    Nice simple set up man. I have a lot more stuff to deal with on my kayak. Rudder controls, outriggers, and over all weight. So I'm using 1" aluminum tube on top of some wooden blocks to clear things. Still waiting for a couple of items but can't wait to have power. Thanks for sharing.

      Thank you, it’s all just preference 🙂

    I was going to put the trolling motor in the pod position but after seeing your video, I like your setup better. Thanks for posting!

    I just ordered a HooDoo 139s. It should be here in about 4 days. I really like your bracket for the tracks. So excited to mount a Watersnake. Thanks for the video!

    Great idea! How/where did you get the Watersnake nylon transom bracket? It seems as though you have to either purchase the kayak mount model and then upgrade to the transom bracket--or purchase the transom mount model and then upgrade to the steering extension.

      Thank you, I had both models since the original model had broken, I just transferred over the extension handle onto the transom model. I do have a new motor I’m using now that is a bit more durable and faster although it is a bit heavier as well.

    Hoping you still get notifications for this video. Awesome idea with the mount. I curious what seat that is. It looks very comfortable.

    • @StatesideFishing

      Thank you, the seat is the feel free gravity seat, actually it’s not so comfortable as the padding is very thin, I have been meaning to add some padding under the seat cover but the back rest is very comfortable especially when moving from spot to spot or going far distances. It’s also adjustable so you can set the height to your preference but I’ve had the nuts come loose on me and the seat collapse multiple times which was no fun haha. I just tightened the nuts down fully which locks the seat from being adjustable by hand like it is meant to be but that doesn’t bother me, I keep it in the same position.

    I ended up putting my motor in the pod and added support. I stay in deeper water most the time . It worked better for me in the areas I use the kayak . I steer with the rudder now , so get to keep fishing more . I replaced motor mount with another flush mount pole holder for my anchor . I also added a pwm to slow down the trolling motor for trolling .

      That's nice, placing the motor in the pod will significantly slow your speed because you're blocking the hull, my buddy has a pod mount and can only go about 3mph while I go nearly 5, it's all just preference 🙂👍

      @@StatesideFishinges close to 4mph . It is the same speed I was getting when mounted on the side of kayak. But , I use it more for trolling . But with the pwm, the battery last longer . 35 ah lead acid battery keeps me going around 5 - 6 hours so far . I have not had the battery get drained yet .
      I cant wait to see how long I go with the 80 ah lithium battery I ordered . .
      I also added a downrigger since using the motor more .
      It works great .
      I wish I had mounted it in the pod a long time ago . 2:53

    This looks great - better than the other mount I think. I tried to buy - all sold out for a bit......next year! Peace

      rbiel100 thanks Ron, yes it is a lot better then the weak plastic bracket that has broke twice on me, this should be a permanent solution 👍✌️

      Stateside Fishing , I got sent the new improved bracket with my motor.
      Hopefully it lasts .

      Loving Idaho what is the main difference between the old and the new one ? Is it a transom mount ?

  • @ericolsen9799
    @ericolsen9799 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is there a kill switch if you fall while running or is there a diff. technique?

    • @StatesideFishing
      @StatesideFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is not, the motor does shut off on impact.

    What size battery do you use on this setup? What does the battery weigh?

    • @StatesideFishing
      @StatesideFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      9one9er I use a lithium pros tm 2540 50ah, it weighs 19 lbs

    What did you switch from the kayak mount to the transom mount?

    • @StatesideFishing
      @StatesideFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea about 2 years ago, the kayak mount broke twice, cheap plastic design.

    Looks like motor mount is backwards. You can’t tilt motor up.

    • @StatesideFishing
      @StatesideFishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it was but it did not matter with this motor because it locked into place automatically so if I hit something it would not tilt to absorb the impact so I would just pull it straight up to get it out of the water. I have a new bracket I made now with a bigger/faster motor.
