Burials of Siraj-ud-Daulah and his Relatives!! (Rural Bioscope - Special Episode 8)

  • This special episode of ‘Rural Bioscope’, explores the garden-cemetery of Khushbagh in Murshidabad district of West Bengal, built by Nawab Alivardi Khan. The garden hosts a mosque that looks similar to the Jama Masjid or Mosque of Delhi.
    The garden-cemetery of Khushbagh has the graves of Nawab Siraj-ud-Daulah, his grandfather Nawab Alivardi Khan and that of Mehdi, the adopted brother of Siraj.
    Sharfunnesa, the wife of Nawab Alivardi Khan, Amina Begum, the mother of Nawab Siraj-ud-Daulah and Ghaseti Begum, his aunt, along with Lutfunnisa, wife of Nawab Siraj-ud-Daulah and his other wife Madhavi, later named as Aliya, were buried here in the garden-cemetery of Khushbagh.
    According to historical sources, seventeen close associates and friends of Nawab Siraj-ud-Daulah were murdered and were buried in Khushbagh.
    So, friends next time when you come to Murshidabad, make sure to visit Khushbagh, the garden-cemetery of the Nawabs of Murshidabad.

    Nice videography with the horses at the beginning. Research work is good. Could have been a little more elaborate. Keep it up.
