Get Out of Tactical Hell

  • Tactical hell is a place where we are perpetually reactive to other people’s demands and needs, driven by emotional instead of logical impulses, fighting battle after battle after battle. You need to escape it and choose what I call - strategic heaven. Strategy is a mental process in which your mind elevates itself above the battlefield. Instead of being in the fray, you are seeing things from a distance-with objectivity and detachment, gaining the skill of seeing the bigger picture.
Robert Greene is the author of the New York Times bestsellers The 48 Laws of Power, The Art of Seduction, The 33 Strategies of War, The 50th Law, Mastery, The Laws of Human Nature, and most recently, The Daily Laws.

@@RobertGreeneOfficial PLEASE DO A VIDEO ABOUT THE EARTHQUAKE IN TURKEY TO RAISE AWARENESS! Thousands of Turkish people are under buildings waiting for help in freezing weather due to one of the biggest earthquakes; the Government left people to death; please; I’m begging share this with your followers. People are not dying due to earthquakes but dying because of not adequate help (and because of that, the government hides the number of deaths); they are still alive, screaming for help under buildings, their relatives hear their screams, but no rescuer is there to help them :( Anyone who Googles it and reads it 5 min can understand our desperation :(

That being said, I can't stress enough the power of not reacting, "33 Strategies of War" is probably underrated book among your other work and it's on my all time favorite books row in my library for teaching me to stay clear, and not react...

I think this principle of strategic detachment is the core of many of Robert's books. One of the things it seems that holds people back the most is a constant fight-or-flight mentality that makes it impossible either to self-reflect (since that would seem like an assault on your own identity) or to detach our instinctual reactions from our understanding of others' actions (since that seems to the panicked mind to be one step more than it can afford).
It's unfortunate that humans have such an ability to consciously master our instincts, and yet so many of us live whole lives as reactive and flighty as any animal. Thank you, Robert Greene, for bringing all these things that we should unconsciously know to our conscious attention.

Fast forward 20 years plus life experiences, I began reading your Laws of Human Nature, using the ideas expressed to help me understand myself deeper and to play my current failed relationship to an advantageous outcome. Lately I’ve been validating and agreeing with the difficult people in my life and really clcheesing it up so they know I’m not against them in anyway. It throws them off big.. Most of my life I’d be honest to a fault and compelled to speak my point of view around these types and that just ends in back-and-forth or a fight. It’s super draining to say the least. By doing it a different way and being more agreeable it diffuses many situations and leaves these people with a lot less to say because they expect me to be one way and I’m not. It’s shocking them awake. now I actually feel like I might be getting through instead of running up against a brick wall. Robert is correct 100 percent 😁 and you really have to meet people where they’re at rather than where you are all the time. You may feel manipulative but you’re doing it w good intentions so no worries.

    Takeaways:
    Differences between strategy and tactics
Strategy involves thinking about the long-term, taking control of the situation, and making decisions that lead to progress.
Tactics involve reacting to what others present and can result in a never-ending cycle of back and forth with no progress.
    Problems with tactical thinking
People are often stuck in a "tactical hell" where they only react to what the world gives them.
Tactics only involve reacting to others, not taking control of the situation.
Tactical thinking can result in a never-ending cycle with no progress.
    Benefits of strategic thinking
Raising one's mind above daily battles and thinking in longer terms.
The ability to think like one of the greatest strategists in history.
Avoiding "pyrrhic victories," where winning a battle costs more than losing it.
Making decisions based on what is worth it and what is not.

🙏 Thank you for this audio, dear platonic Mentor!...I don't know what is the magic but today I got up stuck, lazy. And after listening twice this audio I began to clean my house, my kitchen, the balcony, the bathroom and then I took a shower and shaved my Legs!! 😂 🤣... My goodness, dear platonic Mentor, Thank you, thank you, thank you for this video🙏, for the direct 'subliminal message'.
