Really impressed with how articulate he is, a true philosopher of rock! Bloody awesome climber too, obviously

Johnny has some of the most unusual and controlled movements of any climber I've ever seen!

This beautiful, unique philosophy can still inspire a 68 year old who loves Snowdonia.
    Thanks.

"We got laid, ate well and slept well. And then you sorta think what's the point of working so hard just so that you can have a fancy house and car."

Whilst I agree with his sentiment, it's worth noting that Johnny is a trust fund kid from an old money family. Not throwing shade but it's easy to live the dirt bag life when you have guaranteed financial security.

"It's what climbing does best, put's you where you are" Perfect, that is the key, the here and now , 100% in the present moment. Don't quite agree with his view that the mind is moving faster, it seems more like the mind becomes totally unencumbered by extraneous thought and then the clarity of the mind is revealed. Great to here him talk.

Dawes created parkour it seems. He was definitely doing more interesting things than anyone else back then.

definitely the beginning of parkour thrown in there as well

He definitely would have done some parkour if it was more well known in the 80s. That move at the end is the sort of thing you see people doing on ledges and bars today.

From a guy who's been doing parkour for the last 14 years: he's one of us! One of us!

HOLY CRAP !! Watching him climb with just his feet, at app 1.45, it reminded me......I've thought how the greatest climber isn't chameleons, or spiders.....they've got the coolest 'gear'. Snakes, with the least amount of 'gear', still climb well.

Anyone know if there's any footage around of the first ascent of Indian Face?
