  • In this video I talk about the ongoing nightmare that is PGMOL's "refereeing" of the Premier League, and whether or not it's possible for this situation to change.

Would definitely watch more of your football commentary/thoughts. It's funny how this year is gearing up to be one of the best seasons in recent memory but at the same time you have PGMOL behind the scenes doing their best to ruin it as well as the Man City charges/corruption looming in the background. I think football inherently is a dirty sport full of doping in every sense, money doping and drug doping. I'm not a giant conspiracy nut but there's so much money at risk at the top .

I totally agree. It's sad how dirty the sport is and how little seems to be done.
That said, I do think that the Everton punishment was a deliberate way of setting a precedent for City and perhaps Chelsea. I think the league might genuinely begin enforcing FFP to a reasonable degree at some point. Although even then I feel it's just to protect the hegemony of the traditional big clubs. A case of doing the right thing for the wrong reasons, maybe.
As for drug doping, I'm in two minds about it. It's hard to assess, because there are so many players on every team, it seems like it would be so hard to keep it quiet if literally 600+ players were doing it in the PL at one time. But then there have been massive doping coverups in sport, and of course the FA wouldn't want it getting out. In Spain there was a court ordered destruction of a huge number of blood samples from various athletes across tennis, cycling and football. That was dodgy as hell.
Pep also seems to have some association with it. And I think it's well known that a lot of the Italian greats of the 90s and 00s were doing it.

@@BigDome1 i find it slightly funny that the day you posted this a referee got punched up the day after, maybe I am going to hell

@@Oumajiii I know! I saw that today and was like "damn, that kind of undermines my argument". Still, it wasn't in the PL so until that happens I'm digging my heels in 😤

Everton gets a 10 point penalty? What about Chelsea and Man City?

I think the 10-point penalty for Everton was a way of setting a precedent to give City an otherwise unprecedented punishment. I honestly don't think relegation is off the cards, although I don't think it's likely it will go that far. Either way we're probably looking at a huge points deduction, financial sanctions and a transfer ban. City will appeal it and it'll take years though, and by then they'll probably have done even more damage to the league.
