- 1987 Inductee Aretha Franklin performs the song "Don't Play That Song (You Lied)" during the 25th anniversary concert for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2009. She also performed the same song at the 2007 Rock Hall Induction Ceremony honoring Ahmet Ertegun.

I was a 12 year old kid in liverpool just getting into motown when my cousins told me about this fantastic singer you just gotta listen to ,boy where they right ,what a voice I have never heard anything like it ,she had such fabulous tone and range ,as I grew older I learnt to appreciate what a beautiful person she was , thank you Aretha ,you have given me so much joy
