When I was about 13, I was grounded for some mischief I got into. I wasn’t allowed to leave the house. Of course, I snuck out and walked to Maid-Rite for a cheese rite. I got caught walking back home. Oh, I was in trouble. But it was worth it. 😇
The original maid-rite, still in the same original building is in Springfield, IL - since 1924! Also, building is on the national redistry for the first drive thru in the country...
Thanks a lot pal, I was fixin' to go to bed & this was the last food video I was going to watch, & now I am starving after watching you eat, lol, I am from rural Kentucky & we don't have maid rite here , thanks again , lol, God Bless & stay safe my friend
@@SetsStreetsEatsactually that sparks an idea. When you are heading near Tampa next, look up Rich Fields, the former TPIR announcer, and see if you can have a look at the cool stuff he took from his time with the show. He’s got the original announcer’s podium (rescued from a dumpster), some of Rod Roddy’s jackets, game pieces, artwork, autographs of Bob Barker and others, etc. and stories to go with everything) He has explained that he always asked permission before taking stuff - he might not have asked the right people, but he always asked!

There is a similar place in Wichita KS called NuWAY that started back in 1930. They call it a crumble burger.
