
Catholic's are required to go to confession at least once a year during Easter season, yet this sacrament provides the grace we need to remain close to Jesus. Go to confession often, and become all God wants you to be, may God bless you all

When I am guilty of a mortal sin, I simply go to confession first. Then I am clean and can go to holy Mass.
But you have to stop doing that sin.
. He said when. He didn't say it was continuing
Go to Mass regardless of whether you're in a state of grace. However, refrain from receiving the Eucharist if you're in a state of mortal sin.
@@LauraBeeDannon Good luck with that, not even Paul could stop sinning (read Romans 7:19-25)
While in our fleshly bodies, we will continue to sin - the problem comes in when we don't care about our sin & when don't feel any conviction from the Holy Spirit - which isn't going to happen if we're truly saved & trust in fully in Christ & His _finished_ work on the cross.
You can and should always go to Holy Mass, even if you are in the state of mortal sin. However, you MAY NOT receive the Eucharist. St Paul is very clear about this in 1 Corinthians 11:29 “For whoever eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks a sentence against himself….” Going to Holy Mass will give you the strength to go to Confession as soon as possible; then you may joyfully receive our Lord!
Cardinal Burke is a true shepherd.
The world needs our Church leaders to speak out with this level of love and conviction. Praise be to God for bestowing the gift of courage to Cardinal Burke.
Cardinal Burke is the only person in the world I would love to meet. It’s never going to happen though as I’m 75 and not mobile any more, plus I live in Scotland. @@RobertStewart-i3mthat’s a really lovely suggestion! I’m not very good at propelling myself forward though, especially towards such an eminent (and no doubt very busy) figure. I’m quite shy really. Cardinal Burke has visited my town in the past here in Glasgow at least once or twice but I didn’t know about it then. As far as I know he said Latin Mass in a parish which has now had it taken from them and the congregation were devastated. I did email his office at that time regarding the Mass, to inform him about it, and I try to contribute a bit to the upkeep of his Our Lady of Guadalupe shrine in Wisconsin. Even if I can never visit the shrine, I would hate for it to not be available for others. Thanks for your kind reply! Regards from Glasgow, Scotland.
5:00 It also causes grave scandal, misunderstanding, and further disunity between us and our non-Catholic brethren. They see public Catholics holding these ungodly views, while loudly proclaiming how “devout” they are, go uncensured by their Bishops. It’s a black eye on the entire Church.

My portfolio is rounding up to almost a million and I have realized that when a stock makes it to the news, chances are you're quite late to the party, the idea is to get in early on blue chips before it becomes public. There are lots of life changing opportunities in the market, and maximize it.
What opportunities are there in the market, and how do I profit from it?

The restoration of the longer fast before receiving our Lord is a great idea Cardinal Burke; however, who is going to teach this and demand it be followed? As a cradle Catholic, I can say anecdotally that formation was extremely weak in the 1960s and 1970s, so many of those I know do not understand the fast or other elements of the Church.
God Bless Cardinal Burke! His Eminence is 100% right and he isn't saying anything that would or should shock any Roman Catholic!
Vivat Jesus!
I have to admit that declaring oneself a devout Catholic and pro-choice, aka abortion contains at least one lie.
How can the anointed hands of a priest or bishop minister the precious Body and Blood of Jesus to anyone actively promoting the murder of the Unborn and sex change to anyone young or old. May God have mercy on us.
I’m not Catholic, but it’s encouraging to see Catholics remain consistent with Catholic teaching.
I grew up southern Baptist, and converted 7 years ago. The Baptist group my dad grew up in, had strict rules for the Lord's Supper, because they took Christ at his word regarding "this is my body. " If you weren't a member if that church, you wouldn't be there when they held the communion. If the pastor knew you had a grudge with someone, he would deny you. If you were in any way not ready, you would be denied.
Why is it, an extinct group of baptists take their communion more seriously than Christ's church?
You have holy Catholic Church. You have 48,000 protestant CULTS. And you have the Baptist CULT.

Paul doesn't say you're not allowed. He simply says that doing so is really bad for you. When a priest discerns it's right for him to refuse you is a prudence issue for the church and priest. Biden should be refused out of love for him and according to church teaching.
We need our bishops to pull their heads out of the sand and to take a stand for Christ. In the classroom, one of the things I teach the students is life is full of choices and choices have consequences. For far too long, they have let the political class, the modernist “catholic” and the enemies of the faith force the church into silence. We may very well lose our tax exempt status (I doubt it because of how much we do to feed, clothe and care for all and this will backfire on this class). The time to stand is now.
The church has, till now, failed in teaching the faith to the flock and look at the results. Christ’s Sacred Heart, coupled with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, will provide. It is time to rally the faithful and with God’s almighty grace people will return to the faith of Christ and His Church. We may also need to reform the Norvus Ordo Mass, apparently we have not been told the entire truth. In watching Pints with Aquinas there apparently is a Missal that presents a form of the Norvus Ordo that is far more inline with the faith. Just my two cents. God’s speed to all

I find I can stay away from what is sinful longer as I get older. I still get temptations however it is gods grace that gets stronger in me. I find peace more often.
having less testosterone due to aging might help
@mateusaviani2442 I know quite a few "older" people I work with who live quite sinful lives. It's all part of the equation but the longer you know Christ the stronger you should become
I have around that as I age, and pray the Rosary more consistently, I can stay away from sin due to grace.
If you are married it's easy, but if you aren't then everything sexual is a sin. Meanwhile the married folks are having a pint of two of some fine ale, overeating , and using birth control, which is not considered a sin; but heaven forbid the single man touch his or her organ. Let's use reason; drinking is worse than touching yourself. Masturbation should not be considered a sin..

St Paul advised us we would bring judgment on ourselves taking communion unworthily. It’s a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God !!
The lack of belief in the real presence of the Eucharist is a problem created by the clergy but somehow the laity are the ones being blamed.
Bring back altar rails, ad orientem, communion on the tongue, more confession opportunities, tabernacles in the center of the altar etc. and see how people's dispositions change.

I agree with Cardinal Burke and I believe much of the Catholic Church in America has lost it's way.
What about the "catholic" church in Hoboken NJ that is hosting gay pride mass? How is this permissible?
In London a church held "gay masses" every fortnight for 6 years before the Church finally put a stop to it. These weren't even masses for Catholics with same sex attraction trying to live chaste but many were proudly in relationships, saying they were doing no wrong. Rainbow flags draped everywhere.
6 years before they were forced to shut it down. The church moves slowly indeed. What damage was done in those 6 years?

Doesn't confession make us clean for communion?
As long as you confess in good faith and have a firm resolve to avoid sin.

Very well said Cardinal Burke 🙏
In the LCMS Lutheran church, we "soft excommunicate" the impenitent, manifest sinners. While I wouldn't/couldn't commune him in our church anyway as He's not LCMS, I would most certainly refuse communion to him because he is openly supporting and encouraging sinful behavior. It's not a statement of power, but a way to bring sinners to true repentance. This is eternal life and eternal death stuff.
It's probably the most prudent and pastoral thing to do. As he may have lost understanding of contrition theough confession.
You cannot find God without the Eucharist. The Eucharist is food for the journey, not for those who have reached the destination. I would remind you that the only ones who have finished the journey are DEAD.
We are ALL sinners, Cardinal Burke is a sinner. So am i. Denying the Eucharist to sinners is not a practice that fits with the teachings of Jesus; it is ridiculous.

I like to think I take sin very seriously.
I know when I should and shouldn't receive communion depending on my sins I have yet to confess. (I also know that doesn't mean other Catholics do)
I do however feel uncomfortable with the idea of another human denying me the right of communion. Yes that complaint may sound a bit protestant(ie) but thats just my first thought. I am not ridge in my opinion it just that I know priests can sin also so it just comes across hypocritical.
You need the Pope to lead “no communion” for pro choice pols…and the last three Popes didn’t do it. All else is discussion. Biden can parish shop if he gets refused in location A. Popes must act on this and if a majority of Cardinals voted for Pope Francis….good luck in our lifetime.

Can you ask him why doesn’t the pope excommunicate Joe Biden? It seems that he is putting politics before his soul/religion.
Well, at least with respect to the clip provided, the president did not advocate for transgenderism. He simply said that there should be no discrimination. Is the Cardinal advocating that the president should be pro-discrimination?

I hope Cardinal Burke applies this fairly and calls for JD Vance to be denied communion for supporting the abortion pill.
Yes. Correct. Multi-standards I tell you. Talk about BS. What a shame these preachers are. Enough is enough with the BS. God is fair, one standard for all. Keep that in mind.
I just feel the pope doesn't have your back. He's always been against refusing holy communion to anyone it seems and when it comes to confession, he also says absolution should never be refused which implies a person doesn't have to be sorrowful, doesn't have to be sincere, and doesn't have to promise to do penance. The foundation is sand on all these issues until there is clearer guidance from the top.
The Bride of Christ will survive Bergoglio just as Christ assured but the repair of all the damage he has caused will take generations to complete.

Ideally, in the U.S., we have separation of Church and State. Biden's oath is to uphold the Constitution and to fulfill the will of the American people, of which the majority, support legal abortion. Whatever the Church teaches is irrelevant for a Catholic U.S. president in regard to U.S. law or policy. I like to ask those Catholics who insist that a Catholic president legislate based on Church teaching would have any problem if a Muslim U.S. president would legislate based on their faith, and usually, such people will either not answer or usually, deflect, calling anyone who doesn't tow the Catholic line a murderer. Regardless, that is a fair question.
Furthermore, I question the Cardinal's motivation. I doubt his issues with Biden are about the Eucharist or alleged scandal alone. He is likely espousing opinions that are pleasing to his politically conservative donors, though I cannot prove that 100%. Catholic clergy have a right to support whatever politician they choose as American citizens, but for the good of the faithful, some, like Burke, need to stop speaking in an identical fashion to a talking head on FOX or Newsmax. They are not doing the Church any favors by appearing to be partisan. That too, is scandal.

You are wrong. Preventing the profanation of the Blessed Sacrament isn't punishment. It prevents the desecration of the Eucharist and stops the individual from committing further sacrilege.
Everyone is a sinner. It’s pitiful for one sinner to judge another sinner that his/her own sins are less sinful. God is the only judge who has the sole authority to judge his own creations. Do not deny anyone’s access to God’s grace. If they are truly pure evil, they would not even go to church.
The Lord is the ultimate Judge, He gets the final say. But He also gave us faculties to think, to pick and choose, and the chance to judge wrongly or rightly.
