    listenedto this video😊 five times but I’ve never actually watch it until now. It’s so tranquil and melodic.
    I love getting out and exploring new fossil localities. So I’m glad you got to find a new beach to scavenge. it really makes you use your brain when you’re pushed out of your normal comfort zone with the sedimentary matrixes you’re used too.

    I love your videos. And for me one of the best parts is those timelapse drives. I've never been to NZ and this gives me a good feel for what it is like there. Don't get me wrong: I'm fascinated by the fossils you find as well and the journey you take to get to them, but the driving part always makes me so cheerful :)

      Enjoy your trip! It’s a beautiful place to visit. A place you won’t forget. South Island is the best :) it’s bigger here than people think and I don’t think people give themselves enough time to see everything and there is sooo much to see. Oh and if you are coming in the warmer months don’t forget the top of the South Island, so many people miss it, but it’s a paradise up there. Able Tasman National park. Don’t miss it :) ❤ love from the South Island of New Zealand 🇳🇿

      It's when the crystals get broken up and pushed over by strain, like books in a bookcase. You can apparently tell things about the direction of strain but I don't know enough yet!

    Though they are similar to penguin tracks, I think they’re Oystercatcher. The way the toe tips are in deeper than the rest of the foot.
    Penguins tend to be heavy on the heel, and their steps are close together.

    How do people drive on that side of the road!

    • @valiantwarrior4517
      @valiantwarrior4517 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was totally thinking that. Driving becomes so ingrained into your subconscious thoughts and reactions that it feels so alien even just to see it.

      In the Buller Gorge (0:24) you don't need to worry about which side of the road to drive on.

    Hey you and me both - on beach on Westport early morning seen the biggest bird feet tracks in the sand automatically thought Jurassic Park and looked to the skies - still NO idea what that was, but l put my hand beside it took a picture and it was bigger than my hand and lve got big Russian coal miner type hands. Crickey.

      If it four toes (three forward, one back) it may have been a Bittern. They are wetland birds, so have big feet for walking on soft ground. They’re rare in NZ but do live on the West coast. If it was, you were lucky!
