I have Rota 2 for about a year. This is a great espresso machine, it can prepare better coffee than machines several times more expensive. A bit of practice and the problems you described disappear👍☕
I realize that the last comment was a couple years ago, but I just bought a Rota 2. This espresso machine is awesome! The stand is still the only big problem. Honestly, it sucks. I found, however, that the Rota 2 fits in my Aram stand perfectly! Take the portafilter off the Rota 2, place the top of the Rota 2 onto the Aram stand, then screw on the portafilter. It is as solid as a rock. If Kazak were to make a stand like Aram's, their Rota 2 would be so much better. It goes to another level with the greater stability.
Nice! That was a surprise to see a Rota on your channel. I have a version 1 with a new manometer/valve for over a year now. It's fabulous. I bought it for a half of price of Flair 58. As for espresso quality it's a near cafe quality. Because of the thermal management which I think it could be better, I'm waiting for a new shipment of Flair 58 to make a direct comparison.
Can you preheat the cylinder like in the flair by putting it on top of the kettle? I don't like the idea of wasting water and time to preheat the machine.
Hello, first of all, thank you very much for your video. My question is: can you make a double espresso? And is the espresso made hot enough? And is it sold in Turkey?
Oops. I now see that there are more recent comments than 2 years ago. I am a bit of a Luddite, hence my use of a Rota 2. Kazak tells me they plan to have a USA based distribution center starting this summer. Cheers
I like the Aram because it uses 53mm filters and accessories (which is more standard than 51.6 mm from Rota). I do miss the pressure gauge, but after you get some experience, you can get repeatable great shots (not precisely the same profile, of course).
I'm having a hard time deciding this or flair 58, I understand you've used both, what might be your pros and cons for a daily use machine regarding workflow ease of use? Thanks!
Really interesting video again, thnx! Have a question about your second shot in the white cup: when you hit your mark, you quickly close the valve but the shot seems to be continuing, any idea why?
I was waiting for this video for a while! Thank you! )) By the way, I'm in the middle of making a video about russian ultimate home grinder with 98mm SSP burrs.
I may be able to get one of his grinders in. He was trying to do a run of them but logistically it's a challenge to get it into the USA. One of my friends in Canada has had one of his grinders for a while and has loved it.
Well, someone had to do it. Kazak makes some awesome gear and is totally underrated.
Love their tamper and accessories
Это делает мой муж 😍и он очень любит свою работу 👨🔧
This is a first time I have heard about this company and I am originally from Poland. Well, you live and learn

Great review, I’m buying one this Xmas
Awesome well put together video Brian!!! also finally some quality stuff coming out from Poland, gotta grab one

Would be very interesting to read about your comparison. Will you post in online somewhere?
@@devrim1134 Sure, I'll write it down here when I'll get a Flair 58.
@@pawel.soczewski looking forward to it too! I have the Rota 2 - works pretty well and feels very precision made; but always love to hear comparisons.
Thoughts on the Cafelat Robot?

Hey Brian, do u recommend the rota more or the flair58?
How much? And how can i buy it
Thanks
Try Aram Espresso which is a Brazilian manual espresso machine with a similar design.
I will go and make something like this, looks cool and I need a project for my lathe 😁
Make something cool and I'll talk about it!
What scale are you using? It looks like there’s not much room for a scale with the stand.
I used a Weightman!
Can you do a comparison with the Aram? I know it doesn’t have a pressure bar gauge but I wonder how it compares.
I like the Aram because it uses 53mm filters and accessories (which is more standard than 51.6 mm from Rota). I do miss the pressure gauge, but after you get some experience, you can get repeatable great shots (not precisely the same profile, of course).
I've been loving the Rota 2 as I can use all my post millennium La Pavoni accessories with it!
@@BrianQuan I purchased one after seeing your video. Have had it a few weeks now, still tuning my technique! Curious what accessories you use with it?
@@immakiku WDT, 51mm dosing funnel, and the kazak tamper!

Yes so that is still residual pressure through the espresso puck! The flow of water from the group/screen gets shut off with the valve.

By Arnigus?
@@armLocalhost yes, exactly! How did you guess?

@@BrianQuan hope you'll get it! I'll ask Max (aka Arnigius) if we already shipped anything to SF or other US city.
@@coffeesaurus I don't know any other Russian grinder maker.
I really want this: now that I’m pulling consistently with my Flair 58 I need something that’s more difficult to use (I’m not being facetious!).
Awesome! It will go great with the Lagom Mini I'm planning to win hahaha
Gonna be drawing the winner soon!
First! Espresso shot on the comments
☕️
OK, I'll bite!
How many Poles does it take to turn an espresso machine.
Surprised with all the manual machines you have played with, the Cafelat robot hasn’t been one of them.
I'm gonna be using one soon!
@@BrianQuan looking forward on your opinion about it. I am loving mine. Still so much to learn and improve
Kazak or nomad?
Nomad is more flexible for Kazak has a much more premium experience!
@@BrianQuan thanks Brian! Ordered a nomad for my first espresso attempts, upgrade to kazak if I like it so much
I think I will stick with my new 2021 Olympia Cremina with the pressure profiling kit fitted to it !
