I got a Fold 5 about 4 months ago. At that time, and even now, I was looking at other options. Oh boy, those Chinese foldables are amazing, but they all have a camera bump that's like a mountain. I'd prefer not to have any camera at all rather than having such a big camera bump.

When im in clinic and just need a quick glance i find myself using the front screen no problem most of the time. When im on break i can bust it open for videos. I really hope they dont get bigger.
Ikr. This is the reason why I traded in S23U and go for ZF6 (which is my first foldable). I love the smaller cover screen, and a little less taller than S23U make it much easier to hold and keep inside the pocket.
This is what I keep telling people. These tech tubers keep pushing to have a normal size screen up front when the purpose of having a foldable is to have a smaller form factor when closed and then get the bigger screen when open. The outside screen is great for checking all my messages, answering phone calls, checking your notifications, etc. People who complain they can't text with the front screen just don't know how to spell and don't use swipe to text. Lol! I've had my Fold 5 for almost a year now now (Sept 2023) and it's been running great and I use it for business everyday (it replaced my laptop).
@pkpnyt4711 its still thick brick in the hand. No point of a narrow screen if the phone is still thick. That means it uses more hand surface area to hold. U may as well have the bigger screen on a thinner width phone
@@kunalamratlal4566 If you have super small hands, it's thick. It's fine with one handed use for me (most reviewers I've seen said the same thing, they could reach where you needed to reach with the width of the phone). I can reach all the corners of the screen. Your logic is flawed, having a wider front screen means it will be wider, thicker and harder to handle.
@@pkpnyt4711 I mean, having a regular sized outer screen still serves the purpose of having a smaller screen than unfolds into a bigger tablet inner screen. It's only Samsung that continues to adopt a more compact form factor compared to the rest. I don't think Samsung's approach is wrong, as it's mostly a personal preference whether you'd like a smaller or regular sized outer screen. From the ZF1, they've continued to approach their Z Fold from the perspective of the inner screen being the main screen, and the outer screen as a subsidiary screen. But from the perspective of a 2-in-1 phone that unfolds into a bigger tablet, the Z Fold's outer screen size is irregular compared to today's phones, which most people are not used to, and I guess why a lot of tech tubers are against.
The Mi Fold isn't doing it for me. That back camera layout is so obnoxious and not very appealing at all. Props on the "regular" shape of the front screen, but the Z Fold's tall and thin dimension is perfect for scrolling, which is what people will do with it.
DJI ignore me, I asked about the ebike and I've been reviewing them for years but they prefer to send the bikes to channels that have never owned or reviewed an ebike before. Makes sense! 😅😅
I'd probably say their International software version is lagging behind, their Chinese software tends to be generations ahead of the international versions (and is also integrated into the Chinese software infrastructure) but that doesn't help much if you don't live in China.
I have an X fold 2, its snappy and practical. the UI is not good, but its really fast and the battery life is super awesome. the battery life is better than my old S22 ultra and the current Xiaomi 14U. I guess its better than the S24U as well. All of that and i still get notifications fine! i do not know what are they doing exactly beating everybody else.
Yes this makes absolute sense. Samsung have never ever done market research right? They don't even know Xiaomi, one of the biggest companies in China exists....
@@Techtablets Samsung basically withdrew from the Chinese phone market (the world's largest) around the time of the anti-Korean protests in 2019ish. But they were already bleeding market share as their phones were behind and more expensive than XM, Oppo, Huawei, etc. and also not specialized enough for the Chinese market. Ironically as a foreign company they had to lock down the phones completetly so was basically impossible to get google to work on them, while quite easy on XM. Seeing a Samsung in the mainland now is like seeing a Nokia in Europe (i.e., very unusual). Of course Samsung's aware of what the CN manufacturers are doing but I think they focus on the US where they have most of the non-iphone market and then battle it out against CN manufacturers in the rest of the world. I expect them to steadily lose market share around the world (outside US) to XM, Oppo, VIvo, etc. They're still the world's largest mobile phone manufacturer but are losing market share and at least some % of what they sell are "dumbphones" to poorer countries so not sure if they're the world's largest Smartphone manufacturer.
I’m using the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and I had previously the Samsung Z Fold 3 and Fold 4 for a year and no issues I think as long as you look after them they will be fine.
I own a Fold 5 but it never sat well with me how slow the charging speed is, that it doesnt come with a charger, screen protector or case included. The thing is like 1.3 times more expensive and it doesnt even have an on screen fingerprint reader, worse design and no accessories. I am buying a chinese phone next. Hell, Oneplus has a great track record with me. I would have bought a Oneplus Open instead if only they sold it here. I simply cannot fathom how they can sell you a 2k phone with nothing included. While you see every lower line cheaper phone they have is a somplete set. its all Apples fault and the effing american\korean brand riding on the bandwagon.
Thank you for your hard work! Unfortunately the phone is not just a hardware. The software is equally important and so far, looking at the foldables, no one can beat up Samsung, especially now when they offer 7 years of Android and security updates. And i used to have a Chinese phone. It was great, great hardware, great camera on fantastic price... and limited version of Android and no Play Store. No, thanks! I will never be back to Chinese phones and every time when I look at a phone, I look also at the software.
In what ways is funtouch / origin OS slower than OneUI? You mention that it's a lot less smooth, but unfortunately it can't be captured through the video.
Benchmark tests don't mean nowt .. Xiaomi phones always crash when testing them ..even the new Xiaomi flip can't finish some tests through overheating.. Samsung may not be the best score but with the better optimization and UI works way better
@@Techtablets It's always been a problem with Chinese roms mate ..I used to always buy imported Chinese phones I got sick of them overheating and so many bugs ..Yeah Samsung are proper boring like Apple but their phones work ..My S24 ultra is a brilliant all rounder but a tad safe and boring
Yes and it's why I'm getting tired of Xiaomi always the same issues the Mix Fold 2/3 exactly the same issues. They jsut pump out phones and forget about the software. I agree the S24 Ultra is a great phone but a little boring yes but works so well. Amazingly clear screen.
Vivo X Fold 3 Pro are the clear winner. Samsung only wins because of the OS. 6 to 7 years of update support are just marketing technique which are basically useless. You're not gonna be using the Fold 6 for more than 4 years lets be real here. Also even if there no more updates, you can still use your phone perfectly fine. So 7-15 years of support are just rubbish and just a marketing strategy making you think buying the phone are worth it. Also the crease are disgusting on the Fold 6, like Bruh Samsung, you're on the 6th generation of the Fold and it still felt like they still stuck in the year 2015 with that hardware design. Chinese foldables are way ahead than Samsung.
11:34 I understand Samsung's better at some niche features and only Oppo/Oneplus seem to be close but still man, i don't think it's that much of a pull for Samsung. Apart from the S pen there's nothing great about the Fold6. The software features are cool in theory but on that tiny 7.6" screen what's the point? Until we get 10 inches or larger, these multitasking features are just gimmicks. Only Oppo's triple app thing seems useful to me where you run two apps at the same time along with a third one you can switch to at any time. That's intuitive and useful. Samsung's just eh in software now as well. Other manufacturers need to double down on a stylus now. We NEED styluses now to further justify the price otherwise even the base X Fold3 is great now. Styluses need to get to the level of at least the Note10 and better yet the Note20 Ultra on these foldables and hopefully we get them inside the phones. That way we get endgame phones for the most part.
The Oppo has the best software after Samsung. Yes agreed on the stylus the lack of Stylus for the X Fold 3 Pro and Mix Fold 4 is unacceptable. At least the Open has it and Magic V2/V3.
I think Xiaomi tries to after what others don't, but is not the right one. That slimness is too much, but the drawbacks that little thing present are overlooked. I would stay with Xiaomi candybars.
The outer screen size is subjective. When you state both foldables are better, because the display is bigger than the zfold, well that's your opinion. It's really irritating when every single reviewer says that. There is still alot of folks that prefer a slimmer, easier to hold phone.
Note: Fold 4 not being able to use Google messaging is a huge pain. No group messaging... can't schedule future messages... can't attach more than one image into a message... are just a few things that are making me switch away from the 4... Maybe back to the 3Global... Or the GoogleFold2(or whatever they want to call it)....
I will be switching to android from apple and honestly picking the right foldable seems really hard as there are significant compromises to be made with any of the phones chosen due to processor speed, water resistance, cellular bands, etc. ugh, what to do?
If you're in America, don't get a Chinese foldable phone. Either Samsung or Google is your best option. Chinese foldable phones have zero warranty support, zero repair support, and zero resell/trade-in value.

Nice video. I would say do a comparison again in 3 months of time as this really looks bad for Xiaomi after 4 iteration of Foldable. Software is mediocre but I never expected Xiaomi to have the worst camera out of the bunch. I was expecting to upgrade my Find N3 but I guess, I'll wait for 2025. Thanks for the fast and very in depth video. Kudos!
I really expected better, in Xiaomi's defense it is the second firmware so work is needed to improve those cameras. But I still don't think it will better the XFold 3 Pro stills or Z Fold 6 stills and video.
The Chinese phones may be better. However, the problem for us in the US is what if you crack the screen on the Chinese folds or break it, what then? There is no sales or tade in with Vivo, Xiaomi, Honor with exception of OP. Plus you have to buy those folds from a third party vendor and pay the full price +. At least I got wonderful deal with Samsung Z Fold 6 and paid a little over 500 for 512 gb with the trade in and have insurance. I have the One Plus Open too and cracked the screen. OP didn't offer insurance but warranty when I purchased the phone. However, the cracked screen was not covered under the warranty. So, it will cost over 500.00 plus to fix the screen and they want me to ship the phone, clear the data, plus keep it for 9 days or so. Samsung may not be the best in the pack. However, when it comes down to customer service and offering insurance when you the buy the phone allowed me to get a replacement, and they sent the replacement phone to me first so I could transfer everything over prior to sending the broken one back. With the one plus open, i will have to back up my apps and data. People need to consider this when buying folds outside of Samsung and Google. Samsung needs to step there game up because the Chinese folds are looking good plus my OP Open is a good phone. Thanks for your videos.

But from the perspective of a 2-in-1 phone that unfolds into a bigger tablet, the Z Fold's outer screen size is irregular compared to today's phones, which most people are not used to, and I guess why a lot of tech tubers are against.
does it support esim?
Hi Chris, can you compare camera and battery between Fold 6 vs Oppo Find N3/Oneplus Open
I don't have my N3 Fold anymore sorry otherwise it would be in this video.
how would you say the best foldable cameras compare to older flagships? Is vivo on par with say galaxy s22 cameras or better?
Photos yes but definitely not video quality.
The Mi Fold isn't doing it for me. That back camera layout is so obnoxious and not very appealing at all. Props on the "regular" shape of the front screen, but the Z Fold's tall and thin dimension is perfect for scrolling, which is what people will do with it.
Yes the camera module looks is very meh.
if i buy china Vivo X Fold 3 Pro now and when the global version releases next year will I be able to update the firmware to the global?
no
Are you testing the new xiaomi ebike?. Its coming to europe right?
Hi, which one is that? Not sure I'll buy it.
@@Techtablets sorry... I meant dji, 😅
DJI ignore me, I asked about the ebike and I've been reviewing them for years but they prefer to send the bikes to channels that have never owned or reviewed an ebike before. Makes sense! 😅😅
Please make a clear comparison of each camera
Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 Vs Z Fold 6 & Vivo X Fold 3 Pro CAMERA Comparison
I'd probably say their International software version is lagging behind, their Chinese software tends to be generations ahead of the international versions (and is also integrated into the Chinese software infrastructure) but that doesn't help much if you don't live in China.
I have an X fold 2, its snappy and practical. the UI is not good, but its really fast and the battery life is super awesome. the battery life is better than my old S22 ultra and the current Xiaomi 14U. I guess its better than the S24U as well. All of that and i still get notifications fine! i do not know what are they doing exactly beating everybody else.
Saem wit hthe X Fold 3, awesome battery the UI is very meh not amazing.
Thank you for the video. Besides the actual content I also learnt that the Xativa Castle exists👍💙. I will visit it soon.
You're welcome 😊
I don't think samsung even have an idea these Chinese foldable exist
Seems not! 😂
Do you use any foldable as primary phone long term for personal life? Do you think these phones can last multiple years of daily use?
I’m using the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and I had previously the Samsung Z Fold 3 and Fold 4 for a year and no issues I think as long as you look after them they will be fine.
How do you think think the new Honor magic v3 compares to these ?
Good review and the wind noise on the Xiaomi was very poor. Sound test was won by the Z fold 6 as Xiaomi sounded like an empty pepsi cola tin 😮
What are your thoughts on MagicOS?
Not amazing it's okay you get use to it but I find OneUI and OxygenOS/ColorOS much better.
The Z Fold 6 should have been on "performance mode" for the benchmarking.
While you see every lower line cheaper phone they have is a somplete set. its all Apples fault and the effing american\korean brand riding on the bandwagon.
can you do this again but include the honor magic v3 please
Thank you for your hard work!
Unfortunately the phone is not just a hardware. The software is equally important and so far, looking at the foldables, no one can beat up Samsung, especially now when they offer 7 years of Android and security updates. And i used to have a Chinese phone. It was great, great hardware, great camera on fantastic price... and limited version of Android and no Play Store. No, thanks! I will never be back to Chinese phones and every time when I look at a phone, I look also at the software.
I agreed 100%
Unfortunately I have same experiences with chinese brands. After that I ended up with Samsung and definitely will not go back to chinese.
I love my Vivo X Fold gen1 Origin Os, never hold any smartphone that have stable os and convenient, btw i am ex samsung user
But you wait soon a firmware from Xiaomi will throttle them to below SD8Gen2 performance and it will work. Poor thermals and poor cooling.
@@Techtablets True story mate ..Updates ain't reliable either ..The last Xiaomi I had the updates actually made the phone worse
Hi Chris, does netflix stream on Dolby vision with the Chinese version of Xfold 3 pro.? Thanks

I understand Samsung's better at some niche features and only Oppo/Oneplus seem to be close but still man, i don't think it's that much of a pull for Samsung.
Eh why isn't the Honor Magic v3 here it smashes the Xaomi and Samsung. Would like to see it go up again the Vivo 👍
Don’t have one but soon
Great video, I purchased the mix fold 4 but I'm finding it difficult to install Google chrome. It's just does install for some reason. Please help
Where is honor magic v3?
I’ll have the global one next month
What is the location during the camera test?
Circle to search on my Z Fold says "Xativa Castle" near Valencia.
Las Rotas, Denia. Coasta Blanca Spain
Can you please do night photography comparison between the 3?thanks
If there is enough interest yes.
Great comparison. It's either z fold 6 or vivo pro 3 for me. Z fold software is the best
Yes I agree
Always here for foldables!
The outer screen size is subjective. When you state both foldables are better, because the display is bigger than the zfold, well that's your opinion. It's really irritating when every single reviewer says that. There is still alot of folks that prefer a slimmer, easier to hold phone.
Of course it's all my opinion this type of video.
Exactly this, if smaller body and hands (eg woman), prefer smaller phones
Thicker with sharp corners and heavy= easier to hold ??
I didn't know which foldable is better
How’s Vivo’s crease compared to Oneplus open?
Slightly worse the Open has maybe the best crease there is for now. Maybe the Magic V3 is better
27:50 yes camerpa comparison between these 3
Make a battery life comparison between those 3 phones
They're going to have to push the camera bump to the edge and move the charging port to make them thinner.
@@King_504 right now oneplus open is my top choice but I’m a bit worried about the lack of ipx resistance.
What about the battery
Would you guys prefer xiaomi mix fold 4 or the vivo x fold 3 non pro version?
Warranty is the number 1 thing when it comes to owning a folding phone. This makes z fold 6 unquestionably the winner.
Very true
I would instead 😂😂 go for s23
Brand new now at 500$
For me all 3 fold are good. Cant go wrong going with anyone. But extreme expensive
That’s a good deal.
Pls do some online collab videos with indian tech youtuber techno ruhez...it will be good for both of you and your channel growth...indian people go crazy when some foreign tech guy collaborate with indian yotuber trust me....
I think both of you should do a video or podcast on increasing prices of the smartphones or fasle marketing by tech companies in different part of the world...love from india❤ ..i hope you read my comment🤕 😢
Thanks for the idea!
Lol, people thinking they can use their samsung for 7 years, my note 4 was unusable after around 3-4 years
This is true my Fold 2 also got the white line of death in the crease.
ikr, they keep talking about 7 years of updates while their phones probably can live up to 2 years 😂
Just imagine saying your note 4 as if that wasn’t 6 to 7 years ago when they finally implemented 7 years is updates with the s24 ultra lol. Try again dude
@@DeckoBoy993-4 years is already good enough, if can go more than 5 year is awesome! Such my Oppo F3 but i only use for secondary phone, because nowadays app is quite heavy for old phone.
And you know if you said this, they will go other reason "we got AI" 😂 ,even my Vivo got AI now, last 2 years Vivo never called it as AI in setting but because of samsung AI now Vivo rename it to AI 😓
I would love to see the game results on fold 6 and vivo
Both run better and after 30 minutes it doesn’t shut you out of gaming due to overheating 🥵 Xiaomi will fix this but for now I can’t recommend it for gaming.
Overheating because you run unnatural tests on it for games?? No one else did that, better Ui? My note 20 ultra has a greenline due to hardware issues and its a common problem for YEARS!
Chris, Where is the Honor Magic V3 ?
I’m waiting for the global version now as that is the model most will buy.
Compare vivo x fold 3 pro and ss zfold 6 speakers, which one is better?
It’s in my xfold 3 Pro Vs Z Fold 6 comparison and the Z Fold 6 speakers are so much better th-cam.com/video/ySQm8yErFyg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Y6o4ulwzfkTZ_O2e
comparison cameras 👌
Okay the first to ask for it so far no interest!
Yes pls
@@Techtablets True. Hoping to get better.
Same mistake as previous one, the front facing camera at the wrong side
much sacrifice made for that slim profile. I guess, xiaomi targeting females in Asia who wants flagship phones but not Apple
Why the review is focus more only on Xiaomi Mix Fold 4?
Because its' the Mix Fold 4 Vs the competition and more of a Mix Fold 4 review as I have covered the other two in 4 videos.
The 25W charger is for battery safety i think... Its slower than others but makes the battery better in long term use....
Here in Australia, we don't get anything. Anyone want a flagship phone, there is apple and samsung, no more. So depressing here.
Yeah same as NZ, but we did have Oppo. Rumored to be coming back next year to Aust and NZ plus globally.
Thanks for your videos.
so vivo has a purple/pink screen
Battery?
Samsung is the best quality and software wise. Not to mention repair and warranty support in the USA
