That is the horror of stockmarkets. It's not good enough that companies are making a profit, no. They must continually expand and grow their profits, no matter the ethical costs of doing so. Lives do not matter as long as the profit margin increases. One of the best things we could do for humanity is get rid of stock markets...
I have found that Singapore Airlines have increased their ticket prices quite a lot in the last couple of years compared to the other Asian airlines...read Malaysian and Cathay Pacific. This will have an effect of people looking for cheaper seats to the same destinations. I would love to fly Singapore again but it is getting hard to justify 40% higher tickets than the competition.
Singapore Airlines has a debt/equity ratio of 0.82, the best in the world of airlines. This is due to its over 7.3$ billion (SGD) cash reserve equivalent to 5.4$ USD. It has a 44$ SGD total asset as of March 2024, its annual financial year. Singapore added 33 new airplanes since 2021/22 (ending March 2022).
Avgeek emotions aside, first question to ask is whether Singapore Airlines fifth freedom route(Especially MXP-BCN leg) Are Actually making a turnover for SQ?
DJ, as an honourary Canadian you really need to reconsider how you pronounce Toronto. Loosen it up and let some elision take place and give us a “Trawna” that would make your fans in the 416 proud of you.
@dj’savation thanks for not stating like another TH-camr that AC is starting a new route to Port of Spain 🇹🇹 only thing is they use to operate once daily flight in the daytime, they’re resuming as they use to when they last switched the arrival time to 🇹🇹 to arriving in the night so no chance of plane spotting this airline unless they change its arrival time 😅
Singapore Airlines could do with a new livery . . . with a modest fleet of A350-900 ULR wide body jets Turkish can operate Istanbul (ISN) - Sydney (SYD) non-stop . . .
My goodness, while I'm impressed with your research and reporting, but you really need to learn that adding superfluous words is not a sign of intelligence, rather quite the opposite. Effective brevity is a useful functional skill...
@@dartetovboth the excess length of videos and use of pointless filler words over and over again, are offputting and undermine the quality of reporting.
@@dartetov And it's a shame because there is good research here, but I cannot stand being subjected to people who try to make themselves sound "better" or more intelligent by adding words when they misuse those words. It's excrutiating.
4:38 Just used Cathay Pacific as a economy passenger. Marvelous A350 flight Paris to Hong Kong. Okay A330-300 flight to Cebu. The A330 starts to show age.
Well, a 500 million-dollar profit following a 50% drop is hardly a sign of struggle.

Singapore still has their brand & their way of doing things.

Comparing SQ with MH and CX don't stack up. SQ is in a different league compared to the other 2.
You can choose a premium carrier, but you don't have to. Singapore airlines clearly is a premium carrier.
Air Canada is a solid Airline…😆😆😆😆

Slight correction - Port of Spain is in Trinidad in the Caribbean and not Europe.
Thanks for giving Boeing their well deserved break
Not quite deserved, but still nice I guess 😅
Don't worry, they will be back soon enough. Or today you can switch to mentour now! for the daily dose.
😉
I just spent $7000 for a Sea-Changi flight last summer….😊😊😊

less is more...these videos can be concise if you don't repeat the same information with just different words...
Great video once again. Thanks for all the info!
Great job DJ! Thank you!
Great video, thanks for the info.
Thank you Dj!!

I feel like the script is probably AI generated
He purposefully does this to make the video around 10 minutes because that’s the sweet spot for monetization by TH-cam.

@ you won’t hear me disagreeing with you on that. Many a time I’ve given up watching the video when he’s been exceptionally bad.

Singapore airlines is not a good service.
Food service is poor.

About Cathay Pacific: the importance of the well organized Hong Kong hub.
