Some would say to much info 😉😂 other anglers just dont go into this depth really at all they just want to promote their brand or favourite rig or new pop up, how ever most people won't listen to this or even understand what he's saying and will ignore it and continue to follow the fashion, turn up choose a swim 20 spombs over some gravel and job done 😂 more fool them, I've loved this series and have used alot off this previously in my own fishing take note it works 👌🏻

The optical calorie explanation is simply genius
I agree with what you say about the fact that catching carp upon seeing them usually works out. But to be fair, big quantities of carp and big fish as well as consistent catching is often achieved by spots that are baited consistently. Of course, these need to hold carp in the first place (well on a lake, on a river carp just travel almost anywhere). For instance in my parklake fishing, I noticed yes, I can catch one or two carp when I see them and catch them, let's say on an overhanging tree or something. But when you catch one or two carp in these features, it's basically over as the others spook. On the contrary, establishing a baited area (can be quite large) and fishing it with two rods on the spot has resulted in substantially larger catch-rates and bigger fish - often from quite monotonous areas, such as simply the centre of a pressured lake or something similar. Personally I do both, when I go stalking I fish more like you describe in the video fishing on showing fish, but what I do prefer is establishing baited areas over a descent period of time and then it does not really matter whether I see fish or not, I am confident enough they visit my spot again and again - when this spot is big enough you can catch multiple carp a day, depending on the stock of course, but it's not like they spook completely once you hook one fish as opposed to a small feature that holds some fish, that you stumble across whilst stalking...
This is absolutely true, but on any given day the fish might not be on your spot. Always worth have a walk round even if you spend 2 minutes in each swim.

That’s one of the best Adam Penning videos I have seen, in fact probably one of the best Carp videos I have seen. So much information there about watercraft, incredible content, and great to see the highs (What a chocolate coloured common that was!) & lows (That weed footage was amazing). I have learnt so much from that, thank you Mr Penning 😁
This is what real fishing is. The serenity of the place is what every angler enjoy the most unlike those commercial fishing trip under some bridges where you hooked the fish the moment you throw a spoon bait.

Loving this channel I’m a big believer in watercraft as I guest alot and usually in and out and always check barometer readings to see what body of water the carp are holding in
Alright mate, as far as I'm aware the lower the pressure the more comfortable it is for the carp to feed off the bottom, but say on a 20+ acre lake, where half is 4ft deep and the other is 12ft, if the air pressure was HIGH would they only be comfortable feeding of the bottom in the shallow end? I know there's never a right or wrong answer, it just depends where they are on the day I guess 🤷🏼♂️
Only 10 mins in but can you not put a GoPro on Adams head so we can see what he’s looking at, not just hearing the commentary after he’s seen the ‘show’. The film doesn’t need to be ‘David Attenborough’ quality all the time, I’d be more happy with it less cinematic if we could see what he’s seeing.
At 4 mins i felt the same as you John, show us what your looking at for us to see and maybe learn.
John, then we would know as much as them and be making our own vids and been sponsored. Best way is go out there and apply the tips.very good point though.

Hi Adam ive stopped catching every time i'm blanking every time i'm having to break all my APPROACH down and will be using all these vids full of wise wisdom to start again look at everything i'm doing i fish small park pools and for a handful for carp so its hard going i hope i start catching again.

Adam. I find most carp anglers are far too noisy. Even on small waters they slam car doors, and walk right ups to the water. It's so common, sadly the fish take much longer to settle on small waters. I've watched carp swim from one end of the lake to another when anglers arrive, its crazy. Good video lots to think about Adam.

Having been up before first light today, noted where carp were boshing and moved my rods/bivvy to the area but failed to attract a fish, I've now just had a nap and watched this video. Excellent stuff. One question: how often in a session would you move if some fish were already in front of you but you saw others away from you?
Watercraft a wonder full thing,, did mine thirty years ago at ardleigh resevoir not for carp but for the big bream all day Friday before an August bank holiday weekend and I'd got the Tuesday off aswell ,, watched spotted baited up with ground bait with my then killer mix strawberry nesquick in with brown crumb sweet corn red maggots and hemp fired in a huge amount with my catapult very early Saturday morning only just getting light had two cups of tea then sat on my seat box for what seemed an eternity catching bream from ten to thirteen pounds another bream angler lent me another keep net at the end of what was becoming pain full and tiring I'd filled to large keep nets full of double figure bream back then in the day we didn't film or picture our catches just put them all back and i thought that a do great session had a brew and a chat with the angler that lent me another keep net then had a good few hours kip awoke packed up all covered and smelly as you can imagine the other angler asked okay if i fish your swim of course i replied and drove home absolutely cream crackered but with a huge grin on my face ,, mum weren't impressed with my clothes that she duely put in the wash bless her and went off to bed and slept for well i don't know for how long,, happy days and as for watercraft Adam it is imperative was back then and still is.. Best advice for carping loads of people think it's the gear the rig but that's all nonsense.Number one rule stay off your phone 🤳 at fishing :)
Adam on your optical calories thing it isn't as silly as you think. Professional Chess players will burn up to 10,000 calories in a day at tournaments due to the intensity of thought that they're having to do for 8+ hours.
What your describing is the brain burning calories through thought and intense concentration.

Forgotten Paths the video was about Watercraft. We didn’t see much of Adams POV through the film. I would have got more out of the film with a GoPro on Adams head doing a lap of the lake and seeing what he’s seeing and him talking ya through that thought process. I don’t need to see shots of flowers on the bank, there’s not doubting that the guys making these films can use a camera, what I wanting is more from a fishing experience. Too many carp fishing videos now what to be cinematic, I’d prefer something more edgy.

The carp will always vacate heavily weeded area's as night falls. The oxygen levels lessen in the night.
