Most of the time when a glow plug breaks, it is because the shroud near the tip is completely welded solid with carbon that has leaked past the seat. If the bond is strong enough that the head of the plug snaps off then there would no chance you could extract it with that little puller, it would just pull the tapped threads out.

Same glow plugs as OM642 sprinters. Will be saving up for this tool. Always dread doing them because I don't have good extractor like this
With the slide hammer extractor , the thread in the head MUST be damaged when you hammer it out. There MUST be another method somewhere.
