Now is time to make a waterproof and watercooled version of this monster:) With this floodligth that would be great for night diving.

if you have overheating issues use a silver based thermal compound lime nanodiamond, it has a much greater thermal conductivity than standard silicone heat sink compound. use it carefully as it is electrically conductive

CPU tests in heavily overclocked applications show marginal gains from using a silver paste-- certainly not enough to warrant using an electrically conductive paste.

I get 3-5c better which could be the difference one needs. The conductive issue is moot in this application.

Your comparison example in the video has purple/magenta cast on the left and greenish cast on the right. Both they dont look like what i get when i take a photo in a comparable room with a tungsten lamp or flashbulb (no casts). Have you by any chance compared to flashbulbs or tungsten?

Are the cheap LEDs okay for just a basic super powerful flashlight and grow light? I bought 10 100 watt leds for 25$ off eBay, they still haven't arrived but I'm expecting them to be absolutely crap

Let's not pretend a 100w LED flashlight isn't about making the night turn to day, mate :)

Why do you have to buy 100 pieces?

They are not a retailer, more like a wholesale outlet, so items are sold in bulk- you can find them individually if you search the web enough...

Your original build is an example of superb ingenuity and craftsmanship. As one who is into photography and video, you can't dispute the quality of light that comes out of the Yuji cob, however, your flashlight would have very limited use as a video or photography light without the ability to modify the light by attaching standard modifiers to the front. Also, it would have to be mountable on standard light stand spigots. So, upgrading a flashlight to a quality cob is VERY cool, but wasteful and unnecessary unless you also modify the design to make it useful as a video light. I have doubts you would be fully capable of doing that, but I doubt you will as video or photography do not appear to be 'your thing', at least going by your other videos. I sure wish you would though 😄

CREE would have been a better and cheaper choice.

Better in which way. More lumens per watt or better color accuracy?
Those who buy yuji tend to buy because of color. Just as I am. But if you have more info on the subject I’m happy to learn more.
