- For this project you will need lightweight spackle,craft paint ,a glass,paper straw paper or glass bowl,fake sprinkles ,fake nuts(Korn Cob bedding),gloss modge podge and a fake cherry.Happy crafting!
I am new. I made my first strawberry shake with whip cream, chocolate sprinkles, & nuts with a cherry on top❤️. It is so cute. Now I am making a mint ice cream using foam circles mini brownie chunks around it & chocolate sauce.. whipped top w mini brownie chunk on it. All brownie chunks have fake nuts. So cute! I have fallen in love with your amazing talent. I am also in Canada ( Ontario) and have been struggling to find any faux cherries. Anything I have found online are all from overseas..... I would love to get my hands on about 10- 20 of them so I can make some desserts for my grand daughters 2nd birthday that is coming up in a few weeks.

Just an idea. You could line the glasses with wax paper and pull it out once you’ve filled them so the sides stay clean?? Just a thought :-)

I meant to add...I am super picky about frosting and drizzles and hot choc sauce or hot fudge or whatever and I find paint and mod podge just looks flat and dried out months or even a year later. I found, wuite by accident when I sewed fake Cinnamon Buns (I make a lot of Primitive home decor crafts and make all different kind of fake food, lol, bc for some reason Primitive decor always has fake food out like cakes and breads and muffins on display on old bread boards and wood bowls)......ANWAY, I used a 3D or Dimensional paint for fabric as the white drizzle frosting on those and thought they looked SO good that I said Hmmm, and tried it on my dough ones and it held up and looks so real even a yr later. SO, when I made fake Ice Cream, I used the Scribbles fabric paint (Ive since used all different brands, and even Dollar Tree brand there was no difference) in "Hot Chocolate" brown, make sure its Shiny (it says right on the bottle) and just drizzled it on the fake ice cream and it looks SO good. Because its a 3D paint, it stays raised and dries like that and it stays "shiny" which actually makes it look wet, even a yr on. I like the results MUCH better than Mod Podge, it just looks much more real to me esp as time goes on.

@@thepinktree3490 I did the Pudding easter desserts with the caulking and paint and it is nice and thick too!...but I think you'll like the 3d paint even better. Just make sure its shiny, because thats what makes it look wet more than "shiny". I love it, even a year later it still looks like I just put it on...Lol, I made the hair conditioner & cornstarch ice cream, but it dried out and fell apart after about 6 months (maybe I put too much cornstarch, I still have half a bottle of conditioner, so I may try again just to use it up), so I got spackle to try that now instead...the ice cream looks terrible, but the choc on top still looks great, hahaa!!!

I think some people use modge podge and craft paint but if you use resin and craft paint it will give it more of a transparent look!

Yes I display them in my home but I also give some as gifts and sell some as well!

your mixed colored spackle. containers ... do you use just a simple air tight container to store them... and once mixed ...how long will it last in containers ?
bev crabtree Yes and they will last for quite a few months!Sometimes I add water to the mixture as it may dry out a tad and sometimes I put them in a new container because the edges tend to dry out .

Lol, I forgot where the Spackle was at my local Home Depot and had to ask the guy and he brought me to the section and he was like there is this brand and then there is brand as he pointed to the LITTLE tiny containers and then he says and then theres a bit bigger container here as he points to a little bit bigger one...but NOT big enough for what I needed bc Im always going back for 2 of the medium sized ones...I said Ohhh, wait, is THAT Lightweight too?? As I pointed to the bottom shelf where the was a Gallon size, lol! He was like OH, Ya, thats also lightweight! Lol! I said I have a LOT of frosting and Ice Cream to make, grabbed my bucket and walked off to get some wood pieces for another project!
Anytime I see you pull out your bucket I think Hmmm, she must buy it in BULK, LOL!

How do you do chocolate to run on the outside of the glass?
There is a little room between the glass and the spackle :)
How long does lightweight sparkle take to dry?
It can take a few days to a week depending on how thick it is!I dry mine usually in the sun!
I just heard about the spackle and I'm not familiar to that. Haha Does it get hard when it dries? Thanks!

That can happen!Just glue it back in with regular white glue!

hi i need to ask you a question i made a sunday a small one in a glass small glass for my granddaughter it had just two small scoops of fake ice cream and a few dec and fake sprinkles well this was two months ago my daughter called me and told me she had to throw it out because there was mold toward the bottom have you ever had mold in any of you ice creams ? my friend told me to add some moisture beads to the cup to absorb the moisture i don’t understand why there would be mold ? do you you ? have you ever had that happen to you
As I responded in your other comment I’ve never seen mold even in my stored containers of it!Just sit it in the sun or warm place for a week after you make it!.Hopefully that will help that problem!

Hi!I never store spackle in piping bags!Just air tight containers!However if I’m not quite done working on something and want to keep the spackle in the piping bag for a few more hours I put it in a bag and put a wet piece of paper towel on the tip!

now i did the same thing as you are doing just small and mold appeared
In all my years of using spackle I have never seen mold!I know some people do!Just make sure your project dries really well and put it in the sun or on a window sill above a radiator:)
Can you substitute something else for flour, I am worried about bugs
Some people use baby powder or plaster of Paris but trust me you will never get bugs!

I was using the Russian tips. The one with the ball that gives the ruffle look. It's only with this tip that it happens I have no problem with the regular tips. Thank you
