For the kid that stuttered, isn’t it weird how we can read really good in our minds, but out loud we sound like a dying rat

I still remember that one time in 8th grade ,the teacher made a boy read in front of class and she didn't knew that he has stuttering problem,so when he was reading she encouraged him and clapped for him.

When I was in third grade, we watched a movie called tuck everlasting after reading the book. Everyone was freaking out during the kissing scene, and some kid yelled, "you guys are so dumb, haven't you seen your mom and dad kiss before!" the kid sitting next to me whispers, "I don't have a mommy though" and the room falls quiet. My heart still breaks for this kid everyday and its been years since I last saw him..

A similar thing happened. So, when the bell rang and we had to go to the bathroom first and then eat our lunch. Then a girl walked in the girls bathroom; so because she had short hair, I assumed she was a boy and I told her to go to the boys stall in front of everyone. But she told me she was a girl and her mother died that's why her dad had to send her to school but her dad did not know how to tie braids (most of the girls tie braids in our school) so that's why her father cut her hair short.

I relate to the stuttering stories. The teachers were convinced that I couldn't read at all because I stuttered so much whenever I read to them. They even put me in a reading program for kids who actually didn't know how to read. It was very frustrating because I did know how read the whole time so they were basically adding extra work that wasn't helping at all. Funnily enough, they never thought to put me in speech therapy. I kinda wish they did because it could have saved me a lot of time and I wouldn't be still stuttering, I still have trouble saying 40 sometimes.

I used to have a very high and soft voice (still do but my voice is getting deeper now) and people will always say stuff like "how old are you" "your voice is high" "you sound like a 5 year old". People would sometimes compare my voice to mickey mouse or something. My dad once told me that since I'm getting older I need to start "sounding like my age". Even online when people hear my voice they don't believe it's mine and think I have a voice changer on lol. And my voice gets high when I'm nervous and I get nervous when meeting people so yeah I get lots of comments and remarks on my voice, some like my voice and some think it's weird but I'm glad that my voice is getting deeper cause I'm tired of having to prove that I actually sound like this lol.

Like for example, they get mad at me and my brother for not washing out our dishes when we use it and they say that we are putting more work on their shoulder's when it could easily be avoided by just washing our dishes. So I started washing out my dishes (my brother didn't) and once when I was washing out my bowl my mom came in and put a plate in the sink and I asked if she was gonna wash it. She said no and I asked her why she expected me to wash out my dishes when she doesn't even do it. She said "I put a roof over your head and give you food, why should I wash my dishes, can't you do it?". I was mad because this happens so much, my parents are never a role model to their own word. They expect me to do so many things but when it comes to them they don't need to do nothing just because they are giving me a house to live in and making sure I don't starve smh.

I ha- mm.. really dislike parents like that. Like you told THEM to wash their own dishes, and they are.
You can do your part as well. Please don't tell your kid to wash your dish when you can easily do it as well. Smh
Oh and don't get mad when they don't do something for you that isn't necessary. Like c'mon now. 😑
I also dislike parents who hit/whip/abuse their children because of something so simple or something that is out of their control and the parents expect them to fix it. The kid explains that they have no control over this thing. The parent gets mad, and hits them. Like, sure some parents will use this for like a punishment (which I also disagree with but that's a different story/rant 😅) but if it's out of their control, don't punish them for it. Smh
I'm sorry for ranting but I as a kid/teen, I personally hate parents like this.

She looked at me and laughed like it was the most hilarious thing. It made me really mad as a kid, Cause it was the only mentos I had left. Fast forward to Grade 5, the start of the new school year, we obviously had new classmates. And when i was outside our school buying A mango drink, a girl came up to me and handed me mentos. I asked her what she was doing and why. She said that she remembers taking my mentos as a kid and wanted to repay me back. It was really sweet of her and i still talk to her to this day

The teacher who was watching our class that day took my drawing ripped it and called me retarted. I wanted to cry but sucked it up the worse part about it was the fact that while I was drawing the picture she was talking to her helper in earshot about how dumb I was. when I got home I cried and told my mom what happened. she threatened the teacher and school and forced the teacher to apologize the next day in front of other teachers so they knew what kind of person she was. never found out why she didn't like me but that was my last interaction with her.

Time passes by, and I was dealing with depression, then my so called friend hung out with the other 2 and I didnt know why she would always choose them over me and I was devastated, after I would cry every night for my life to be over. Then I kind of overcame my depression by leaving the place after 3 years of suffering.
Then I anonymously texted her on IG and she said that, She did not like to hang out with me cuz I was not myself anymore and didnt understand why I would cut myself and that she texted "So I'm not gonna cry or fight for someone who doesnt want to talk about their problems" I'm so glad I got over it and I'm more self confident over a fake friend like her :)

Then i continued to hear my only friend group ( had almost 5-7 members) dissing me behind my back. I was like a fool to still be connected to them after all these for like 5 more months , but i did it cuz i never wanted to be a kid being left out. But i was so done with this behaviour so like i just got up one day, i straightaway went to them who were busy badmouthing me, just slammed the table and yelled " I am so done with u guys " And left for the washroom. I cried my heart out and then i came back to my class after washing my face as if nothing happened.

I muttered, "Oh the paper *flied* " (It's flew and I know I made a mistake).. the teacher heard me, and went FURIOUS. She corrected me, yes.. but she did not stop there
She went with the "Do you not know how to speak English properly?", "I should speak with your English Teacher", "What are your parents teaching you?".. over a mistake I made in FIFTH GRADE.
Then proceeded to make me a ridicule in the classroom, for everyone to laugh upon.
It really left a mark on me. I know it's not that deep and all but ????

I had a friend who was 7 years younger than me. I was visiting her in hospital a nurse asked me if she was my mother. My friend was very indignant.
The teacher mocking the child who stuttered shouldn't be a teacher. Teachers are supposed to encourage students not crush them. Queen Elizabeth's father, who became King of England after his brother abdicated, had a stutter and had to have speech therapy to help him overcome it before he could give speeches.

I was painfully shy for the first 25 years of my life and never wanted to go anywhere without Mum and when I started kindergarten long flowing skirts were the trend for female adults and I hid behind her and wrapped the skirt around me. I was diagnosed as an adult with aspergers which was actually the best thing I could of heard because it explained to me who I am and why I feel certain ways. My experience of school is one of the biggest reasons why I retrained at 24 to become a year one teacher. I wanted to not only teach but to give everyone of my kids (I refer to my students as my kiss) an environment that was positive, safe so they knew I cared about them. You often say that some teachers just shouldn't to it and I agree with you 100%. I saw laziness, inaccurate teaching but the hardest thing was going into the staffroom and the way grown adults judged and criticised some students over cruel things like whether a child is pretty, has dumb parents, has no hope of succeeding and other things that had nothing to do with the child academically. It was so bad I wouldn't go to the staffroom on breaks. The worst was the first school I taught at as the principal continuously told us that the kids were never going to succeed so just change the results to make her look good with the school board. Please everyone make sure your kids are being treated respectfully and that they feel safe at the school.

My friend moved schools, I was heartbroken. My classmates told the teacher cuz they were concerned for me. The teacher basically just told me that I was overdramatic N to get over it. I was 8, my best friend was moving. N I confided in that teacher. Just realised how messed up it was cuz I didn't even dk anything to that teacher- she just began being mean to me sometimes. Still messes me up if I think abt it too much yknow

In kindergarten I had to move to a different classroom and they never told me why, I was moved into a classroom with a teacher who would constantly yell at us so most of the time I didn't talk- in fear of getting in trouble. It's wasn't until I think the 4th grade (still at the same elementary school) that my classmates told me that the teacher I had before made me change classrooms because she "couldn't deal with me" or something. That shocked me because I wasn't that bad of a kid and barely talked. Looking back now I realized how much my teacher didn't like me but never mentioned it. My theory is that she was racist cause I was the only black kid in her classroom and she didn't like me and when I moved classrooms my neighbors who had just moved to my neighborhood and the girl for their family that I was friends with started going to my school and she would always talk about how the teacher was mean to her and nobody else.

My story : My dad says, "I doubt that you'll ever be successful/shine in life" whenever he gets mad at me. He probably doesn't mean it seriously, but everytime he says such things, it hits me right into the heart. I'm pretty insecure, and his words add to it

When Kyutie was talking about how the kids in preschool usually has a meltdown because there parents weren’t there, but when I was in preschool I was wondering why everyone was sad, because in my eyes I was like “I get to see my parents after school and we have to go here to learn”. I was wondering what was the big deal, but now that I’m older, I realized why people cry when they start there first day of school.

I used to suffer from stuttering as a kid, like maybe 2-6? I never remembers struggling when reading, but when ever I tried to talk fast, I stuttered. I just take it slow, even if it takes a while to convey info, pronounce it slowly! Do not rush

Stutters… honestly, it’s amazing how people who make fun of them are able to make such a fool of themselves without even knowing they are. They shouldn’t be worried about what *they* think about those with a stutter, they should worry about what *society* thinks about *them.*

I remember I was in grade school with this one girl who was always really mature about everything.and kind to everyone and barely ever got upset. Once our teacher asked what everyone wanted to do when they grow up and she said she wanted to be a tharipist and our teacher asked why and she said "well bc I don't want anyone to kill themselves" This was 3rd grade... I later found out that her parents got divorced when she was 3 and probably that worst experience I saw was at resses she was sobbing in the washroom and kept saying "WHY DID DAD LEAVE ME I'VE BEEN NICE"
Fun fact that little girl was me

i have severe adhd and when me and my bestfriend had a conversation i sometimes (not purposely) cut him off to add something to what he said because it reminded me of something else. one time he got mad at me for it and i cried and felt really bad; now my friends are always upset with me for not including myself into conversations and always being very awkward. it's not really something i can control, but every time i try to say something it just doesn't come out.

My friend came to school crying and we were all wondering why cause we’ve never seen her cry before. Turns out she got yelled by her mom cause of her stuttering problem. I’m not sure exactly what she said but I think it was “why can’t you just speak normally? It’s not that hard!” I felt so bad, but her speech is getting better.

The girl that commented to her boy friend that he hadn't beat her may have been commenting on relationships she had observed and thought that was normal. Like, maybe her father beats and berates her mother and she thought all relationships were like that. I hope she never has to live like that, herself.

One thing that breaks my heart to think about is how my friends/family joked and acted around me. I've always been overweight for my age (only by like 10-30 pounds or so) and I've made it clear that I'm insecure about it. Both my friends and family joke about my weight and that I'm fat, which is bothers me so much because they know I'm self conscious about my weight. Like when my own brother called me a fatty in 4th/5th grade and only apologized once I ran off crying to my room. That's not the worst thing though. Throughout my whole life, my mom has always compared me to my aunt (she's at least 300 pounds), said that I'll look like her if I keep eating so much (even though I weigh less than half her size), and tells me to stop eating something after I've only had a few bites or pieces. Still working through those problems and more with my therapist, but anyway, I loved this video!😊

I said, "yeah of course!" and she said, "I have something to tell you..I am muslim" and I'm like "Ok cool" and she's like, "that doesn't change anything?" and I said "no of course not!" I wondered what got her to think that as we were only 9.

    I got 2 of them,
    One
I finally realized that the only reason that i was never that close to my parents is because they left me when i was 3 for my baby sister thinking a 3 year old girl is old enough to care for herself. And everytime i did something bad, they'd put me in this "time out room". Its just a storage room with no lights on. And the worst thing is, my mom was a hair stylist and a dressmaker, so she have those beheaded or just the head manequins stored in there, looking at me, probably why i hated being watched.
    Two
When i was fixing a water pump (keep in mind that im a girl, a 13 yo girl) my dad was in a call to know if im doing it right, instead of calling a professional instead. "Cant you just pull the f-cking lever you idiot?!" That stuck with me till this day.

I actually remember when I was in 6th class i had a really bad sore throat my favourite teacher told me to read in front of the class (p.s I was a good reader in my class but she didn't know about that) so I stood up and started to read
so when I started reading 2 to 3 lines my throat started to hurt really badly because our teacher told me to read loudly.
and after reading, my teacher yelled at me and said DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW TO READ (because i was stuttering)
I told her that my throat hurted while reading and she said that i was making excuses and after that she didn't even gave me a chance to read😦😦
so days passed and after that when she said that anyone wants to read so I raised my hand and then she said
no not you because you read really badly
I was at the urge of crying because she was my favourite 😢😢

Most kids are filled with happiness but it really does depend on how they're raised because I've seen many instances where if the parent is a jerk then the kid imitates that behavior thinking it's normal and is a jerk as well or if the kid has a troubled home they may take their frustrations out on their classmates and be a bully. That goes for the "awkward" kids as well..they are most likely dealing with a lot at home and don't have people in their life uplifting them. It is really sad and what is even worse is that most people especially when kids are growing up don't care what their peers are going through so the kids then really don't have anyone to talk to except maybe a therapist and that's if the child's parents can afford it.

I kinda relate to the "stranger thinking that my friend/family member is my child" story. When I was 12, I went to the store with my little cousin (he is 6 years younger than me so he was 6) this worker thought he was my son for some reason. She said to me "Oh my gosh, your son is so cute!" And I was like "LOL he's my little cousin. We're only 6 years apart and I'm 12." She got embarrassed and apologized. But both my cousin and I were confused. Our other cousin didn't think it was that weird because even though I was 12, I was already developed in a lot of ways, but my face was still very young. Even to this day my cousin still teases me by calling me mom. He's 15 now.

My son was 6, and I had gotten him a mini TV and DVD-player for his b-day, and he was overjoyed, but after a short while he became wary and asked me:
-“Mom, this must have cost U A LOT OF MONEY, do U even have enough left to pay the bills??!!”
I was gobsmacked!!! I wondered to myself how that thought even pop up in his head, and the only conclusion I came to, was that I must have explained at times at toy stores etc. that I(as a single mom) didn’t have money to buy something every time we went...
It broke my heart honestly, 💔
I hugged him and told him that he should just enjoy his presents and not worry cuz I had plenty left for bills, 😢💔
I excused myself from the room, leaving the kids with my mom and her hubby, while I went to the bathroom to cry before I composed myself, washed up and went back to celebrate.
However, after that I minded my tongue more when it came to my finances around my kids...
Both my older kids, daughter 26 and son 23, learned the value of money and have worked hard for everything they wanted.

Ok so when my teacher is giving a big speech, I like to doodle. It helps me focus easier without getting distracted because I’m focused on something and able to listen and sit still better. So a lot of the time it looks like I’m not paying attention. The best feeling is having the teacher ask me a question and me knowing the answer, then seeing the teachers face when I answer with something smart.
