Thank you, I have now had 2 of them. I like them both. though am now riding KTMs. don't know if that is a betrayal but, it has bee what I moved on to. When my Father in law, decided to sell his 250x, I sold mine too, then moved on to the ktms...... hard to beat really.
@@benjaminhalko9272 I love my 04 250X. I did a lot of work to it to make it run great. I rode my friend's 300 KTM one time and dang that was a good experience. So fast and so smooth. I don't blame you for switching. I payed 2650 for my bike. How much did you buy/sell your Honda for? I'm located California
@@mrmustache8735 I think you got a pretty good deal. That is less than what I paid / sold mine for. My Father in Laws was the 06 and mine was the 05. I sold mine, the 05' for 3.2k - I think my father in law sold his for about the same. The market has been pretty good here. Not as many places to ride in Texas as there is in California. But we make do since we have freedoms and can have real guns....
I have a 05 crf250x and she just locked up this morning on my way to a friend's its a fun bike don't know if I want to rebuild it or not have 2800$ in it. starting dying an knocking I did manage to pull in the Gas station an shut it off with kill switch I looked at it for a min kicked the kick starter real slow it turned over but I could hear it hunting valves I hit the push start button and it locked up
@@bricehale6593 Well start taking off the head and probably go down all the way to the cylinder and piston. Then assess the damage. If all is well your bottom end is good. If not, then yea you'll be looking at a top end. But you can do it yourself too if you know what you're doing
It has been so long now I have forgotten. I bought them from the local dealership and I know I didn't spend very much. I think the bar and pad was less than 100.
4 strokes are noisy,. period. they are all noisy, in reality. you could probably ride what you have longer than you can stand and never have it quit. you may want to have it checked by your local mechanic though. cant say way your problem may be, but, it could be valves, could need an adjustment, won't really know without having it checked. @@benjaminhalko9272 I know this will probably not be the case for everybody, but my 2006 had the same issue and I started checking wear items. Well I found that the cam chain was way out of spec and replaced it. Also replaced the tensioner with a manual tensioner. I thought it was much quieter. Full disclosure just prior to this I had converted to steel valves as well. It's a Honda and they have a lot going on in that valve train so not surprised it's noisy. Hope it all worked out.

Can you do another video of this 250x cold start and engine idle. I have a 250x but seems to have loud engine noise
