NEVER drop leads with leadcore helicopter set ups! The fish needs to pull against some resistance to pop the top bead off, try it for yourself with a hand test in water, so if you get cut off after you've hooked a fish, that fish will be towing around leadcore and very often they'll head to snags...DEAD CARP... Even if you've got 50lb line you can get cut off. Think about it lads and lasses, fish safe.
I found with the helicopter set up putting half a pva nugget lightly stuck on the bead helps cushion it on the cast if u want to cast a little mesh bag or stringer with ur rig , the rig don't bust the bead off
I Dont agree on dumping the lead in the lake not only as most of us anglers are not funded or sponsored by companies that give you the leads for pennies or free. And dumping your lead just leads to more crap in the lake. The plus side is if you do get snapped of the fish is not dragging a lead all round the lake causing damage to the fish.
Nice video. With the helicopter set up, not only should the bead slide off the silicon easily but you must test whether the bead can pass over the connection knot between the leadcore and the mainline. That's why the korda no trace beads are very safe.
If it’s not good to shove the rubber tail all the way over the lead clip why do manufacturers make the tail on the lead clip so long? Surely it would make sense to shorten the length of the tail to only allow the required grip and release to take away the human element for fish safety?
ive just returned to carping(boy got the bug) if lead clips are old school, im ancient. i use a lead straight on the mainline(not clips) a small bead to stop it hitting the knot to the hooklength. the hooklength i use is amnesia(from my sea fishing kit) i am using the ronnie system on the hook end and dental floss to fix bait. hardly ever get a wrap around and catch most times out.
I fish for carp in US. For me dropping the lead is not an option as I would rather fish thick mainline and rather not break off to begin with. But my question is... I understand that lead clips are probably more reliable way to drop leads. But lets say one doesn't want the lead to ever drop. Wouldn't that make a helicopter rig the only rig you will ever need? I understand that lead clip systems creates a bolt hook setting effect but a heli rig with both beads positioned all the way down to the lead would do exactly the same. Any reason (short of using pva sticks as they can knock off the heli safe beads on the cast) I shouldn't use helicopters 100% of my fishing?
What's the safest and most effective (in terms of bite conversion) lead system to use IF you don't want to dump your lead for environmental and financial reasons? Anyone....
@Dean Bayliss FISHING TV don't be ridiculous! It's not leads that tether fish it's trailing line! The reasoning behind dropping the lead is to better ensure direct contact with the fish and has nothing to do with fish safety. Maybe it's you that shouldn't be fishing!

This comment needs more attention!!!!
That makes alot of sense
Would have liked to have seen some super close ups of the setups

Never used a chopper never will. And I use 3” fluoro rigs (so stiff) on both inline and lead clips no problems at all
Morning Adam top tip as usual buddy 👏👏🎣🎣
Morning adam what sort of range do u think u could cast inlines pal. With a stiff boom to push away from the lead etc

U use a monkey climber and strike then?
As always gold tips from Adam
Adam don’t you rate the Korda heli tubing kit
Brilliant video 🎣
Great video Adam I usually use a helicopter set up but next time I go I will definitely try a lead clip and tubing thanks
What about fish safety with this leadclip setup?

Whats a up and over inline drop off system?
Great video some good tips there✌️
Are them clips the jrc contact ones?
What rig board is that?
Good to see you at my local water again mate
I must say I've never had any issues using the helicopter with normal rig tubing. Been using it for years. Great vid though 🎣🎣🎣🎣👍👍👍👍👍👍

A proper running rig. Not a lead clip type.
Compromised.
Why dont they make the lead clips shorter? this will stop people pushing them too far on?
Running inline? Htf is the fish hooking itself???
Good explanation, but it will be twice better if you put your camera near to your hands showing what exactly you speak about.
Heli is mega reliable for casting
Mate lead clips are designed to come off even if pushed right on. Normal anglers can't afford to drop leads every cast or every fish. Get a grip lol
It's perfectly possible to jam it on so they won't come off...
Can't believe there are still famous anglers out there recommending dropping lead in our lakes.
Totally agree
Can't believe our environmental agencies haven't called for bans.
@@Smudgie I think they don't really know about this practice.
@@danielpolsinger7565 You might be right.

👌🏻👌🏻
Bounce the rig after the leads been dropped. Bet the bead don’t come off the lead core then !
Love Penning and his carp skills but his questionable stance on Covid slightly less
Close up woulda been nice
