    Good idea using the painters tape to mark the center. Bathroom looks great!

    You make it look so seamless. When my husband and I tried to do it together, it started a fight lol. Had holes pre drilled and just had to line them up but couldn't get them in. Doesn't help doors are on but don't think they can come off while we mount

      I edited out the parts where we were arguing, lol. Hope you finally got it hung.

    How do you fix the cabinet at the bottom to be flush with the wall, mine is hanging off of the wall just like yours, is that normal??

    • @fixitFlip
      @fixitFlip  ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe in my video it is just kind of an optical illusion from the bathroom light. But it is possible your drywall is slightly warped so it doesn't sit flush. There's not a good way to hide a screw on the bottom, but you could use some 3m double sided tape. If the wall is warped, there's not a whole lot you can do.

    I'm about to hang a cabinet as well and I have a mirror too to the right like yours but the mirror is a bit larger. I can't decide if the cabinet should be centered to the height of the mirror or line up the top of the cabinet with the top of the mirror. Any advice/suggestions I should consider?

    • @fixitFlip
      @fixitFlip  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My advice would be centered to the height of the mirror. (I asked my aesthetic advisor as well - my wife) lol

    I only had one stud behind my toilet -.- So i had to modify the cabinet that i got in, i didint like the back of cabinet had a thing flimsy peice of wood. Thankfully two solid places we could put it but wish back of cabinet i got was more solid.

    • @fixitFlip
      @fixitFlip  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah they don't make stuff like they use to. A lot of the flimsy fiber board is used.

    what is the best distance for bottom of cabinet to floor level? Is there a standard Ht?

    • @fixitFlip
      @fixitFlip  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say it depends on the height of your cabinet. You just want to be able to stand directly in front of it and be able to see in it!

    How do you make a template? Do you just find a giant piece of paper?

    • @fixitFlip
      @fixitFlip  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You really just need a strip of paper wide enough to span where the 2 pilot holes go.

    I have a question sir, so I was going to get a stud finder, but how do you use a magnet to find a stud? Can I use toggle bolts or the weight appropriate drywall anchors?

    • @fixitFlip
      @fixitFlip  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Here's my video on how to use a magnet to find studs.
      th-cam.com/video/cYJ645mHXKs/w-d-xo.html
      But you can use anchors as long as the weight of the cabinet (plus things inside) is less than the limit of the anchors, but my preference is to always try and get at least one screw into a stud.

      Depending how heavy They did not hold my cabinet toggle and all 4 eventually fell out wall

  • @abby9991
    @abby9991 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm putting up this cabinet - which anchor did you use on right side?

    • @fixitFlip
      @fixitFlip  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Something just like this:
      www.lowes.com/pd/Blue-Hawk-10-Pack-1-5-in-x-0-19-in-Blue-Steel-Light-Duty-All-Purpose-Anchor-with-Screws/1000103123
      It is a standard drywall anchor, and just make sure it says on the package it will fit a #10 screw. Good luck with it.

    Find a stud knock on wall.

    • @fixitFlip
      @fixitFlip  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that works. The magnet can give you a precise point if you want.

    • @lukki7ster
      @lukki7ster 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fixitFlip what type of magnet is that? This is also a great idea, and possibly cheaper than stud finder. Please let me know if you are able!

    • @fixitFlip
      @fixitFlip  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lukki7ster I'm just using a simple key chain magnet in this video, but any strong magnet will do. Here's a couple good options:
