I'm 63 and just started using velcro rollers again last year. I put on makeup, put on clothes, get in the car, and have walked into church with them because I forgot to take them out!
Will Velcro rollers work with shoulder length hair? I dry my thin, rather straight hair, then put in rollers for about 15 min. Gives me some volume & wave. Those Velcro rollers look convenient.

Very impressive. Let me tell you my trick that has changed my life. I have thin, miserable, fine straight hair, and at age 82 there’s a lot of scalp showing. I would use gels and sprays and everything to try to give my hair body but nothing worked. Somehow, years ago, I learned to dry my hair, then wet it with stale beer (it doesn’t take much, just the dregs after you drink a bottle) then either dry it or let it dry naturally. When I use a curling iron on it it holds the shape of the curl and gives my hair body. I also have a fabulous hairspray called Aerogel that I order online or buy from a beauty supply house. Anyway, that’s my secret and it works! Joan Rivers sells a pressed powder that you apply to the thin spots with a brush. There’s also something sold online that is in powder form and has a foam applicator that helps (I looked it up, Caboki). Try the beer ladies, it works!
Can't get Joan River's hair spot blush powder anymore & if you do find it can't afford it. I loved it & still use the brushes today, wonderful quality. I used for many years but when she died it was gone.
I've always relied on a precision haircut to give my hair the look of abundance but, it's so thin now, I need to work some hacks like this. Thanks for sharing:)

I've used this hack for years. :) The only thing I do differently, is give my roots a light spray of strong hold hairspray to let dry while I'm making up. It works great!

They make dryer holding stands, long handled brushes, combs, straps to assist you in holding your hand on a brush, many adaptive things for the ladies with shoulder injuries.❤
Your hair turned out very pretty. I have medium to long hair, and I do this sometimes with a curling iron or straightener then set it on velcro rollers. I noticed your setting spray was acting up on you. Sometimes I have that problem with hairspray. Just a little hack I'll share. one day I was having trouble with the nozzle on my hairspray. It would spray and not stop. My husband happened to be in the same room with me and said let me have it. He held it out the window, so as not do get the spray on the carpet and turned the can upside down and it sprayed perfectly. He learned this hack using lots of sprays for car detailing and spray paint cans. BTW, first time subscriber. I'm 66 and enjoyed your video and your personality!
@@jgfreer8322 you're welcome. Some cans of spray can be frustrating. Sometimes they will plug and not spray at all or very little. He's told me to take the sprayer off and run hot water over the nozzle.

I've read that rosemary oil rubbed into scalp, helps regrowth and helps to thicken up hair. I believe it said to dilute with another oil, as rosemary is too strong by itself. The info was given by a dermatologist.
Margaret i love your enthusiasm and how you liked to share. Be careful with these rollers especially with thin gray hair as I have Too, I am 78. I saw a hairdresser on you tube she advised that if you use them donot push the hair down into the velcro and wrap and unwrap your hair carefully . They will break your hair.
I did not know she was a hairdresser I was only trying to help. this was the first video I saw of Margarets I to o have very thin hair it is curley and breaks when i use those rollers.

Thank you for your generosity and graciousness. I noticed you kinda "yanked" the rollers out of your hair, I would say to unfold them VERY gently because it stresses and could lead to breakage later. I want to also add that after washing and drying hair, comb it with a wide tooth comb from the BOTTOM up rather than top down, works better at least for me. I use Olaplex products sparingly $$$ and they are $$$ but great for smooth and strengthening. I made my hair lavender and never go out of the house without receiving compliments, I think because people are amazed that at 80 I still want to look modern and have my trademark aesthetic look and style. Toppers never match my hair. The first time I heard about them I thought my thin hair problem was solved, unfortunately they don't match. ugh

We set our hair with beer in high school. Worked great.
