On a whim, my wife bought me the GA-2000 5a, which is the tan version. I hadn't given it enough attention until recently and have started wearing it much more often. Honestly I hadn't looked at the features very much or given them much thought but after doing some research I really appreciate what this watch offers.

I bought this exact same watch (dark green), as well as the tan model. I liked them so much that I “had” to have both! 🙄 But, then, I wondered what they would look like if I swapped the straps - green watch with the tan strap and vice versa. In my opinion, they look so much better that way! They’re each two-tone now, instead of one uniform color. I think they’re much more interesting to look at, and the tan and green colors are quite compatible. So, if anyone else is crazy enough to buy both, you might want to consider swapping the straps. You might like it! 👍🏼

I'm a watch enthusiast & Casio G Shock nerd🤓 and this watch is super cool. Just got mine yesterday and surprised how legible the small numbers appear in the 3 & 6 o'clock windows on the dial. I generally struggle with reading the numbers when the font is that small but not with this watch. Truly love it! The weight is surprisingly lightweight and a pleasure to wear. Great review!!👍🤜🤛
They're definitely hard to read. I will admit that my angles and glare in this content wasn't the best. I will also admit, I only use this watch as an analogue wrist watch. I've probably used the other function more in the time I made this content than the last few years since making it 😀 thank you for watching my friend

Thanks for the kind words. The Mudman is a bit of a Frankenstein. It started out as a GA9000-8V, however the strap went and it got super dirty so I changed the case and straps for a casio official grey and orange (sorry I can't remember the number). It's definitely unique with the grey and orange, and white face

Good review. I personally will only buy solar powered watches. You can get them in G-shock. I like the peace of mind that you never need to replace the battery because in the past it's stopped me using the alarm, light and time signal features to preserve battery life. I've got an 18 year old Citizen Eco Drive and a 17 year old Casio Wave Ceptor Tough Solar and they are both still going strong. I'm getting a Casio Tough Solar for Xmas which is great value for £35
Hi TLR, I think I need to long term test out some solar watches (maybe a piece of TH-cam content 20 years in the making 😂) . I've never owned one but that's not really out of choice and more just never really found one I like... Although there is a Citizen ECO drive that does look nice. I bought this watch and have noticed that the light button is quite loose compared to other buttons on the watch . Please let me know that is this normal or I gotta take my watch at the service centre .
Hi AC. The button on mine does have a bit of give to it. It is a little bit more lose than the other button but nothing I'd concern myself with. Personally I'd go to a watch shop and try on a watch. Play with the button to see if it's similar to yours. It's a easier and cheap way to check 😂 hope you get it sorted. Have a great weekend
That's a great question Rohan. If you're worried, always ask the seller for more photos to check against original images of a watches you know are real. Check for the find detail. It's hard one really. If they already have lots of images, ask to have a certain one from a different angle to see if they'll send you one. I think if you're worried then go with you gut... it usually right. Hope that helps buddy

These are great, stylish, low-profile watches with integral bands that hug your wrist and look darn good. I have the military matte color set - desert tan, navy blue, army green, aqua blue, and an aqua blue with an orange band for times when I'm at the coast and on a boat. Flat love and wear em all! Good job Casio!

Now I am looking to buy a new one and I am in dilema, I like this one especialy in this color but I already have Swatch in this color so I am looking at full black 5600, classic 5610 or this one...and as you know I would like them all. I have a couple that are the correct lug width but I haven't got round to getting some springs for them 😄 I really hope Casio continue making traditional style lug attachments. Yes, it definitely choose this one. 1. it looks less GShockie and more like a nice outdoors watch 2. the Bluetooth and step counting will reduce the battery time on the GBA-800-1AER 3. The 'normal' style lugs on the GS-2000 make the watch sit on your wrist easier and it's a very comfortable watch to wear all the time I'll definitely add the GBA-800-1AER to my list to check out and make some content on. @@MoorlanderEDC Well I received the watch. I love the looks of it. I got the time set which seemed like rocket science at first but it ended up being easy. The only thing I don't like is I wish the band was softer, perhaps silicone instead of a hard plastic. Hopefully I will get used to it. I have a 20 dollar Casio which I like and the band is even harder plastic but it seems to contour better. Anyway I love the tan color. I wish the light would light up the whole face. Overall though neat watch and fun new toy.
Glad you like it. I found the band does sit reasonably well once worn in. The beauty as well is you can change the band for any other 24mm band with the open lugs. That's some great 3rd party pands out there. I've seen these with a tan a to band and they look killer
@@MoorlanderEDC Yes I love the nato bands. So...the band it came with.... I put it in the bottom of a coffee mug and poured boiling water on it and let it sit for 5 min. Then poured ice water on it and let it sit for 5 min. Now it is perfectly contoured. I found this tip googling around. Super pleased now.
I bought this watch pretty much on the strength of your review. Got it today and so far so good I've not delved too far into it yet. Found the time a bit annoying to set but watched a tutorial. I thought it was going to big on my wrist but it's not at all. It looks good and feels comfortable on my wrist. I bought the black version and already considering buying another colour.
Hi Mark, thank you for commenting here. The watch is deceptive in it's size. On paper it's larger than other GShocks out there but still wears like a smaller watch. I definitely think the traditional style lugs and rounded edges really help with that. Be careful getting another one... that's a slippery slope brother 😅 Have a top weekend buddy

The only thing that has annoyed me is that I've got to work out how put the time forward tomorrow night. Hi Mark, I don't think it's too hard. If you have BST set up on your watch when you go through the Adjust menu it'll say 'Off' when you're scrolling through. Change that to 'On' and it'll add an hour to British Summer Time. I think light is the very last option in the Adjust menu. It'll say light in the 3 o'clock screen and 1 (seconds) in the 6 o'clock screen. If you use mode button, it'll change to 3 (seconds). I think 3 seconds is the longest you can set. Hope this helps buddy

You can pretty much replace the buckle with a metallic one.. the watch itself is so nice that it isn't worth it to pass because of that small part.. I also didn't like the plastic buckle, and got myself some nato straps, very cheap to fix that problem

@@MoorlanderEDC Well I received the watch. I love the looks of it. I got the time set which seemed like rocket science at first but it ended up being easy. The only thing I don't like is I wish the band was softer, perhaps silicone instead of a hard plastic. Hopefully I will get used to it. I have a 20 dollar Casio which I like and the band is even harder plastic but it seems to contour better. Anyway I love the tan color. I wish the light would light up the whole face. Overall though neat watch and fun new toy.
Glad you like it. I found the band does sit reasonably well once worn in. The beauty as well is you can change the band for any other 24mm band with the open lugs. That's some great 3rd party pands out there. I've seen these with a tan a to band and they look killer
@@MoorlanderEDC Yes I love the nato bands. So...the band it came with.... I put it in the bottom of a coffee mug and poured boiling water on it and let it sit for 5 min. Then poured ice water on it and let it sit for 5 min. Now it is perfectly contoured. I found this tip googling around. Super pleased now.
Buy this or ga-2100 ?
Hmmmm... I had the GA-2100 and returned it. There's a piece of content on here. I much prefer this one out of the two. Hope that helps 👍

I bought this watch pretty much on the strength of your review. Got it today and so far so good I've not delved too far into it yet. Found the time a bit annoying to set but watched a tutorial. I thought it was going to big on my wrist but it's not at all. It looks good and feels comfortable on my wrist. I bought the black version and already considering buying another colour.
Hi Mark, thank you for commenting here. The watch is deceptive in it's size. On paper it's larger than other GShocks out there but still wears like a smaller watch. I definitely think the traditional style lugs and rounded edges really help with that. Be careful getting another one... that's a slippery slope brother 😅 Have a top weekend buddy
@@MoorlanderEDC Hi no problem. It's a great size watch and have just worn it all day for the first time. The only thing that has annoyed me is that I've got to work out how put the time forward tomorrow night. I'm already on that slippery slope and have been for years and slipped off it many times as well. Can't decide between the blue or green. Cheers you too.

Hi Mark, I don't think it's too hard. If you have BST set up on your watch when you go through the Adjust menu it'll say 'Off' when you're scrolling through. Change that to 'On' and it'll add an hour to British Summer Time. I think light is the very last option in the Adjust menu. It'll say light in the 3 o'clock screen and 1 (seconds) in the 6 o'clock screen. If you use mode button, it'll change to 3 (seconds). I think 3 seconds is the longest you can set. Hope this helps buddy
Sorry I meant to say use the 'Start' button to change the available choice. The Mode button scrolls through the options

I bought today GA-2100 all black but it seems too small (7 inch wrist). I am now considering to buy this one instead Casio oak. Please comment.
The GA2000 is way better. I have a similar sized wrist and this sits really well and it a great proportion for a larger wrist. If you do get one, please come back. I'd love to hear what you think about it. Have a great weekend buddy

Plastic Buckle = Over my dead body.
It did seem a strange choice. If it was a weight saving thing a lightweight aluminium clasp would have still worked. Luckily that third party strap market is there. Thanks for watching Morons (that's something I never thought I'd write in my comments 😂😂😂) and stay well 🤙
You can pretty much replace the buckle with a metallic one.. the watch itself is so nice that it isn't worth it to pass because of that small part.. I also didn't like the plastic buckle, and got myself some nato straps, very cheap to fix that problem
