Great video Karen. Stitching is lovely as is the quilting. Enjoy both! A wise woman told me when I started quilting that the only thing perfect is God. I remember that whenever I have to "improvise" to correct a missed stitch, etc. Thank you for taking the time to share your work. Until next time.

Hi Karen. Thank you for sharing your love of cross stitch and quilts. I also do both and have since the 80’s but took a break from cross stitching until a couple of years ago. So many wonderful designers now. I love houses too. I am making a very similar quilt as yours. Thank you for your inspiration. Happy stitching. ❤️🪡🍂 Linnie from The SABLE Stitchers.

I'm a quilter, too, and love seeing your quilts and your samplers. I would add Jean Farish as a floss tube to watch for tips and beginner's tutorials. Also, look at what's in the can of the spray aging solution. I cringe inside when I hear that people are using that, after all the work and trouble to use acid-free products to FFO!

@@karenmaloley1750 I just remember seeing quilts that had been marked with the blue disappearing ink markers. the ink did disappear, but sadly, over time, so did the fabric that had been marked. I have heard Jacob mention that he planned to dip his completed project in a tea or coffee solution. that would work unless there's a concern about the dyes in the floss running. yikes! i hope you keep us apprised on what you decide to do!

I have loved watching your floss tubes. I have been a quilter for over twenty five years and have come back to cross stitching during the last two years. Your stitching is just amazing. I would love to see stitch’s for a beginner as I only stitch on Aida, I am very intimidated by the linen but love the look. I have watched Jean Farrish videos but would love to watch another. I also love The Nightly Stitcher. Thank you for showing your quilts.

Thanks for sharing I enjoyed your video! I love house quilts too! Lol stitching over another color floss to fix a mistake or to just make a change is perfectly okay! It's a great time saver and can sometimes prevent damaging your piece. I've been known to do that myself. I once had an extra stitch that had to go away. It looked bad but taking it out would require also removing many other stitches so wallah I stitched over it with floss that matched the fabric! It disappeared and I happily stitched on! Oh when stuffing a pillow with a split in the back with lizard litter I start stitching the opening closed as I stuff so as I am just about finished stuffing I only have a hole big enough to fit the funnel into which allows me to really top off the filling.

Have a good time at B&N in Lexington. I am fortunate to have the B&N in my town and I meet with a group of stitchers every Tuesday morning and then of course we go out to lunch. As President of my local Quilt Guild, I can attest that there are longarm quilters as members who will quilt for us and the general public. Rose Aida Featherstone was also my birthday start in February. I bought the kit from Hobby House Needlecrafts and it came with Soie d'Alger silks. They are a dream to stitch with.

Thanks so much for another informative and inspiring FT! Loved all your projects -thanks for sharing your project bags. I’ve made several and I know what you mean about the weight of the vinyl - I harvested vinyl from the bags that held comforters and sheet sets and found it’s not very robust, but still works, as you say! Your quilts are wonderful and I agree about houses - they are inherent in quilters and also now in stitcheries as well. Enjoyed so much!

Thanks for giving me the heads up that they are not great. I always save them and use them to keep my quilt projects on my shelf (top, backing, binding) so they stay together and don't get dusty. I appreciate your compliment on my quilts. Thanks for stopping by. Best, K

The FQS SAL has been fun. I made my project bags with all fabric, no vinyl, yet was thinking of making one with vinyl, so thanks for the tip to get the heavier one. If I try the lizard litter, I'm thinking put some it for the weight, line my cross stitch, and the rest use with fiber-fil. Pennies sound good to use. Haaa , My DMC floss chart only goes up to I think 3799, and I keep saying I gotta get a new one! Love the quilt! WOW!!! 365, it's beautiful!! Cool dragon fly add.

Welcome back, Dee. I really like the vinyl front project bags. For the stand ups, I use fiber fill in the top part and then switch to lizard litter to put more weight toward the bottom. Those DMC charts are pricey, so I understand your hesitancy to invest in a new one. Thanks for your comment on the close up of Underwater Rhapsody. Stay well. Best, K

Hi Karen. I broke down a few months ago and invested in a DMC color card and it has been well worth it. I have used it a lot to compare a color on a pattern picture and find a DMC to match it. I just used it yesterday actually as I was starting a new cross stitch and had a partial skein of an overdyed floss that was supposed to be used but there wasn’t enough. I put a strand of it over the red row in the DMC color card and found a near perfect match! I don’t have a LNS anywhere near me so the DMC color card has been very useful. See you next time. 😊

Wow! That house quilt is amazing! I can't ever keep up with make-alongs regardless of the craft - way too many squirrel moments, although, to toot my own horn, I'm really good at start-alongs! Haha!

Karen, another great video and enjoy seeing your cross stitch and quilts as I do both also. Funny, I was making a project bag today to house my Mighty Acorn cross stitch to begin soon like yours! I also used to blog a few years back as a quilter and began the house quilt but didn’t keep up with it. You made an amazing quilt!! Thanks again and I know you will enjoy the DMC floss chart - I use mine frequently!!

Karen, thank you for another video. You certainly are a prolific stitcher. To answer your inquiry regarding you making a beginners video, I feel we can't have too many of those because we can always learn new ways of doing things...and I feel the same way about Stitch With Me Videos. If I could watch you stitch and just pick up one thing that would increase my speed, that would be great. Mind you, the fun is in the journey I do believe, but it wouldn't hurt to have the fun go a little faster!. I am particularly slow due to Rheumatoid Arthritis but I'll be darned if I let it put me out of commission when it comes to stitching or knitting!!! Keep putting out the videos...I love them!

I am planning to enter it in the state fair next year. Thank you for your good wishes on our FL home. The first and best news from our park is that all residents who remained during the storm are well. People in our park are making assessments from the exterior and will let us snowbirds what they see from the outside. The basic comment so far is that there is much less tree debris, siding and insulation debris than from earlier storms. Most, so far, seem to be car port roofs and sunrooms.
