Great job Polaris ... I do prefer the manual... but I am happy they added a auto, although they should have added paddle shifters hopefully they will for 2021
@Mido Alex I share one and my freind paid under 23k for it years ago.Its a niche vehicle and on a nice day is great and way easier and less stressful and safer then a bike. You can enclose them now which is what I would recommend to stop debris and bugs from hitting you--and it gets looks and folks come up to it like you are in an exotic. And you are right get one used--they are actually very reliable.
I wouldn’t buy one for at least 5 years because of the Polaris design engine! Love the front headlights and the new interior but the GM power train is the only reason i bought a 2019 instead!

Other reviews have not had good things to say about the brakes. Also, as for the Automatic Transmission opening up larger markets, don't you still have to have a motorcycle endorsement on your license to legally operate? If so, it would seem that for people that can't be bothered to learn a manual shifter, they are surely not going to get their motorcycle endorsement so they can drive an automatic slingshot.
I read that over 90% of new cars are sold with the automatic transmission. Having the automatic transmission would appeal to way more people. I would go with the automatic.
looks good Polaris should've come up with an optional 4-wheel conversion kit straight from factory that would be so much more convenient than looking at aftermarket alternatives and could attract even more people imo
I have the previous model slingshot. Even for the better looks, I wouldn’t give up the manual shift. That was horrendous! What’s even more horrendous was I sent Parker a dm inquiring about where the 63 went so I could purchase it. I really loved the livery. The cars is perfect! But I guess he’s to busy to get back to anyone. Still enjoyed the video.
You’re an idiot. You can’t supercharge it it won’t put the power down there’s a reason they have 206HP. We don’t use the brakes we downshift and don’t need bigger brakes because the vehicle is so light. I’m sure we will find you wrapped around a telephone pole in some vehicle you modded.
Thanks for the video - Watch your audio levels though. @2:49 - if you adjusted the volume to a good listening point for the first two plus minutes, the level jump here will be _very_ loud, if not painful. I agree it's a bit overpriced, and just a tad (!) too ostentatious. I'm guessing all that extra bodywork could be simplified down to a $20k trike, which would be much more attractive both financially and aesthetically. So.. helmet.. since they aren't required for the Slingshot anywhere in the US... just for effect, or to keep the wind off your mic? :-)
In Arizona where you filmed this, that vehicle is considered an AUTOCYCLE and can be operated with a class C license therefore NO HELMET is required ...

Test drove one. Turned around after 3 minutes and gave it back. What a load. The lack of traction would normally be cool. Not in this thing. It was chump. Maybe the new and improved models are better?

An "automated manual," which is the term he used several times, is a manual transmission where the clutch is engaged and disengaged automatically but the driver still shifts (such as with paddles). Edit: Just googled it. It's indeed a full automatic, just with internals closer to a standard gearbox with no torque converter, so "automated manual" is a misnomer. Nothing "manual" about it. It's sloppy, jerky, slow, frustrating, and delivers ill-timed gear changes that don't allow you to take full advantage of revs, according to reviews.
He states the slingshot does not have paddles. It is an automated manual. it shifts for you. Not an automatic transmission as that would have been too much weight.

$30,000? I can think of a few better fun and safer cars you could buy with that kind of money. Think they should stick with ATVs. Not impressed with their own engine...worked at a Polaris dealership and seemed to have a lot of engine failures.
You have driven so many but there are some better versions of trikes then that I have seen pretty upgraded previous gen only because it was a group of older gentleman and his wife and 20 of them going through Wisconsin and some were kind of cool because they were old school Harley people and muscle car people so they found the most interesting ways to upgrade them but I feel there are much better equivalent vehicles of the type

I would change the transmission to a dual clutch with paddle shifters, supercharge it, bigger brakes and a bigger better back tire.
