same lol. started in december 2013 (i was 7) just wanted to download it (fl) because of ICON lol. and i didn't knew how to use it so i ran bandicam and started to do stupid live shit for 6 minutes. this was the first time. 5.5 fucking years later..

@@brandonbrandino i tried when i was 14 and never even finished a track, i'm back at it at 18 and i'm actually making progress. i agree that with age i think it becomes easier to hear what stuff sounds good and what doesn't, probably just due to having more exposure to different types of music

This is crazy to see from a fans perspective. I remember finding future house towards the end of 2014 when I first heard Tchami, and I was immediately hooked. I remember finding you too through the few future house youtube channels, and can't believe that the Lean On remix was your first release? I had no idea that as I was finding my own taste in music, I was also listening to producers who were only just finding their sounds too. I had just assumed all the producers were well established and experienced as this sort of sound was exactly my style! So cool.

Wow this is so inspiring! I remember playing What You Want at many dj sets back in 2015, it was my go-to Future House tune that no other djs were playing. I'm 20 now and I'm still on a similar journey.
Ive heard a couple of your songs while going out in clubs etc., quite cool to see how you started out producing! Its actually quite inspiring and motivational to see how you improved, and made your hobby your job!
Lesson from this video is no one starts good, good appears only if you're highly experienced. Hope this inspires you all ☺

Colin Beeren Monstercat and Avicii are responsible for a serious music slump that we’re just getting out of.
But you are kinda right about the track though

@@michaelgilmore4267 It just gave rise to a lot of generic sounding music with no impact or presence. The difference between one song and the next was negligable. Avicii launched that like super happy 'panpipe' sound, but it was happy in a bad way. And monstercat was partially responsible for killing dubstep- too many muddled sounding tracks with no particular defining element- a characteristic that followed in the other genres on the channel.
Like compare Flux Pavilion to most dubstep on Monstercat (dubstep is a bit off topic but its easier for me to explain) Flux's tracks are clear and very deep and memorable because they handle a complex sound in a clear, clever, simple way. Monstercat was just like a ton of tigers in a prison- chaos most of the time, just indisciminate crawls and screeches.
It took 10 years, but you are very progress and obviously improved. I have to do my best like you. Thank you for always giving a helpful video!

I think what’s funny about starting off when producing is that we all tend to think more is better. Simple is key, not having too many elements at the same time and making sure they work good together
4 years ago when I was still in high school, I took the bike every morning. The first track on the playlist I had was your song 'What You Want' and it was there for like a month or something since I didn't add new songs to the playlist (and I searched far and wide for new songs). Beside that it was on my... lets call it 'messed up' playlist, which me and my friends would just smash ourselves to x) What a journey you have been on, and it is amazing to see how you have evolved and still are. You definitely shaped my way of music! =D
