Say what you will about this guy, Robert california is straight up no bs gangsta. James spader does 100% percent to the role. Maybe people hate him because they expect him to be funny like michael but the fact that he’s nothing like him is what makes the show genius. Its true nothing can replace michael scott but robert california is an awesome character and one worth remembering as he is
When I first saw him he seemed to be too "bossy" or arrogant. Though, now looking at him in more depth, he has some fair points. I like the Jim's comment at 2:33 .
Its the fact that he came after Michael... None can replace The MAN the MYTH the LEGEND under the name MICHAEL SCOTT (though Robert was actually really good :p)
@@benjaminodelcamino6689He suggests he knows how to tap into the primal instincts that drive all humans. Therefore, he is above all questions about management.
Fear plays an interesting role in our lives. How dare we let it motivate us? How dare we let it into our decision-making, into our livelihoods, into our relationships? It's funny isn't it, we take a day a year to dress up in costume and celebrate fear?

7:10 One of the most important moments we can learn from. BANG BANG BANG BANG In about FOUR seconds my wife is going to be coming through that door. I've told her she can work here, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES CAN THAT BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN
Jim pep talk was like laid back, calm, low key manipulaying you trough his choice. But RC pep talk was intense, inspiring, but i’ll forget half of what he says
Where Michael Scott created untouched legacy and became yardstick of show's humour, Robert's role was against the odds and he pulled it like no one could ever imagine. Infact, Michael would seem pale in few of Robert's peak act.
The Robert Calafornia cocktail : Take a good strong shot of James Spader and then add a small dollop of Christopher Walken cream and just for a nice touch sprinkle a little bit of John Lithgow choclate shavings on top .
Robert California is the original version of a Brazilian meme called "filósofo Piton". Everything in this life is equal the desire what you want screw someone haha
i like to believe Robert California is based on Bucky LaPlasse from Het Eiland. Exact same persona, looks like him, same intellect and same disgust for his employees
Altough the whole purpose of Robert California was to have a BOSS who is a man of confidence and an actual alpha male, I think it's brilliant that the creators showed us that even this guy can be fragile with his seemingly small, but actually significant breakdown after his divorce. After his wife leaves him, he experiences how it feels (probably for the first time of his life) when his natural charm just stops functioning. You can see Robert getting slowly but surely more and more anxious as he tries to fake confidence, but others, like his own subordinates, who should see him as their superior leader can see it. I wonder sometimes what happened to this character after he left the show. I think it's not impossible that he even commited suicide at some point during season nine as he could never recover from his divorce and never become the predator he once was.

I didn't find him extraordinary!Great actor though,bot a huge fan!
He's the fucking lizard king
I fucking hate him!
I love how Creed is the only one to speak to Robert normally, or at least normally for Creed
You don't live as long as I have without a healthy fear of snakes, Bobby
It's the only character that Robert seems a bit uncomfortable with haha.
Because both are pretenders, one pretends confidence and the other pretends he works there.

His interview at the beginning is how I imagine myself when I’m heading to an interview of my own. Never turns out like that, nice to imagine though
Uh... well you see... the reason I am qualified for thos job is... uh...
I will be flattened. Everything is sex.
People will disagree but i think robert california was the best addition to the cast post-GoodbyeMichael
lol i don't think anyone would disagree with you, he certainly doesn't have much of competition in the first place.
I would binge a Robert California spinoff right now. Oh wouldn't that be great!
Robert California was Ryans hero.

Robert California Excellent quote.
niraj maharjan hard man 😂😂
James Spader is a legend
Raging Bull it's Tobin Bell mate
wtf dude, are you blind?
He's almost Machiavellian. He wouldn't be out of place in an intense political drama.
True chaos.
Imagine this man in game of thrones
Blacklist

The best one for me.
After watching too much of "The Blacklist" I seriously cannot unsee this guy as Raymond Reddington.
I'm so absorbed into this character, and I haven't even seen the show. Wow.
"Winners, prove me right
Loosers, prove me wrong"
probably his favourite quote
Losers.
IMO Robert California was the best character after Michael ofc, James Spader did an amazing job creating humour into a dying series.
no!!
Absolutely NOT!
Agreed
1. Michael
2. Dwight
3. Robert California
I love how kevin had the last word. The only man who can parry Robert. Battle of 2 genius

It's actually quite weird as he refers to Jo as his superior later in season 8

He even got Stanley to listen, now that's an achievement.

For the longest time i knew the way he said "fallacy" was familiar and it just clicked that he was the voice of Ultron in Avengers 😆
I love the style of speech ("his way of speaking") Robert California uses
This man is a who I strive to be
Definitely a lowkey favourite character
Watching all together we can see how Robert is an absolute genius
Sarcastic effortless great comedy timing excellent character
James Spader is just captivating AF!

Robert California was the best thing to happen to the Office after Steve Carrell left. Brilliant and very funny character
I don't know why people hate this guy but i am laughing so hard.
Such a bizarre but interesting character. He can literally change peoples dialogue merely because of his presence.
