Also a thing, if you pay attention to the small details, the whole 52 volumes, except for the SS and spinoffs like Railgun, are happening in a period of time of only 6 months, and in that short period of time is logical than a lot of new chatracters are not appearing more on stage; as real life goes, those new characters are dealing with thier issues after getting ''evangelioumanized'', and others just wanna live in peace, so people like Himegami can be living chill and the Amakusa have their own work to do, they're not Touma's backup for every time he's in trouble, so it's also logical give more screen time to those who are around Touma or have a direct interest in him, like MisaMisa, Accel and even Ham-man. Not all the cast is made to mandatory be on screen at certain time, this is not s generic story
after watching the a whole season of "a certain scientific railgun" i can happily confirm that Misaka's mind only runs on emotions and she would probably hurt more than fix, due to girl emotion plus physic electricity does NOT go hand in hand💀💀
Love this vid tbh... You know I used to be a toxic Misaka fan but I'm no longer that. I love her as a character and will always look up to her and other admirable characters in the Toaru franchise such as, Touma, Accelerator, and many more!
@@AeonofHorus I think misaka is one of the best written heroine characters out there she feels like a real person her ideals don't feel cheap and it isn't out of some sense of justice like some characters without substance she has moments even in railgun misaka struggles and I think she isn't overpowered to make the universe trivial but at the same time she's really like that though I think index needs to be promoted more in west very underrated series
It's funny how misaka replaced index in popularity as the new seasons came out. She had to overcome her original role of random biribiri tsundere and thanks to her background she got her well deserved fanbase. I personally think the association to sisters arc is key to make any character adorable in the franchise. Example: Accelerator and Last order / Misaki and Dolly. Even Mitsuko Kongou shined in railgun T.
She's pretty much always been more popular than Index, index as a character got a worse reputation cos of her repetitive gags and that the nuances of her character were kinda lost in the anime
@@MetaKnight964 She's the literal poster girl for Academy City and by far the most popular female character in the series. As such she is effectively the poster girl for the entirety of the Toaru universe, far more so than the titular character, Index.
@@timothyvanhoeck233 I haven't seen much of Magical Index, but from what I have seen...Index herself doesn't seem to have much of a character. She also doesn't show up outside of Magical Index. Mikoto shows up in her own series as well as Index's. Even if Mikoto isn't the poster girl for Index, Touma would be a much better candidate for that role than Index.
Misaka is great, because she is still just a child, just as Touma keeps saying. But she really does grow up somewhat during the world war arc. Though Misaki got a lot of love around that time too or shortly before that, so they actually had a good team up imho, despite them not being able to do that much really.
I think it's almost inevitable that in a story with this many characters that the most popular one would be hated because the fans the other characters would be jealous.

I personally love her character she got me into anime lol. I also just have a thing for strong female characters. She seems nice and I find her outbursts to be a nice touch to her character. She’s also humble when it comes to her popularity. I find her love for frogs adorable. Plus I like that when it comes to her feelings she’s not that UwU, senpai anime girl and more fiery, easily embarrassed and awkward. Along with her simple character design it makes her feel more genuine. When it comes to her power she trained hard to reach level 5 and it didn’t just come to her over night that gives me some admiration for her character.😅
The anime made me a fan of her. She has a great character arc, a cool use of her powers, a great group of people around her, she's a cutie, and her show's first op is so good it's still really good to this day. Very recognizable.
Misaka is a very nice character to immerse the viewers into the science side. I think she also has a lot of humanity in herself and there is something really wholesome about how she and Touma compliment in each other and support one another, especially later on in the series. She innovated the usage of electricity in anime to a level that I think few to none can approach. She gained a lot of complexity through time and overall it's good, sometimes very good protagonist, for her series. She is not flawless though. While I love Kamikoto and Mikoto's motivations for standing side by side with Touma, I admit that many girls have more complex romantic backstories (especially Misaki and Ayu). It also would be nice if thought before acting sometimes especially when it comes to Touma (why she doesn't believe in magic yet?!!!). And her mental breakdown after witnessing Magic Gods abiltiies and culminating in her attacking people left and right after not being able to protect Tokiwadai in Element Arc is just... well, sad, and kind of disheartening. I love Mikoto, but when it comes to choosing between her and Touma specifically, I would no doubt choose Touma. Maybe because I am reflective type and Touma, despite being a melee fighter on many occasions, incorporates a lot of thoughts on life and human conditions into his fights.
Why Misaka seems to be suck after witnessing the cruelness of Touma's world? The answer is because of the environment of her life especially in Tokiwadai which is so SPOILED compared to Touma's HARDCORE life

I agree fully with what Aeon has said. Misaka Mikoto is a great character who's the victim of toxic corporation discussions and marketing. Her insane popularity has had both a positive and negative effect on the series as a whole with the two famous cases being the Index Manga had to skip OT2 and OT4 because they wanted to get to the OT arcs where Misaka appears and Touma Kamijou being thrown under the bus several times in games and crossovers with some of them not having him at all. The most famous case is Dengeki Fighting Climax where Misaka Mikoto was a playable fighter but Touma Kamijou was sadly a supporting character due to an excuse that he would be too broken in-game. However, this reason later fell apart when a guy who worked on the game posted on a very famous To Aru Discord channel that Touma could have been made playable but the higher-ups only cared about Misaka and Accelerator. All this pushing and marketing, has given birth to toxic flame wars in the fandom With one side outright hating her, leaving healthy and normal Misaka fans not wanting to follow the series anymore and are scared to dare speak out if they like her. On the other side, you have the toxic side of Misaka's fandom outright saying the series sucks other than Misaka and Railgun and some even going far as having sexual thoughts about her. I would like to stress, that I'm no Misaka hater nor this is an attack on a Misaka Mikoto fan who is healthy and normal and just generally loves her character and the series. You have every right as a fan to have her as your favourite in the series as anyone does with their favourite character. It's more of a dig at the corporations and Anime/Manga/LN marketing in general, who see the most popular female character as nothing more than a marketing tool for money even going so far as to dress them in skimpy outfits, to get the wrong kind of people to throw their whole life savings on a figure/art to fulfil their sexual illusions (despite theses corporations saying they don't support this kind of behaviour, when their marketing says otherwise).

Or when he was hanging by a ledge and she tried to kill him. Or the time when she tried to kill innocent people in NT17 just because she lost a fight. LN reader's know Misaka is an Immature brat. But seeing all the other cast develop or show new sides of their character. While Misaka stays the same cool bad ass tsundere who only beats weaker opponents gets kinda boring. Especially when you compare her to the 3 main hero's.

Fan fact - Misaka was the first tsundere character I saw. She was also the one which led me to watch this series (after getting her tsundere reaction video recccomnded on YT when i was just getting into anime)
I like Misaka because she is the perfect example of that even the most powerfull have there struggels and are only human. She is one of the most powerfull (because magic isn't well known) but she still wants to be treated as what she is a school girl.
I have always loved Misaka as a character and is definitely one of my favorites however I can't help but love the rest of the cast to koroko shiria, accelerator, even some of the villains. Although gensai Kihara is pretty one dimensional he is just the perfect amount of disgusting and hate-able he make a great villain
This might be just me while i did like misaks from index i only really started to love her charter in railgun for many reasons one of them being that she can be left on her own and not around touma i personally dont like the tsundere stuff much so when she isnt being around touma shes aloud to breath and be her own charter.(i also love her power so much its insane lol)
I also prefer it when she's far from touma(although I like that she is loyal as his friend) and her power is really crazy, even though she's not the strongest, she's the most interesting.

To me, every character is better when they are not around Touma. As soon as he shows up, they all just act their worse. Mikoto is the best example of that. I'm anime only though and I just finished Railgun T.
Kuroko is a great character too. she's very flawed but cares about her friends, and will not think twice about risking her life to save them. She's also way smarter than she acts, because you have to be to calculate multidimensional vectors whenever you teleport.
All espers in Academy city are geniuses. As espers need to perform complex calculations to use their powers. Heck even the non espers like Frenda are way above the intelligence of what they should have.
Ngl its quite rare finding Aradia enjoyers thats based, many people seem to have a nice opinion on her but it kinda hurts you have to be super caught up with the story 😔
About the kuroko spinoff that never happened, I think that she's a very underrated character. When she isn't being a misaka simp she can actully be a pretty interesting character, and i think her place in the toaru world gives her a very unique perspective that i wish we could see more of.
Railgun was the first anime I ever watched, in fact I absolutely despised anime before I saw Railgun, yet after watching some changed the way I viewed anime and it is still my favourite after over half a decade of watching anime. She is an awesome character and without her idk if I would have gotten into anime at all
My problem with Misaka rn in the novels is that I feel like so much more can be done, in both her powers and character that even though I enjoy when she shows up, I'm still disappointed. Also I feel like the Jailbreak arc had a pretty uh...shaky ending the current arc in railgun juat doesn’t interest me and it's taking forever to go somewhere imo.

As a Misaka Fan I usually ignore some bad comments about her by her haters or toxic fan of To aru, its childish to argue to people who doesn't want to hear others opinion. I don't mind about fans who critique her character as long as its their pure observation (not toxic) and it really does have a point cause I know her character is not perfect she also have flaws its normal. Well i'd say misaka is more charismatic than Tôma, this guy may be a badass but he have the charisma of a sponge . . . i know he do awesome things and sometime save misaka's ass like (spoiler) when she have artificialy evoluted and cannot control her own power he was here to help her. anyway i'm a fan of kanzaki kaori
Her antics don’t really bother me that much. I think Misaka does have some kind of soft spot for her, why else would she keep her around for so long? Maybe she’ll get that spin off of hers someday and truly get to shine.
Considering how she is used for comedy 90% of a screen time we only See her act as her own character very rarely when her Obsession is put in the background. Most of the time she just kills the Immerhin with her honestly creepy antics.

Although my favourite character in the whole series is Kuroko, I still very much like Misaka as a character and still enjoy her journey through out the series.

Hello Aeon, i'm wondering will you make a video about the kihara family one day ? Since they are probably the most interesting and recurrent antagonists in science side, being the mad scientists without ehtics and moral. And they can beat level 5s, even accelerator the goat (well i don't think they can in the end of NT and GT) without using esper power, they are still a force to recon with. Without speaking about fighting or destructive power , it would be interesting to know about they role in academy city and their goals. Just an idea for a future video.
I mean she isn't as developed as Accel. Nor as complex as Touma. Misaki, Kuroko and Touma are good character's but around Misaka they just turn bad. Touma turns into a asshole, Kuroko turns into a pervert and Misaki, I'm pretty sure most of the source material fans pretty much hate the MisaMisa team up and her fans are toxic AF. So it's pretty understandable that she gets hate by the serious part of the fandom. Who aren't into waifus and just want good storytelling.
I am surprised that people hate her because of these reasons. Maybe for me I'm very happy to see her all time because I like her personality, design and power. I started watching Toaru because I've seen her so many times and I liked her design , but I didn't know that she can manipulate electricity😳, but once I found one video that has the title of " Strongest electromaster " then I immediately started the first episode of index because I like electricity and electrical power, so she successfully met all my criteria for the best anime character ever⚡️
The people who dislike her really don’t bother me. Normally I’m not a big fan of Tsundere’s but I just really like her for whatever reason maybe because she’s more then just “You baka I don’t like you!” Especially in Railgun. I don’t even ship her with anyone, I don’t in ship much in general. I feel like I’m part of the bizarre few who likes the clones even more then her. At the end of the day though I’ll stay a fan of hers.
I'm pretty sure the people who hate Misaka love the clones. The clones are beloved by both Railgun and Index fans. I think because how they are important to the plot and they actually did something for Touma and Accel when they were at their lowest.

Honestly early on when I was watching the anime jumped between railgun and index I hated her attitude towards Touma and seeing how she acted around her friends or other males that weren’t Touma it was just so frustrating for me at first. Now with less appearances I’ve become quite neutral on the character.
Don't ever change your off the rails comedy and assorted out of the blue interjections. It is absolute gold and always makes my day lol. Misaka is good but definitely not my favorite character. Accel will always be #1, with Touma being a pretty close second. Like any character., Misaka can be annoying at times but that is the same with most any character. She deserves the spotlight in her own way and is a solid character. People obsess over pretty much anything but I have never understood why she made people go bananas. As for shippers, I guess we all can be that way sometimes. If the quality of the Index anime series in roughly 2008 had been as good as Rail Gun then I am betting things would be a lot different in the popularity factor. Anime always brings in new fans and poorly done anime breeds discontent. Hmm, as for shippers, I think after what I have learned and read about Misaki, ( in part thanks to you Aeon ) I think she is just as good and perhaps even better pairing due to the "lost love" for Touma then Misaka is. Yeah Misaka has her good parts and she also has her flaws. I didnt really mind the electric stunt with touma until she electrocuted him while he was shot and bleeding out and the guilt of that wasnt enough to stop her. I will admit she does have a couple good traits
I like her as a character but honestly she is not my favorite in the series. She has a tomboy , sporty, cool girl and also can be gentle sometimes but I find it quite common because many girls in real life does share similar personality as her. It’s not “ rare “ enough for me to admire her as a character I prefer Kuroko more because she is so comedic , it’s really hard to find girls like that who is a comic relief .yet she also has serious side and willing to give her all not only protecting her friends but also the entire city you actually feel bad when seeing it’s actually quiet hard to find in the entire anime franchise. Usually perverts in anime mostly men . And often doesn’t get treated seriously and only use as comic relief Very few anime you actually see a pervert being a girl , treated seriously and also works for the police force . Personally, Kuroko is my favorite character from the franchise. She's hella funny and very cute. But she also has a badass side and she's been put though so much shit if you think about it. Shocked, Shot, Stabbed (several times), Broken ribs, memory whipped, head injuries, broken neck. And even after all that she remain very cute. She may unfortunately be a lesbian (for now) but I find her obsessions that ends ins failure very funny. Misaka is my second favorite though, so you Misaka fans don't have to be upset.
I just hope Kamachi actually does something with her character in the next volumes rather than aborting like in nt15, though she has been reliable help for Touma since acquiring the AAA. On a sidenote god am I bored of all the Tokiwadai manga spin-offs. Giant city with characters like Kakine and Tsuchimikado and we focus on a couple of ojous in a small corner of the city.

It's crazy how popular she is eventho she rarely appear in Index LN till Kamachi sensei release Railgun LN. And even then she still appear once in a while till NT and GT. Oh well, i'm an avid Othinus stan.

She was originally going to be the mc of the spinoff funny enough but editorial and Kamachi decided to change it in favor of Misaka. Dont worry whenever Kuroko shows up in the novels (specially recently in GT) shes been great 🙌
Tsunderes were on a high when Index released (Zero no Tsukaima, Hidan no Aria and all that), and she is actually a nice twist on the trope. Even when you dont like her compared to other characters from the franchise (and I dont) she is on a league of her own when compared to the her rivals from other series, be it from early 2000's or nowadays.
from my view that i have my eyes on her since 2015 and be someone that actually likes her, she's like a normal girl that can actually fight by her own without any helpful from men (but i know touma still help her for her main troubles) and i barely see girls in anime that can 'fight' or have such op powers. i don't like her tsundere and bad behaviors when she's around touma it's so unnecessarily when she can be a better character than that. i hope kamachi doesn't ruin her character more and finally give her some buffs or has a character development
My problem with her is she doesn't freaking grow out if it all of the characters (Touma included) get excellent character development but by GT Mikoto is still the same childish bratty tsundere she was from the getgo (mixed with a denial of reality and putting Touma on some grand hero pedestal that doesn't represent who he is at all). I wish she would just have some CD is that too much to ask come on let her character grow up a little bit.

Personal opinion but I think the only characters I like in Railgun are Misaki and Kuroko ( when she's not in "onee samaa" mode😅 ). I Don't really click with Misaka as a character ( she has her moments for me though, and has some of the best fight scenes in the show ). Uiharu and especially Saten to me, are there just because ( I know they have critical roles but I honestly couldn't care less ). All in all I enjoy the actions in the show but not much the slice of life aspect.

Mikoto shows up in her own series as well as Index's. Even if Mikoto isn't the poster girl for Index, Touma would be a much better candidate for that role than Index.

Misaka is great, because she is still just a child, just as Touma keeps saying. But she really does grow up somewhat during the world war arc. Though Misaki got a lot of love around that time too or shortly before that, so they actually had a good team up imho, despite them not being able to do that much really.

I personally love her character she got me into anime lol. I also just have a thing for strong female characters. She seems nice and I find her outbursts to be a nice touch to her character. She’s also humble when it comes to her popularity. I find her love for frogs adorable. Plus I like that when it comes to her feelings she’s not that UwU, senpai anime girl and more fiery, easily embarrassed and awkward. Along with her simple character design it makes her feel more genuine. When it comes to her power she trained hard to reach level 5 and it didn’t just come to her over night that gives me some admiration for her character.😅

Misaka is a very nice character to immerse the viewers into the science side. I think she also has a lot of humanity in herself and there is something really wholesome about how she and Touma compliment in each other and support one another, especially later on in the series. She innovated the usage of electricity in anime to a level that I think few to none can approach. She gained a lot of complexity through time and overall it's good, sometimes very good protagonist, for her series.
She is not flawless though. While I love Kamikoto and Mikoto's motivations for standing side by side with Touma, I admit that many girls have more complex romantic backstories (especially Misaki and Ayu). It also would be nice if thought before acting sometimes especially when it comes to Touma (why she doesn't believe in magic yet?!!!). And her mental breakdown after witnessing Magic Gods abiltiies and culminating in her attacking people left and right after not being able to protect Tokiwadai in Element Arc is just... well, sad, and kind of disheartening.
I love Mikoto, but when it comes to choosing between her and Touma specifically, I would no doubt choose Touma. Maybe because I am reflective type and Touma, despite being a melee fighter on many occasions, incorporates a lot of thoughts on life and human conditions into his fights.

I agree fully with what Aeon has said. Misaka Mikoto is a great character who's the victim of toxic corporation discussions and marketing. Her insane popularity has had both a positive and negative effect on the series as a whole with the two famous cases being the Index Manga had to skip OT2 and OT4 because they wanted to get to the OT arcs where Misaka appears and Touma Kamijou being thrown under the bus several times in games and crossovers with some of them not having him at all. The most famous case is Dengeki Fighting Climax where Misaka Mikoto was a playable fighter but Touma Kamijou was sadly a supporting character due to an excuse that he would be too broken in-game. However, this reason later fell apart when a guy who worked on the game posted on a very famous To Aru Discord channel that Touma could have been made playable but the higher-ups only cared about Misaka and Accelerator.
All this pushing and marketing, has given birth to toxic flame wars in the fandom With one side outright hating her, leaving healthy and normal Misaka fans not wanting to follow the series anymore and are scared to dare speak out if they like her. On the other side, you have the toxic side of Misaka's fandom outright saying the series sucks other than Misaka and Railgun and some even going far as having sexual thoughts about her.
I would like to stress, that I'm no Misaka hater nor this is an attack on a Misaka Mikoto fan who is healthy and normal and just generally loves her character and the series. You have every right as a fan to have her as your favourite in the series as anyone does with their favourite character. It's more of a dig at the corporations and Anime/Manga/LN marketing in general, who see the most popular female character as nothing more than a marketing tool for money even going so far as to dress them in skimpy outfits, to get the wrong kind of people to throw their whole life savings on a figure/art to fulfil their sexual illusions (despite theses corporations saying they don't support this kind of behaviour, when their marketing says otherwise).

Kuroko is a great character too. she's very flawed but cares about her friends, and will not think twice about risking her life to save them. She's also way smarter than she acts, because you have to be to calculate multidimensional vectors whenever you teleport.

About the kuroko spinoff that never happened, I think that she's a very underrated character. When she isn't being a misaka simp she can actully be a pretty interesting character, and i think her place in the toaru world gives her a very unique perspective that i wish we could see more of.

My problem with Misaka rn in the novels is that I feel like so much more can be done, in both her powers and character that even though I enjoy when she shows up, I'm still disappointed.
Also I feel like the Jailbreak arc had a pretty uh...shaky ending the current arc in railgun juat doesn’t interest me and it's taking forever to go somewhere imo.

As a Misaka Fan I usually ignore some bad comments about her by her haters or toxic fan of To aru, its childish to argue to people who doesn't want to hear others opinion. And they can beat level 5s, even accelerator the goat (well i don't think they can in the end of NT and GT) without using esper power, they are still a force to recon with.

I mean she isn't as developed as Accel. Nor as complex as Touma. Misaki, Kuroko and Touma are good character's but around Misaka they just turn bad. Touma turns into a asshole, Kuroko turns into a pervert and Misaki, I'm pretty sure most of the source material fans pretty much hate the MisaMisa team up and her fans are toxic AF. So it's pretty understandable that she gets hate by the serious part of the fandom. Who aren't into waifus and just want good storytelling.
I am surprised that people hate her because of these reasons. Maybe for me I'm very happy to see her all time because I like her personality, design and power. I'm pretty sure the people who hate Misaka love the clones. The clones are beloved by both Railgun and Index fans. I think because how they are important to the plot and they actually did something for Touma and Accel when they were at their lowest.

Honestly early on when I was watching the anime jumped between railgun and index I hated her attitude towards Touma and seeing how she acted around her friends or other males that weren’t Touma it was just so frustrating for me at first. Now with less appearances I’ve become quite neutral on the character.

Accel will always be #1, with Touma being a pretty close second. Like any character., Misaka can be annoying at times but that is the same with most any character. She deserves the spotlight in her own way and is a solid character. People obsess over pretty much anything but I have never understood why she made people go bananas. As for shippers, I guess we all can be that way sometimes.
If the quality of the Index anime series in roughly 2008 had been as good as Rail Gun then I am betting things would be a lot different in the popularity factor. Anime always brings in new fans and poorly done anime breeds discontent. Hmm, as for shippers, I think after what I have learned and read about Misaki, ( in part thanks to you Aeon ) I think she is just as good and perhaps even better pairing due to the "lost love" for Touma then Misaka is. Yeah Misaka has her good parts and she also has her flaws. I didnt really mind the electric stunt with touma until she electrocuted him while he was shot and bleeding out and the guilt of that wasnt enough to stop her. I will admit she does have a couple good traits
I like her as a character but honestly she is not my favorite in the series. She has a tomboy , sporty, cool girl and also can be gentle sometimes but I find it quite common because many girls in real life does share similar personality as her. Personally, Kuroko is my favorite character from the franchise. She's hella funny and very cute. But she also has a badass side and she's been put though so much shit if you think about it. Shocked, Shot, Stabbed (several times), Broken ribs, memory whipped, head injuries, broken neck. And even after all that she remain very cute. She may unfortunately be a lesbian (for now) but I find her obsessions that ends ins failure very funny. Misaka is my second favorite though, so you Misaka fans don't have to be upset.

Even when you dont like her compared to other characters from the franchise (and I dont) she is on a league of her own when compared to the her rivals from other series, be it from early 2000's or nowadays.
from my view that i have my eyes on her since 2015 and be someone that actually likes her, she's like a normal girl that can actually fight by her own without any helpful from men (but i know touma still help her for her main troubles) and i barely see girls in anime that can 'fight' or have such op powers. i don't like her tsundere and bad behaviors when she's around touma it's so unnecessarily when she can be a better character than that. i hope kamachi doesn't ruin her character more and finally give her some buffs or has a character development

My problem with her is she doesn't freaking grow out if it all of the characters (Touma included) get excellent character development but by GT Mikoto is still the same childish bratty tsundere she was from the getgo (mixed with a denial of reality and putting Touma on some grand hero pedestal that doesn't represent who he is at all). I wish she would just have some CD is that too much to ask come on let her character grow up a little bit.

Hay un fanfic llamado "misaka 1000" que trata sobre un tipo que reencarna como un clon de misaka , ironicamente despues de haber sido asesinado por un clon de misaka y aun mas ironico el hecho de que pudo unirse a la red misaka gracias a una habilidad que proboco muerte al forzarlo a estar en un lugar en el que no se suponía que estuviera "contrato paradoja"

What a drama lol misaka is just popular, she is not hated as you make her out to be, she is more popular than touma, accelerator, othinus, Index

Personal opinion but I think the only characters I like in Railgun are Misaki and Kuroko ( when she's not in "onee samaa" mode😅 ).
I Don't really click with Misaka as a character ( she has her moments for me though, and has some of the best fight scenes in the show ).
Uiharu and especially Saten to me, are there just because ( I know they have critical roles but I honestly couldn't care less ).
All in all I enjoy the actions in the show but not much the slice of life aspect.
