ive had my zealot s2 for about a week now. got around 200km on it. lemme tell u, this board SHREDS. from the sound it makes, to the ambient lights, this thing is all around awesome.
Wow man, this is the best looking esk8 review I've ever seen ! From that sick intro with all the neon colors , then to the ride through the streets w/ those subtle "after-effects" they only last for a sec or two but I really liked it for w/e reason. Props to you and your crew for all those cool cinematic riding angles, this is gonna be a hard one for y'all to top but I got faith in ya! The board itself seems amazing for what you get at that price point, will definitely be recommending this if anyone ever asks about a beginner board. It costs slightly more than all the other $500 or so budget boards, but completely blows them out of the water in terms of features. Did you do the voice acting for the Medic in TF2, almost sounds like it, the german accent and everyting lol. Amazing job dudes, this video is an inspiring work!👍🤙

Both the S2 and X are fast, we got both to top speed which is just over 30mph. The X though just gets there faster as it has bigger motors than the S2. I’m 220 lbs and had a BLAST on both boards! You really won’t be disappointed with either!

I believe I have a g2 on the way for review. Maybe worth waiting to see how it feels under my feet. The v5 was a good board, v3s was better, the Tyne ultra hub is even better bang for your buck I just posted that video up if you’re looking at hub drive boards!
Hey Drew! Thanks for the video that was very well made! I’m torn between the Flex ER and the Zealot S2, as both are the exact same price here in Canada. I love the look of the Flex ER, but the Zealot S2 has a tiny bit more range. I also really love the free mode of the Exway board where you can reverse without a button. What are your thoughts? I’d love to know. Thanks!
Alright. Perfect comparison! So, if free mode is your only problem, the Halo remote as a switch on it that you can easily flip to go straight into reverse mode and than flip back to go forward. So it’s not triple clicking a button or going into a menu very easy to do. The flex ER is a nice deck but not as flexy as you’d think, same kinda goes for the S2. I can’t speak for the looks becuase beauty is in the eye of the beholder but they both are good looking boards, though I would say the lights are a really really nice touch on backfires part. They look gorgeous in day time and at night time especially. But if you don’t do a lot of night riding than you’re decision is even harder haha. Honestly you can’t go wrong with either one, both have great power and control. Hope you dig the content man, make sure to thumbs up and subscribe if you haven’t yet!!

I keep seeing the green lights in review videos. Are those a feature? I thought purple was the only color. Got my S2 yesterday. Love it, only complaint is I'm worried my range test came back kinda weak.
Oh, I would say personal preference! The led lights are cool, and the remote features are nice and it’s a very smooth powerful esc. but Tynee uses molicel batteries which have better discharge rate very powerful torque motors, and customer service is fantastic!
@@DrewElia The Zealot has 45km range as opposed to 42km with the Tynee. I must confess I'm not into speed yet as i'm just a beginner, I need to build up my skills then eventually yes I might get into racy boards. For now, I just want to have fun & get out there on something that rides for long. you think the Samsung in the Zealot are going to be worse than the Molincel? like I said, the visibility & fun factor of the remote just slaughters anything in this price range.
The flex pro has a much “flexy” deck than the Zealot, it also has the app and a smart remote allowing you to control and fine tune your board. Honestly it comes down to preference between the two. I love them both for different reasons
That’s what I did, I shoot professionally for commercial work and weddings ect ect. But when work slowed down from the pandemic I said let me try something for me, here we are little over a year Later! Can’t wait to see the content you make!
Thanks so much for checking out the video my man! So we were riding pretty hard, 20-25 mph stop and go traffic, at the half way point of the day I was at 13 miles and had 49% battery life. I charged up for 45-1 hour and got back up to 97% just cause we were going to be out filming a lot more at night time and I wanted to make sure I had the range. We ended with 22 miles and I was back down to 76% when I got on the ferry home. I would say with my weight and how we were ripping it I could expect mid 20s for range. If I was on sport mode or even eco mode I could get it up to 30miles riding relaxed. But I was having way to much fun flying around 😂 I’ll be doing a full range test video as well to test from 💯 - 0 and I’ll Post about that as well. Hey drew just wondering what app you might use for tracking your board travels just got my zealot s2 and have trying to source the best app to use for it
So on this day in the city riding around I drained the battery to about half way and that was 11-12 miles of riding, we then charged it back up cause we wanted to do more night riding and I believe I ended the day with over 20 miles and still had more than half battery life, on these wheels you could get in the mid 20’s miles of range pending your riding style and weight. Now with the 110 cloud wheel rovers I feel like I get less range but more comfort
You can’t go wrong with either one, the X will Have a bit more range, and power. but the S2 is honestly a really really really nice board for the price to performance spec. The X will get you there quicker with the more powerful motors, but the S2 still hits 30 mph….sooo do you need to go faster? 😂 honestly both of them are fantastic boards. Either or you can set up the way that the board’s acceleration breaking mode and top speed. So it’s completely customizable to you as a new rider! I mean any board can be taught on, this has customizable settings to lower the acceleration and max speed as well. So yes I would you can absolutely do that

you've peaked my interest, haha. i agree, the electric skateboard is a pretty good device for personal mobility. though I think that ebike might be slightly better, you can carry more with you on a cargo ebike. but if i can have a 100 mile range board and be able to carry stuff with me sign me up for my zombie slashing day!

Dr Esk8 reminds me of Freud 👀 S2 has the nicer lights for me , breathin mode 🔥 Those streets have got craters lol 😱 I'm used to ridin rough roads on a mini with 85mm wheels but even I would probably struggle on some of those streets 👀 Smart BMS 👏🏼👏🏼 Try usin the finger print sensor after your thumb has been on your grip tape 😂 I prefer simple remotes cos they last longer, it's great havin a lot of features but we need a bigger battery in the remote the ability to switch the screen off to conserve remote battery. Dr. Esk8 is here to analyze your deepest dreams haha. breathing mode is sick, I think its one of my favorites. I wanted to test the Zealot S2 out on some rough roads, and I think we hit the roughest one possible haha. Not all of NYC is horrible but its definitely not the best. Smart BMS is a huge plus, being able to see individual cells and voltage is amazing! the finger print reader is okay, I might be leaving that feature off unless im in a group ride where I put my remote in my bag a bunch or in my pocket or if I leave it on the board no one can come grab it and race off. I agree the best feature ( halo remote) is also the worst with the battery. just kinda crazy to me that I would have to charge it almost every ride, im going to do a range test video with it and just confirm my findings. I knew collaborating with another film maker would benefit and Corey and I have a lot of great ideas and ability to bounce them off each other. The deck is slightly stiffer than the flex pro, though it absolutely has flex to it. Can absolutely absorb cracks bumps every. I mean look at the road conditions I was riding in and still was able to get over them!
That’s a hard choice! The flex pro is a gorgeous board but the zealot really offers a serious amount of features and monitoring as well. The flex pro is more powerful but it depends on really you, the looks and performance of the zealot l, or the stealth look and power of the flex pro! You won’t be disappointed with either one honestly!
Tough to say, two different style of batteries. 14s2p and a 12s3p But I feel like they would be similar, maybe the s2 would have a little bit more just cause of the WH and the higher voltage efficiency with the battery choices. But the flex pro comes with a 210 fast charger out of the gate so it can charge the board up really quickly. I hope that made sense? @@jameswillson2000 so they are the same company but technically two different boards. The zealot 2s ( pink ) and the zealot X (blue) the X is more money because it has more range and more power, and better trucks. So it really depends on your needs vs the color I would say

Backfire stepped up big time since the S2 and X are selling well. Love my X. Has enough power to climb uphill since SF has plenty of them.

Camers i use is Sony a7iv 24-70 f2.8 GM, insta360 x3, mavic pro 2 drone perfect run and gun set up. DJI ronin s gimbal as well.

Smart BMS is a huge plus, being able to see individual cells and voltage is amazing!
the finger print reader is okay, I might be leaving that feature off unless im in a group ride where I put my remote in my bag a bunch or in my pocket or if I leave it on the board no one can come grab it and race off.
I agree the best feature ( halo remote) is also the worst with the battery. just kinda crazy to me that I would have to charge it almost every ride, im going to do a range test video with it and just confirm my findings.
I knew collaborating with another film maker would benefit and Corey and I have a lot of great ideas and ability to bounce them off each other. Its good to have like minded people who also challenge you as well.

Is the Deck stiffer than Exway flex pro and can it absorp Bumps, bad surfaces and road vibration? Thanks in advice!
The deck is slightly stiffer than the flex pro, though it absolutely has flex to it. Can absolutely absorb cracks bumps every. I mean look at the road conditions I was riding in and still was able to get over them!

That’s a hard choice! The flex pro is a gorgeous board but the zealot really offers a serious amount of features and monitoring as well. The flex pro is more powerful but it depends on really you, the looks and performance of the zealot l, or the stealth look and power of the flex pro! You won’t be disappointed with either one honestly!

Tough to say, two different style of batteries. 14s2p and a 12s3p But I feel like they would be similar, maybe the s2 would have a little bit more just cause of the WH and the higher voltage efficiency with the battery choices. But the flex pro comes with a 210 fast charger out of the gate so it can charge the board up really quickly. I hope that made sense? @@jameswillson2000 so they are the same company but technically two different boards. The zealot 2s ( pink ) and the zealot X (blue) the X is more money because it has more range and more power, and better trucks. So it really depends on your needs vs the color I would say

Thanks so much for checking out the review! The zealot X was a fantastic board as well! The power was noticeably different but both were very powerful and smooth. The X just got there quicker to top speed

There is some flex yes. But it is stuffer than the original zealot series
They didn't bring shit back from the future, these boards are incredibly overpriced.
