Gateway Church hopes to help congregation heal with new interim pastors, independent investigation

Gateway Church is taking steps to help its congregation move forward after its founder and senior pastor, Robert Morris, resigned over allegations he sexually assaulted a young girl decades ago.

Of course. Put in a high-profile person in place in order to keep the seats full. I'm sorry, but this has nothing to do with "healing". This is damage control. It's a business. They are worried about the numbers. They have many bills and salaries, and they placed someone with a big reputation to ensure people would come.

Exactly what I was going to say as well it paints a bad picture for Christians and is disgusting! but people will still go because they're not there for the pastors they're there for their Lord & Savior as many of us who don't even go to Church, I've always believed you don't need to go to church to have a Person Relationship With the Lord, and is True it is nice to be with others that believe in him as well but not necessary and or required by the Lord,.

Can you imagine the horror Robert’s children felt when they heard that their Father was a pedophile. And that their Mother, Debbie, was complicit. Debbie has known for 35 years that Cindy was 12 when it all started. I’m sure there won’t be anymore sleepovers at Grandma and Grandpa’s house.

@@Clare-t8r I asked a Pastor and he said they are not receiving any money and no longer have any connection to Gateway. But you know how it is, the Elders are not transparent, so they may be giving money to Robert and calling it a love gift, a commission, interest money, investment money, etc. They like to massage the truth rather than be truthful. How sad is it that the church has reached the point that the Elders are not 100% truthful.

A 12 year old can’t consent to s3x. She was a minor and he r-ped her for 4 years. 100x!
