I know its is their opinion but the more reviewers say they don't care about the crease the more time it will take for manufacturers to fix it . I cant justify spending so much on a phone with a "imperfection" in my own opinion.
In the UK, some networks allow you to change your phone every 90 days (On contract/pay monthly) I've just switched from the S24 Ultra to the Fold 6 and it's a mixed bag. The screen is pretty cool, the crease isn't a issuie (but much more visable in bright light environments) but the cameras are pretty pants. I'll switch back to a standard mobile phone after 3 months (and I'll probably miss the huge screen) There's noway I'd buy one or have it on a 24/36 contract though (I'd worry about the screen)
@@tech_edit I had the 8 Pro before and I didn't really like it! I couldn't believe a Samsung has more customisation than Google's own operating system!! I also wasn't impressed with the processor speed. My wife has the S24 Plus and I honestly think it's one of the all round phones! (Big screen, comfortable to hold and not to expensive on contract) I may get the S24+ until the S25's arrive!
Thank you for the video! Yes, I hoped to see more of Honor Magic V3 in the comparaison as it is the one I am leaning more too! The global version version with pen support should be great! Hope the launch offer pack would be correct! I am using a Xiaomi Mi Max 3 for several years now and knows how it is sturdy! Sorry to see Xiaomi not launching the Mi Mix Fold phones on the global market! It makes it more easy for me to choose! 😅
Thanks for the feedback! I would have featured the Magic V3 more if I had used it more, but I wanted to be transparent that the main devices I tested the Mix Fold 4 against in the real world were the OnePlus Open, Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and Z Fold 6. As soon as I get the Magic V3, though, I'll do my best to share comprehensive insights. Have a great day - Basil
Thanks for the comment. I hope to make move videos on it as soon as possible, though I will likely wait for the global version before going into this much detail so my review can represent the true experience of an optimized Western device. Basil
When stating that the V3 is the "smarter" option due to its availability in the West, it's important to acknowledge that this also introduces a price factor. The V3 comes at a significantly higher cost- hundreds of pounds more - compared to the Mix 4, which remains more affordable as an imported device. This price disparity should be considered when making comparisons, as the Mix 4 will by definition be a cheaper alternative, being an import. I'm simply saying that a device available in the West, will, by definition always be the best option for various reasons, this goes without saying - but a big factor to Chinese imports are the price.
Great point, thanks for highlighting. The Western price wasn't available when I made this video, but will factor that in as a consideration for my V3 review. Have a great day! Basil
I want to order either the vivo x fold 3 pro, the honor V3 or the mix fold 4. My main focus is having the widest outer screen possible and the best zoom capacity at higher zoom level (20x and up). I think the vivo wins the zoom and the honors screen is widest by a bit so really on the fence lol. I thougnt the mix fold 4 would be a strong contender but they kind of settled in the camera dept and the crease is worse then the mix fold 3. Since you have them all which would you recommend for me? Thanks!
It depends on where you live. If you are in the West and need features like Android Wear and Android Auto, I think you should wait until the Magic V3 launches for global markets in September to be honest. The X Fold 3 Pro is awesome, has the biggest battery, in-display fingerprint scanners and is better for gaming than thinner phones. But the Magic V3 is much slimmer and lighter, it really is noticeable.
@@tech_edit im in canada, im okay without android auto etc luckily. I just want a wide outer display and strong zoom capabilities . I appreciate the reply thank you!
I haven't pushed the Magic V3 zoom too hard and only had a bit of time with it, so am not in a position to comment on that. Hopefully the context I gave helped though! Have a great day. Basil
I didn't experience that in my review period with the phone. It gets warm when tethering and gaming, but never uncomfortably so in my experience. Basil
For lowlight photography, especially considering the zoom lenses, you can switch off the auto lens switching in the camera's settings menu, doing so, then you can use the actual zoom lenses in low light conditions.
Thanks for your review, BTW How I can install play store, I remeber it must be rooting(I'm not sure) before.if I use phone from china mainland...stilll like this?
This is hands down the best looking Foldable, however the software is really really poor in comparison to everyone else. The Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is still the one to beat.
Thanks for the comment. It's a bit more complicated than that. You need a 12MP sensor with a 4:3 aspect ratio to shoot 16:9 4K video (11.1MP actually, but you don't see many of them, plus the extra pixels are used for EIS) . So even though you're right, I am referring to a 4:3 sensor. Apologies for not being clearer and thanks for highlighting. Basil
I went from the Fold 4 to the Fold 6 and I expected just a little bit more... but I didn't get it. The Fold 4 and 6 are virtually the same but the Fold 6 looks more modern. That being said I'm very happy with my Fold 6. It's a real eyecatcher and it's fun to work with. Shallow as I am I don't like the design of the other foldables but that's a personal preference. Will my next phone will be another Samsung Fold? Yes baby it will! 😅
Haha. I’m reviewing the Fold 6 right now, writing the review for a magazine in the UK then moving onto my video review for TechEdit after, and honestly love it. You have to get past the so so camera, but its software is so well optimised. Being able to customize your cover screen and inner screens with different apps and wallpapers seems so basic, can’t believe no one else is doing stuff like that. Hope you enjoy yours buddy, thanks for the comment. Basil
The best video details I have seen. Amazing thanks.
Maybe one going deeper into software would be nice too 😊
Great suggestion - thank you for the kind words. Have a great day! Basil
Thanks for making the review, not many in english out there
I know its is their opinion but the more reviewers say they don't care about the crease the more time it will take for manufacturers to fix it . I cant justify spending so much on a phone with a "imperfection" in my own opinion.

Is it really an imperfection tho it's really not bad I really like how it feels in the hand

Can you tell me how I can buy it please?
Mix fold 4 still have problem getting 5g signal with certain carrier like fold 3?
quick question, what is the brightness of the lens you used to shoot the video?
Variable, mostly f/2.8. Is the depth of field too shallow in your opinion?
Is the screen durable? My biggest concern. The design is sleek, the spec is powerful as well.
Thanks for the review, are you planning on reviewing the Honor Magic V3 any time soon?

@@tech_edit sounds great, thank you very much.
Wonderful review. Thank you!!!
Does it have the same external mic bug as the 14, 14 Pro and Mix Flip? Like highly processed and compressed sounding recording?
13:35 - it would appear so 🫠
@@tech_edit So you used an external mic there. Ok I see.
Ah - sorry! I missed the 'external', no, that's on-device. I haven't tried it with an external mic. I'll have a go a bit later. Cheers for flagging!

Fantastic Tech Edit 10 out of 10 The best Xiaomi mix fold 4 review online. Xiaomi doing a great job pushing the bar on foldable hardware innovation.
@@tariqdad5141 haha, I think that’s the first time I’ve ever been reviewed. Thanks for the kind words and glad you enjoyed the video. Basil
Is True that in this phone you get warnings about overheating? That it gets to hot?
I didn't get any and gamed for hours in it. I had to lower the graphics because frame rates dropped, but didn't get overheating warnings. Basil

Is there anything like Samsung DeX ?
No, Xiaomi doesn’t have a desktop mode

Get a Vivo x Fold 3/3 Pro
It wasn't so bad with ambient sound, but yes, voice pickup is really disappointing.
