7:28 Oh lord I got a laundry - Aoes in general should be unlocked earlier for basically all classes but especially healers (45 and 46 lmao) - Ninja's Kunai's bane cause the new Huton doesnt have a good usage case for like 40+ levels outside of very niche 3-4 target situations since Kunai's bane is level 92. - Basically all of Reaper and Viper cause those classes are barren compared to other jobs at their same level range. - White mage gains so much between 50-60 that they reasonably couldve added some of it before 50 so it doesn't just feel like "AST but less" in ARR (I partially blame the lack of real ogcd heals on white mage for most of its leveling for the large number of curebots)
I think the reasoning with the new Huton was for usage compatibility with Meisui whenever Kunai's Bane isn't unlocked yet, but the point is still valid.
@iPlayOnSpica That's actually a pretty good point. There's still a level gap between getting Huton and Meisui but that gap is lower than Hyoton and enhanced Kassatsu (for Hyosho) so it's not that big of an issue. Hellfrog(from Meisui) + Huton does end up a gain over a Katon by like 50 potency so yeah that does give it use I didnt consider.
I wish DRK self healing options or TBN were lower level, I know a lot of healer classes struggle at ARR bracket doing anything beyond cast time heals and DRKs don't have nearly enough mitigates off cd to compensate for it all. I think the shortest mit CD you get before TBN is 60-70 seconds. Also ofc honorable mention goes to Dragoon just being an unfun and incomplete mess up until at least 70. I wanted to main DRG on my first character, but when I looked at other classes and realized they all come online whole expansions earlier, it really killed my love for the class. Also also shoutout to Arcanist being completely gutted and an absolute chore to get to 30. I know I would love SCH from watching these videos, but MAN I cannot even get to the job stone at this point. Wish I could go back in time to pre-Endwalker to tell the me getting into the game "hey, you want to get this class just to 30, trust me".
7:28 Eukrasia! Eukrasia being level 30 means Sage doesn't have a DoT until Hawkke Manor, and can't do ANYTHING while the Tank is pulling (I suppose it can swiftcast Diagnosis... once).
I enjoy playing NIN the most because it has majority of its kit and identity in the earlier levels. Feels relatively complete. Newer jobs like VPR, RPR etc all feel super incomplete when playing under the xpac they were released in. Then there's DRG, been in game since start, and can barely play dungeons till 70's. LMAO. PCT is the only one ive played thats a new job that feels relatively complete at lower levels and continuously add on. So many new jobs wait for their core gauge or identity spells to be unlocked at the xpac theyre played at. Lvl 80, 90, etc. But even existing jobs, theyll remove spells and add new ones at higher levels, which just makes some weaker in older content/MSQ etc. Hope they fix it. Either pull a WoW and let us use older spells but scale at lower levels way harder, or just shift job identity around to be fully available by 50 and get extra stuff higher as you go.
I see your undergeard sprout DRK in Bardam's Mettle and raise you a level 30 sprout Gladiator (yes, a level 30 Gladiator) in Haukke Manor who was wearing some level 15 left-side gear and one (1) accessory. They melted the instant any of the trash mobs even looked at them, every time I thought, 'oh maybe I can cast a damage spell' they died. If they had been a genuine baby sprout I'd have been nicer about it but they had multiple jobs over level 60 so it wasn't their first rodeo.
I feel you on grinding for the Skallic gear. I had to wait in hellacious queues just to get groups for it, reran it repeatedly to get the full Striking gear, then Endwalker not only reused it, but gave it a better dye scheme. True suffering.
Had a run with in Bardam's Mettle when I lvled my Tank classes and we almost died at the 2nd full pull after I had to use every CD I had just to stay barely alive. Healer argued that I had bad gear and that is why its so tough to heal. Both DPS defended me at that time and healer got so upset that he just let us die to the first boss and left the party. For some time I did think it was my fault because I was undergeared but pretty fast found out that Bardam's Mettle is the next dungeon you would get gear that is slightly better than full shire gear. So basically I had the best gear possible, apart from crafting better or buying gear from MB, and of course I did not play to absolute perfection but I rotated my CDs so they did not overlap, even had to kite the mobs a bit just so the damage was manageable to heal. Yet in the end healer said it was solely my fault. 🤣 I was pretty new at that time and that discouraged me from playing tank for a long time.
25:40 - That tank was a chad. And a good call on your part thinking "They were full pulling everything else, I don't see why they'd stop now unless they didn't see that other pack"
as a fellow sch main, I wish we got like half our kit earlier tbh. sch feels so basic until 70, then suddenly in the shb levels it more or less completes itself, picking up union, recit, regen on soil, and seraph from 70-80. all you're really missing at that point is exped and seraphism. but before that, all you really have is excog, lustrate spam, dawn, and adlos. crazy how many essential buttons you get back to back
I have a lot of things I'd wish they'd give at earlier levels. For example, a basic AoE starting with Sastasha would be nice. I'd also like if Reaper started with the shroud abilities earlier so that it's not literally mind numbingly boring to play in anything that isn't level 90 and above.
I came back to the game having played it lots in Heavensward and Stormblood, and a bit in Shadowbringers and Endwalker, and was trying to level up my alt classes. Either I got lucky and only levelled good main classes, or it's such a wildly less fun experience now - they can't keep spreading the ability unlocks over the 100 levels, combos are impossible to learn through normal play sometimes. All they seem to be able to do is try to make levelling quicker so you get past the broken bit sooner. I really appreciate the attempt to keep the amount of skills under control, but I dunno. I also feel like duty support has become a total monkey's paw - I hated having to play with other people and was always anxious, and now I don't have to... and it turns out it's not a very good single player game, lol. I feel like the next expansion is absolutely not going to be able to work like this, and I'm so glad I don't have to fix it!
What I always love is tanks that decide that level 50 hard dungeons can be pulled like any regular dungeons, when most healers don't have jack to deal with the stupid amount of damage that pulling boss to boss needs at that level, the damage the tank takes is one thing but the aoe in Stone Vigil hard is just brutal if your healer/tank aren't in sync with each other. Not a leveling or MSQ dungeon, but still feels like the rare time I go in those at least one of the characters highest classes is 50-60 and usually is a group with the sprout icon above their head. And honestly, I wish FFXIV would have done what most games that have a level sync for lower dungeons and just nerf the damage while allowing use of all abilities, does that make things significantly easier in some ways (especially all the healers/tanks with extra abilities) sure, but god do I hate going down to 2-3 buttons and sometimes trying to remember what my rotation should be for this level (muscle memory really screws you over on that).
Bardam's Mettle is one of my favourite dungeons in the whole game. I couldn't tell you much of why, only that when it's a smooth run it gives me the same excellent endorphins as healing my way through a deathless Savage does. Edit: That level scaling thing is INTERESTING when you play on console. You have eight pallettes of sixteen slots, so my setup tends to be P1 - Everything I use most at the highest level I've reached, P2 - Items and abilities I need but don't fit in P1, P3 - Level 50 setup, P4 - Level 60, etc. It helps with the mental reset I need to do with lower level runs too.
Forker absolutely needs its AOEs earlier. Not having any AOE until Stone Vigil and not having anything but that single button and the aoe jump until some time in STORMBLOOD is gross af.
I was just thinking about one ability I'd like sooner, I wish Machinist got Auto Crossbow before level 50, solely so they could so some half-decent AOE damage before that point. And yeah, I want a Grand Company update too. Even just updating them to Stormblood dungeons (and maybe having them work like the Duty Support NPCs so they can do stuff like Halatali again because the update made it impossible for them) would be enough.
Art of War with Auto attacks is most definitely a gain on 1 in ARR. Instant cast AoW does not reset your auto-attack swing timer like hard casting does :3
in terms of dragging around the previous expansion's tome gear: guilty as charged, I usually only replace it for one job because MSQ feeds it to you + whatever dungeons happen to drop.
Samurai earlier levels would be much more enjoyable if our Dashes and one AoE ability are unlocked earlier, but if I had to pick 1? it probably would be an AoE ability PS: RIP Kaiten PPS: Liked, Subscribed, keep it up Cider - you got this !!
Not any one skill showing earlier, I would want jobs to get something akin to the monk rework, getting lesser forms of major rotational stuff than usually was a couple expansions down the road. Stuff like an early expediance, but the mitigation is weaker, but still party sprints.
Gonna edit as we go: - Bardam's Mettle has two potentially problematic pulls (though one got significantly easier in Endwalker). The one you still need to be careful for is the very first pull. Back when TP was a thing, you typically broke this one up into two because they just hit so damn hard. It's pretty regular now to full pull, but it's probably at fault for most wipes. The second place where you used to face trouble is the pull right before the 2nd boss. The bird used to hit like a truck, and combined with tank busters on the 2nd group, it could potentially delete you. Their damage was definitely reduced after the stat squish. - Matoya's Relict is VERY long compared to similar dungeons. It genuinely has a great set of bosses, but it has a ton of walking and running. God help you if you wipe here. - I think I noticed one of the major issues with the sprout tank. They're popping all of their mitigation at once in the beginning. I pegged at least one clip after the second boss that they used both Rampart and Shadow Wall on a small pull. This is what causes them to go into the next long pull with literally no cooldowns. - Ghimlyt Dark is pretty dang easy. Also, the ceruleum tanks weren't changed for the last fight, it's random which layout you get. - I miss old Keeper of the Lake. Einhander used to turn into a dps check once stuff finally started blowing up, and having a "huge" boss that doesn't directly attack you was unique back in ARR.
one ability that i want earlier? White Mage's Afflatus Rapture. why the hell do i get Misery before Rapture and stuck with Solace for more than 20 levels? Rapture, being the AOE Lily Heal, would feel so much better in Storrmblood Content, at like level 64 or 66.
I think the issue with incomplete kits is something the Mobile devs at Lightspeed solved by literally making a simplified version of the level 100 kit at level 50. I think the fear there might be that the full kit won't change much if at all as we get to higher levels since it's already fully fleshed out.
earlier unlock? Oh man, as a Samurai main I would kill for the trait that turns Fuga from a cone AoE into a circle AoE. it kills me every time I sync down and lose my easy AoE.
An ability i'd like to have back would be Sch's atherflow gauge being available before battle, and having it at a lower level (and alongside lusterate being lower level too) so it makes lower content easier to heal on SCH. Though i'd like to have Selene's "remove one negative debuff" back if i'm being honest on that.
The bit about the chasers is especially true for me, since I play from South America and even in the nearest servers my lag is just bad enough that it's a guaranteed hit/kill on me with or without sprint
Ninjas often stand in AOEs because they've decided they're gonna let shade shift, bloodbath, and second wind get them through it. If any job stands a chance of pulling that off, it's usually them.
Man. After a long day of grinding Bardam's Mettle for all my level 65 jobs to the point of being sick of it, I'm ready to sit down and watch some Cider Spider.
there is a depressingly large window of levels for scholar where the cast bar does interrupt auto's and art of war therefore does more dps even on single target
This doesnt totally fit the question of the day but I wish they'd just make Kassastsu's ability to change Katon and Hyoton baseline to the skill. There's a huge level range where you have Kassastsu but it doesnt change anything, so my muscle memory ends up causing me to Hyoton bosses because i can never remember what level it changes over.
>8.0 changes i think they're going to do a large amount of pruning for each class AND making classes get their full effective kit much much earlier, like level 50. would make low level content far smoother
6:42 for a long time, i've wished that level sync would drop your level and stats, but let you keep your unlocked abilities. it just doesnt feel good to have less buttons
Summoner is still the one job to *NEVER* do in roulettes where you might loose 90% of your skills. Everything doesn't just get disabled, it gets changed and nerfed, and if you leveled it years ago before the rework(s) you have zero clue what the hell half of them even do.
Every ability. All of them. They really need to do the WoW or Guild Wars thing of scaling shit down so I can use my kit at low levels; I would actually run roulettes without being miserable. Sprouts would see people doing crazy shit as they're leveling and be excited to get new buttons because they'd be permanently unlocked. Crystal Tower wouldn't suck unbelievable ass to play through. Imagine.
For your question, I wish other tanks would get their invulns as early as Warrior does. It’s kinda silly that they don’t. Also wish WHM got SOME sort of oGCD before 50 (with Benediction). If enough people are taking damage you’re forced to be a curebot lol
The diminishing kit at low level is easily the worst part of the game. I hope one day they add something like Runescape 3's Revolution system where the game performs a sub-optimal rotation of a set amount of abilities with the option to play full manual if you're a gigachad that can read. So long as it let you bypass the level gating nonsense on the current kits. It'd open up combat much earlier while having something for noobs. The whole "casting interrupts autos" thing is also a myth. It's just not worth using them on any caster that isn't SCH/SMN because the devs said hitting something with a book hurts a lot more than a rapier. In current content a 10m fight with autos on is roughly an extra cast of Ruin III on SMN which can matter on rare occasion.
I pulled a clown n grinded Squadrons to max faction rep, n ended with GNB & SGE to lvl 90 in Heavensward MSQ. The experience of having most of end game kits Outside of Dungeons/Trials/Instances, it really like kinda killed my drive to properly learn the two classes since I'm just slow rolling to actually being able to use my kits in full.
6:29 adding onto that, the scaling for jobs unlocked in later xpacs like PCT is becoming ridiculous. Like ah yes I love pressing the same button three times for 70% of the time in ARR and HW content, and then on top of that the few attacks they do get have insane amounts of potency like standard finish or mog of the ages. I can see it now the next dps job is going to have like three buttons available at lvl 50
It's definitely one perk of being a RDM main in earlier expansions; your toolkit is largely complete at level 50 unlike most jobs, minus your melee combo finishers and buff skills.
Maybe its just me, but I didn't really need to worry about Matoya's for farming tomes because Bozja did such a quick job of capping me every week that doing roulettes for it seemed like a waste.
I really wish abilities just weren't restricted by level sync. For the past couple of expansions, I found that I couldn't get excited about the new abilities being shown off because I don't raid, so I'm barely ever gonna get to see the newest abilities in use. Just nuke the daylights out of my damage if I'm sycned down to do Stone Vigil, I just wanna press buttons.
As a BLM I'd love to have Leylines earlier, its a defining aspect of BLM gameplay. As for addressing the issue of not having a compete skillset : Perhaps they could make it so you have all your skills you have learned so far, even in low level dungeons, but the potencies/effects of skills could scale down if they were originally not available at that level, so players with a complete level 100 skillset are only marginally stronger, but still are able to use their full fun rotations.
Well Matoya's Relict wasn't tough to grind tomes for because it's actually decently short and pretty easy. It just didn't take long so, imo, it wasn't bad
Main job I want to shift skills around on is Reaper! Move Blood Stalk to level 30, and Grim Swathe to 50. That way by level 50 I at least have the full avatar suite when I'm doing praetorium or get CT so I can aoe with it lmao
DRK needs a gap closer or at the very least a long-distance attack. I always feel so dumb running around manually to enemies and not rolling my GCDs because i literally couldn't.
Oh boi, I was treated to a Dohn Meg round with a French whitemage that didn't use Benediction, their lillies or just spammed medica XD was a FUN run, but the tank was really good (Gnb).
Oh yeah Montoya's relict, one time I was playing SCH on a WoL that had only ever played SMN so I forgot to do the job quests and how we made it without any abilities that you have to do missions for I still don't know
Personally, I don't mind losing out of my kit when synced for the most part. It gives me a good chuckle when I randomly get a max level dungeon and have to go 'oh yeah, I can press all this too now.' That said, I generally only queue as a SCH or GNB. Mostly I just lose out on continuations which I try to press every time.... Maybe a little earlier for a AOE cart spender, but eh.... I don't care if I am overcapping on synced stuff.
Somewhere on TH-cam, someone was saying how The Burn is the first case of suddenly difficult MSQ content, so I was scared going into it. Turns out it was the easiest duty in StB. No idea what that person was smoking, but the current version of The Burn is absolutely trivial, and there's no way you don't have full poetics gear by the time you get to that point of the MSQ. I never had healing/tanking issues in Bardam's Mettle, but I also keep hearing from everyone how hard the trash mobs hit. Weird. Maybe people on JP are just better geared, or watch guides even for MSQ content, or something, because I never run into issues in any of the supposedly difficult dungeons. I'm not really sure what you mean by upgrading your gear. It's a level 65 dungeon, at which point the BiS gear is 273 ilvl, which is not going to be much better than the 270 ilvl HW poetics gear. It's +1 vitality +7 defence on body armour. If you're 66, then okay, the BiS is 279 ilvl, which gives you +2 vitality +21 defence on body armour, but that barely makes a difference either. I kinda wish tanks always had gap-closers at level 50+, or at least give them to all tanks before 60, so you can gap-close in Alexander. I played a bit of VPR and realised how insane it is to have such good mobility at low levels. It makes the game feel 100x more dynamic when you can dash all the time. Similar thing with DNC, although I rarely use the dash due its wonky animation.
Man this video really came out right after witnessing my SO having to deal a PLD in stone vigil wearing level 20-30 gear, and no boots and missing a necklace. Spamming cure wad just barely keeping them alive and even then we died a few times. Not to mention she'd have 0 mp afterwards. This guy had multiple level 100 jobs too. Lilies sooner than Heavensward!!! WHM is way more fun in DT but every time I do MSQ roulette I want to cry. It’s been my main since I started playing and now it hurts so much to go back. Even just having the healing lilies sooner would make such a huge difference into the fun of the job.

- White mage gains so much between 50-60 that they reasonably couldve added some of it before 50 so it doesn't just feel like "AST but less" in ARR (I partially blame the lack of real ogcd heals on white mage for most of its leveling for the large number of curebots)

Verraise needs to be obtained earlier, specifically pre-60. Vercure as well for that matter.
"something we could use in dawntrail" in regards to the first boss being a mechanics check.
i feel like it'd even be useful in the hall of the novice
Good thing we got a hall of the novice part 2 that no one will do 🙃
Had a run with in Bardam's Mettle when I lvled my Tank classes and we almost died at the 2nd full pull after I had to use every CD I had just to stay barely alive.
I was pretty new at that time and that discouraged me from playing tank for a long time.
Cider Spider inspires me to do more Mentor Roulettes so I can stay ahead of him
25:40 - That tank was a chad.
And a good call on your part thinking "They were full pulling everything else, I don't see why they'd stop now unless they didn't see that other pack"
I wish gunbreaker's fated circle unlocked earlier. the extra damage during trash mobs is always nice.
as a fellow sch main, I wish we got like half our kit earlier tbh. sch feels so basic until 70, then suddenly in the shb levels it more or less completes itself, picking up union, recit, regen on soil, and seraph from 70-80. all you're really missing at that point is exped and seraphism. but before that, all you really have is excog, lustrate spam, dawn, and adlos. crazy how many essential buttons you get back to back
I have a lot of things I'd wish they'd give at earlier levels.
I feel like the next expansion is absolutely not going to be able to work like this, and I'm so glad I don't have to fix it!
i just woke up from a fever-induced nap and i’ve never been more glad to see a cider video
Here's hoping the "job identity update" in 8.0 actually fixes synced content too
Maybe have a couple people dedicated to checking what each job has at each level cap.
@@SmallerRidley Given what Black Mage looked like prior to Dawntrail ....
Nah, not a snowball's chance in hell
27:48 It's a line from the Black Dynamite movie.
I wish Afflatus misery unlocked earlier for sure. the gap between lilies at 52 and blood lily at 74 is wild.
Forker absolutely needs its AOEs earlier. Not having any AOE until Stone Vigil and not having anything but that single button and the aoe jump until some time in STORMBLOOD is gross af.
Paladin Gapclose was my answer until they shifted it earlier, now I'd say probably dance partner, which doesn't exist until 60
'the frogs aren't supposed to be this gay' got a good chuckle out of me lmao
Don't worry Cider, one in four healers suffer from premature soil.
Samurai earlier levels would be much more enjoyable if our Dashes and one AoE ability are unlocked earlier, but if I had to pick 1? it probably would be an AoE ability
PS: RIP Kaiten
PPS: Liked, Subscribed, keep it up Cider - you got this !!
Not any one skill showing earlier, I would want jobs to get something akin to the monk rework, getting lesser forms of major rotational stuff than usually was a couple expansions down the road. Stuff like an early expediance, but the mitigation is weaker, but still party sprints.
One earlier ability?
Closed Position on Dancer should be at 50 at minimum.
15 seconds? Perfect timing last time I was this early for a Cider video he was asleep on stream
So much fun watching these videos. My mentor roulette ride is almost over as I have 72 remaining.
Art of War is only a gain on 1 if you attack with it constantly and keep melee uptime for 2+ minutes.
It's ALWAYS a gain on 2.
Gonna edit as we go:
- Bardam's Mettle has two potentially problematic pulls (though one got significantly easier in Endwalker).
Closed position on dancer. Any level 50 content and its a gimp dps
9:57 i suffered, i *hated* matoya's relict by the time 5.5 rolled around
The thing I always see kill people on Dark's last boss is the dash across the arena. It's a fairly subtle telegraph compared to most before.
7:00 - I think they should do what SWTOR/EQ2 do. You keep your skills but they scale down in potency to match level of content.
This is the same team that STILL, 3 damn expansions in, refuse to do the changes needed so Viera and Hrothgar can use hats.
earlier unlock? Oh man, as a Samurai main I would kill for the trait that turns Fuga from a cone AoE into a circle AoE. it kills me every time I sync down and lose my easy AoE.
Don't worry; there are 998 more maws of Toto-Rak to find.
You had us worried, but now all is right with the world.
Man. After a long day of grinding Bardam's Mettle for all my level 65 jobs to the point of being sick of it, I'm ready to sit down and watch some Cider Spider.
Midgardsomr isn't at fault. The girl died because Minfilia insisted on baiting in Ascians by using her most powerful relic as wall decoration.
there is a depressingly large window of levels for scholar where the cast bar does interrupt auto's and art of war therefore does more dps even on single target
I would like verraise on redmage to become available much earlier than its current level 64.
This doesnt totally fit the question of the day but I wish they'd just make Kassastsu's ability to change Katon and Hyoton baseline to the skill. There's a huge level range where you have Kassastsu but it doesnt change anything, so my muscle memory ends up causing me to Hyoton bosses because i can never remember what level it changes over.
yea, that'd be a fantastic change, and I'm not sure why it's not already like that.
WHM - Tetra
Having Bene but not Tetra is such a pain in the ass
I remember unlocking fated brand and thinking "wow ill get to use this for all of... 5 dungeons :/"
the Stormblood dungeons are soo much fun! the fights are also really freakin' cool! Susano is one of the best fights in the game
ability i wish unlocked earlier...... aoes on dragoon, ninja and all the other jobs that dont have them at all at the lower levels.
>8.0 changes
i think they're going to do a large amount of pruning for each class AND making classes get their full effective kit much much earlier, like level 50. would make low level content far smoother
Would love to see more bosses like Bardam's Mettle second boss
My one ability i would love to unlock earlier? For the love of God red mage raise why lvl 63?
6:42 for a long time, i've wished that level sync would drop your level and stats, but let you keep your unlocked abilities. it just doesnt feel good to have less buttons
It was the Pictos making the frogs gay! Nice
As for QotD, I wish Monk got riddle of fire on level 50. Monk's "burst" on 50 is so lackluster, it hurts.
Summoner is still the one job to *NEVER* do in roulettes where you might loose 90% of your skills. Everything doesn't just get disabled, it gets changed and nerfed, and if you leveled it years ago before the rework(s) you have zero clue what the hell half of them even do.
Great new video, Cider!
21:35 I have been saying that for years, I've never heard anyone else point that out!
For early unlock, melee getting their aoe damage before level 30+. K, thnx.
The cool zombie boss from Sirensong is The Governor.
It's not a high priority of mine but I always feel guilty going into crystal tower and not being able to set a dance partner
Cerulean Tanks has 2-3 different patterns, randomly chosen. There's the easy one you got and one that is more complex
Whenever I get sync'd down and Expedience isn't available, I cry a bit
6:29 adding onto that, the scaling for jobs unlocked in later xpacs like PCT is becoming ridiculous. Like ah yes I love pressing the same button three times for 70% of the time in ARR and HW content, and then on top of that the few attacks they do get have insane amounts of potency like standard finish or mog of the ages. I can see it now the next dps job is going to have like three buttons available at lvl 50
Knew it Cider couldn't stop HE CANNOT STOP EVER!!!. FF14 has become his soul.
It's definitely one perk of being a RDM main in earlier expansions; your toolkit is largely complete at level 50 unlike most jobs, minus your melee combo finishers and buff skills.
RDM is ridiculous at low levels. Dualcasting AoEs in Sastasha is _mental_
I don't care if I am overcapping on synced stuff.
this lala be ballin' af!
The DRG in our party was vlearly on free trial and they were better geared. They even had more HP than the PLD.. UPGRADE YOUR GEAR
Lilies sooner than Heavensward!!! WHM is way more fun in DT but every time I do MSQ roulette I want to cry. It’s been my main since I started playing and now it hurts so much to go back. Even just having the healing lilies sooner would make such a huge difference into the fun of the job.
