That’s awesome buddy, great vid. Totally thinking about doing this now. Wonder how to incorporate sounds with animations…… well, down the rabbit hole I go.
Would you recommend this setup to someone looking to jump into the projection mapping game? I've become fed up with how much I've spent on LED lights just to have to replace them every year. The LEDs last forever but they still use the cheapest smallest leads that corode and fail quickly. This looks like a great alternative
Yeah, this is the simplest software and system available (IMHO). It's not without some complexity and challenges, since this is such a new thing for residential use. But this is a simple way to get into it.
I see the icon that says Ed projector. Can you use multiple projectors to map the same house? Can they be linked together? So that your only editing software from the standpoint of one location? In my house there is a tree in the way so the only way I could completely cover the entire house would be with two projectors. Light form does not enable you to use two projectors. Yes you can buy two projectors and use them independently but that’s a bit of a pain.
Luxedo can't do this yet. I would think Adobe After Effects can, although I don't what that looks like yet. Maybe just a media device that can connect to multiple displays. Like my multiple monitors at work...
This particular one was the Luxedo v1... I've since upgraded to the v2 with the Optoma zh406st. You can see some comparison videos between the different projectors here th-cam.com/video/csGmAhqGG8Y/w-d-xo.html&pp=gAQBiAQB
Is there a demo available for the software? I wouldn't mind trying it out first before sinking $1700 into it. Also how dark does it have to be for effectiveness?
Do you still use this product on a regular basis? I bought this product for Christmas and after 2 weeks of frustration and working with their tech support dept had to return it. The snap shots from the internal camera were distorted and the rendering time for just a couple simple videos were quite long. Since we are talking about a $1700 product, in my opinion this still need a lot of software and hardware development before its as easy their videos make it seem to setup a high quality full video mapping show.
Yep still using it. Did this live demo recently. And will have some more videos of innovations and improvements they're making, based on user input. th-cam.com/video/vZBZIZa32f4/w-d-xo.html
@@BairdManor thanks yea i have one just didnt know if there was a method people use to secure it so you dont have to watch it the whole time it is running

The number one improvement I think people are looking for in the Luxedo system is brightness and resolution. You can see in these videos and kind of gauge if it's good enough quality for what you are after. But the company is responding to feedback and it sounds like they have a partnership with Optoma. So look for some cool new things from Luxedo soon.

Projection mapped decorating is still an expensive hobby to do at this scale. My main projector (Optoma) was $1100, plus video player, speakers etc. And Adobe After Effects I spend several hundred a year. So definitely a pricey way to decorate. It's not for everyone.
I expect this to get cheaper and more accessible as technology improves. Or folks can go small scale with cheaper projectors and smaller scenes (instead of the whole house)
Hi! When you buy the Luxedo projections system you get the software for free. You only have to pay for the software if you use your own projector. Thanks!

It's quite fun! You can import audio clips too i think
Very Cool! When will you show the final projection on the house?
Since this one was just a quick demo, I wasn't planning on putting it on the house. But I could :)
I look forward to seeing it. You are a pro. :)

What do you use for audio with this? Anything built-in?
It has built in Bluetooth, so you can connect speakers to it. :)
What kind of camera setup are you using to take snap shots?
The built in one, that comes with Luxedo

So do you need luxlink for the auto showtime or is that built into the luxedo projector?
Luxedo has the scheduler. Luxlink might as well,, but not sure.
how are you placing the projector back in the correct place outside.
I spray painted around the edges. Or when in a box have some screws as points of reference
