A lot of people don't know this, but my roots are actually in classical piano. But, it’s been a while since I’ve really had the chance to dive into that world. So, when William Joseph, an absolutely incredible pianist, hit me up with the idea of doing something together, I mentioned a “dueling pianos” concept and he was all in! It’s been a long time since I’ve been part of a piano-centric song, let alone a music video. And “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC? …PERFECT for what we had in mind. We thought, why not take this rock anthem and flip it into a classical piano duel, with this massive cinematic score rolling underneath. That was the vision. We’ve been talking about this idea for a couple of years, fine-tuning it, figuring out how to intertwine our parts seamlessly into something that not only pays homage to the original but also stands on its own as this epic, movie-like musical experience. Then the crazy music video just took it to the next level - filmed in a warehouse in Phoenix AZ, with pianos that look like Batman, and a Tesla coil striking our pianos with lightning as we play! The dueling piano concept is extremely cool, and genius!
As for the Tesla coil, well, there's been a few Tesla music performers, and even a few who sat on top of them( not Musical ones sadly) throwing Sparks out of their bare hands(.
Having the two pianos sort of appear to pull the lightning is a lovely blend of musical instrumentation and the elements!( I assume the coil was playing the notes as well in that warehouse, shame the video doesn't capture that since we had to hear the music track lol

The absolute genius behind this whole idea and song choice and the video and the Tesla coil and those ridiculous customized pianos is on another level. I’ve always been a HUGE fan of Tommee’s work, but now I an even bigger respect for both of these talented individuals. The choir when the pianos transformed just gave me chills, it was PERFECT. Awesome work. Tommee is a today’s modern day Beethoven. And this mashup between ridiculous pianists was awesome. And the song choice, perfect.
