I have been in a sewing slump for years, after having started sewing at age 8 and am now in my sixties. Your video is the best I have seen on getting your sewing back into your life. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And you now have a new subscriber. Thank you xx
I lost my sew jo last year for about 10 months as I was admitted to hospital with sepsis then 8 weeks later I had a total knee replacement, so wasn't able to use the foot peddle on my machines. Once I was able to lift my leg, my son suggested that I start sewing again as it would be good exercise for my knee. Happy days I have never looked back since then and have definately regained my love of sewing. xxx
I lost my sew jo after making scrubs at the beginning of the pandemic. I felt if I never saw a sewing machine again it would be too soon. But my fingers have started to itch again. So thank you Tilly, I will be starting again!
Thanks for the tips, I find keeping my sewing machine and overlocker out ready to go helps. I don’t have much space so I now sew standing up (make sure the machines are standing height). It has revolutionised my sewing - as has the tips in your Make it Simple book. I used to wait until I had a whole day free to sew then never got anything done. Thanks to your tips, I break down the processes and get far more done. Fantastic!
I make dresses and after completing a large bridesmaid order of 6 dresses in 2 days, I was sick of the sight of my machine! But after 4 days off, a plate of biscuits to my side and a nice candle on, I’m motivated to work again!
Thank you I needed that. 3 months ago downsized from big house where had lot space. Special room to cut out in and sewing room with 3 desks, overlocker, sewing machine and embroidery machine. Now 1 desk for 3 machines and can't decide where to cut out. Guess I will get there.😢
Great advice and all great tips which I am going to put into practice. Literally just tided and de cluttered my sewing space today, and before seeing this, scary 😬😬❤️❤️
I am a new sewer, with no designated space, so have to pull out and put away each time. This was such a helpful video and I loved the comments below. I will be trying the tips of music and candles. Thank you.
When I am in a sewing funk I tend to go to my T&TB books for inspiration as they have lots of great ideas. Lately I have made an indigo dress and a Skye dress and I love them both so much. My only real issue is my back, I am still getting my strength back after cancer treatment (all gone now 😀) and I can only do a couple of hours at a time. I think I would do better if I had a better chair, do you have any recommendations for something comfy? And is it better to have a mobile chair or a static one? All advice welcome 🤗 xx

If I touch and caress my fabric, just a few hand strokes and for sure I will end up sewing something.. 😊
