- DO THIS IF YOUR OLD VOLKSWAGON BEETLE BUG, SUPER BEETLE OR ANY OLD VEHICLE HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A LONG TIME AND WONT START.
WE BOUGHT THIS VEGICLE AND IT WOULD NOT START AND RUN, WE WERE NOT SURE IF THE MOTOR WAS GOOD OR NOT, BUT, IT DID START AND RUN.
IT WILL STILL NEED A CARB CLEAN AND CARB REBUILD, BUT, IT STARTS AND SHOWS US THAT IT IS WORTH, MORE THEN WE PAID AND WORTH FIXING UP AND DRIVING THIS OLD BEAUTY.

The upper wing you use to harvest more air for ventilation cooling is a very smart and simple idea! Is it available and ready to install on any Beetle? Or did you invent the wing? I'll do it, have you tested the cooling effect with and without? Does it achieve more cooling? Hope so, waiting for the answer! Well, thanks in advance. Best Regards
These motors need to be cooled by air...but, they also need to be at right hot temperatures to burn fuel correctly.
Air cooled motors will last if not overheated....too cold will age t the way it vaporizes the fuel as it should.

I like the idea of 1/4" diamond plate bumbers,I never cared for stock VW bumpers,,,to thin to offer any real protection, I was thinking tube myself,but I could definitely see incorporating diamond plate into my tube design
Its what we had laying around..for that rat rod look. 1/4 inch thick..so, pretty strong, with a different look for the old bug.

Nice off black bug !, I have one bug too at Cairo Egypt. What is the treatment you added to the fuel? but as I dont have gasoline 84 octan, I used to put 1\3 gasoline 92 & 2\3 gasoline 80 octane so I do come closer to 84 octane. BR

Hi make sure the spark from the points are a bright white and not yellow.
Love your style. Kinda hard to hear you over the music. Can you make more carbureted cold starts from the view of the drivers side with the door open? It’s so cool to see how you start it up... carburetors are kind of elusive to me and I love to watch people start up carbureted engines. Please make more! Subscribed!

I think that wire you didn't worry about is for the reverse lights, but your prolly figured that out by now
Appreciate the info..Yeah, cold outside back then and didn't worry about it....we ran all wires were they needed to go and fixed a few more things..but, she runs good.

@@2guyshow2thefishkingz89 yeah Cool I just Fixed my reverse lights the other day First Time there ever worked since I got It LOL A wire runsoff the positive side of the Coil across the fan Shroud and too the tail light Wires , With a 8 amp fuse

Nice beetle, just not a fan of super beetles…. That tire lay flat but windshield is flat and not curved so that’s throwing me off
Yeah, they are very similar on older models..only difference is the super beetles have front McPherson struts...not the spring inside the front axle tube.....so, some say they ride smoother.
Newer models had the curved windshields.
I do like the flat window look, for some reason..Maybe, similar to an older american style car. They are all cool..If they run good.

@@jeremyshearer yeah, we have a 72 and a 66...with long hoods...with emblem they look bad ass..they a slammed down..so, the hood lines accent the long style hood.
If you need a curved super..we have some.

great video im going to be a new subscriber May i make some suggestions one drop the music i rather hear you and the sound of the car two you should have added a test light to the oil pressure switch so when you start the car the light should go out indicating you have oil pressure at start up anyway just my opinion keep up the videos love to see more on this baby

I have so many of these cars and buggies..I think that one has a dash light for oil pressure..
We will have more videos on bugs other street legal sand buggies coming up..when weather breaks.

trying to get my dad's bradley gt2 kit car started. it has a hot 2.3 motor in it, we have spark, compression, new coil, cap , rotor , gapped plugs, new pointless distributor. All it does is cough and backfire. I only see 1 ground going to the coil coming direct from the distributor. Is there another ground we are missing? TDC verified with aftermarket crank pulley, rotor position and popped off valve cover. Just trying to get it to fire to give my pops some hope. Thanks!
Sounds like the carb is dirty or if it fuel injected, it could be a fuel related problem. Fuel pump or fuel line, leaking air... I always put gas straight into the carb or air filter intake manifold or hose and see if it starts that way. If it does start then you know it is starving for fuel.

Have you checked the timing
Hi you've put the fuel filter in between the wrong fuel line, should be from fuel tank to fuel pump.
1302 is 1971 and 1972 so flat windshield, 1303 1973 on, curved windshield.
Loose the background music. It’s distracting from what you’re talking about. It really sucks. Great video otherwise.
Maybe timing is out
This car sat for a good while..just needed fresh gas..fuel filter, oil change and checked the plugs, points cleaned or replace and rotor button..once we had spark..poured a little gas in the carb and boom..started rightbup and runs fine.
