@@cashxx Its nor just the cool factor dude. A regulse Cruiser bike can cost easily 20k+. The sling is unique and fun to drive. Yes the materials are not all premium but honestly i think its worth it. I bought my 17 SLR for 18000 barely used and dont regret it one bit. They have a unique thing thats why they start at 20k. Only the highest trim is 30,000. Lamborghinis and ferraris cost 300k upwards and nobody says anything. The reliability of those cars is shit and the materials are questionable at best.
These things are CRAZY FUN!!!! Highly recommend for everyone! Handling is amazing! This is not an everyday driver, its the ultimate toy. The 5 speed manual is the way to go. There's nothing like driving this and ripping through the gears. Burn out for days!!!
If you treat it like a motorcycle (like its classified as) then just leave it in gear and turn it off. Unless it's like a car, where it wont let you turn it off while it's in drive. I'm used to leaving my bike in 1st so it doesn't roll while on an incline, but like most bikes it wont turn on unless it's in neutral or I'm holding the clutch and brake. Dont know if this works the same way or not. The manual version might.
@@zero00044 You can't, theres no way too control the clutch. It is an automated manual transmission, it is very much an automotive transmission, nothing like a bike.

Ask any Slingshot owner... Poor build quality is the norm for these things... Not only are they built to travel trailer standards, they depreciate like travel trailers.. Long term reliability is terrible.. Its worth $10,000 max for the top tier model. $30,000-$35000 is a joke.. Very honest and well done video..
I’ve had my slingshot for maybe 3 years. I bought it used. This year we replaced the original battery from 2015. Had no trouble on the 1400 mile trip I just got back from.

@@carpathia3882 the battery was the original 2015 battery we replaced it in November 2021. It was tough to replace because of where it is and the corrosion. I rode 1400 miles, to Florida. We’ve owned this 3 or 4 years, we don’t drive it daily but we’ve had no mechanical issues.
That's ridiculous how they want to put the automatic in there why even have an auto that's crazy it's meant to have fun a feel the car and the manual should be the way to go.
Why not have both? Whats the issue? If they have manual and automatic then you would just choose which one you want. Seems like that would be a thing everybody would like.
I think it’s worth the price I mean it’s a sweet ride. RzRs cost roughly the same if not more. Just wish it was faster. My CBR 500 is about the same speed, so not impressed by the engine which is definitely a kill shot for me..
Specialized motorcycles (dirt bikes, snowmobiles, jet skis) have been very successful because they have a purpose. The Slingshot doesn't have a real purpose beyond announcing "look at me" to other travelers. By far my favorite part of motorcycles is shifting. Take that away and it is half the fun.
I have a slingshot with a 5 speed . Its great. I drove it 1400 miles from the my home in the Midwest to my winter home in Florida yes people stared cause it snowed one day it was 45 degrees. It did warm up I’ll have it there in january to drive the coast. I tried to rent one last year it was over 100 miles and 200.00 a day.

Not knocking your riding skills but having a passenger on the back and their weight distribution is much less prevalent on heavier bikes, my bagger weighs 830lbs by its self and unless shes 130lbs or heavier I dont even notice them on the back
This may be a silly question but it has the buttons for the transmission, if you were to be driving and say something was the hit the button into reverse would it shift or is there something preventing it like a clutch?
It's a manual transmission with a clutch and both are operated by a computer. The computer won't let you shift into reverse while you're driving. It's the same transmission and clutch as the manual, just with computer controlled modules bolted on. For 2021 they have shift paddles on the steering wheel. Source: I work at the plant in Huntsville, AL where they're assembled and I verified that with a quality auditor.
Because then it would be regulated as a car. The 3 wheels makes it fall under the Autocycle category, thus it only has to adhere to motorcycle regulations.
“Best chick magnet” I live in destin Florida and they rent these out along the beach all the time and i’ve only seen a couple women that liked it. It’s mostly dudes that are 45+ years old that have never owned a motorcycle that love these things
I love my slingshot, love it, but I do 100% agree that's it very overpriced, I have a 2023 R 5 Speed manual, and I have a few complaints such as it feeling really cheaply built and the HeadUnit being utter crap, with a really shitty cpu. My backup camera used to be 60 Fps and is now 24 Fps with an Update, I wish I could go back to the previous sytem update

I work at Polaris and I am one out of a few that puts the motors together they're very small but all and all them slingshot can get up and go.

Every Slingshot has Miles to empty in various readouts. You can even put it on the speedo cluster along with multiple screens on the lcd.

i have owned both19/20r like the 2020 better mine is the R and the slingshot mode does shift harder and to me is way better than comfort.
