I was over by Khahanie park and was watching for the sirens and light but I don't think they came on until after the dam opened up. I'll have to make it out sometime again this week and probably try spots that are a little safer.

Why is it so dangerous? Does the water level change quickly? Like within seconds type of thing? I'm curious if you don't go in at all or you're only in up to your ankles how that can become dangerous?

you're right, that usually is the best time. Otherwise if your are fishing the lower river fish they come in with the rising tide.

When is the next run? Do spinners and crankbaits (replaced to one inline hook) work for salmon too?
Hi Kavish, they start trickling in again soon. I usually take my first trips in May. Spinners work but not as well as the fly does.

Hi Oliver! Depending on the water height at the time it's usually 31/2 to 4 feet. You want to suspend your weights and bait just off the bottom.
