If Bryce continues this trajectory going forward this would be an unprecedented turnaround. Name another QB who got benched and turned around his career on the same team within the same season.
I was never a Bryce “hater,” but was a huge doubter. The one thing about him his rookie year that shocked me was his durability - the OL struggled, Bryce was pummeled over and over again, and yet he kept popping right back up. Sitting out for a few weeks was the best thing for Bryce - he could see the game live from a more objective perspective. I’ve been very pleasantly surprised by how well he’s played since coming back. If not for a handful of key drops by receivers, Bryce’s numbers would be more impressive, and the team would probably be looking at 2-3 more wins. (Not to mention the difference a close to mediocre, instead of historically awful, defense would have made.)
I’m not saying the Panthers had even an average defense but they had some major injuries , most importantly their run stopping hoss Derrick Brown in the middle . Everything on defense starts at nose tackle .
@@natashatomlinson4548 nah id say they had a average defense, last year if the offense was better we wouldnt have gone 2-15 lol. but yea injuries killed the defense
And Panthers actually played more players than any other team. Just shows how real the injury problem is. Been heavier than normal injuries for a few seasons now, it seems. Time for some strength training changes or something.
As a Panthers fan, it is so nice to see Young having success. He’s a world class guy and it would have been a bummer if it didn’t pan out on the field. Also you left the sweet shuttle pass off in OT.
I don't understand why Bryce is not a candidate for comeback player of the year! I don't know all the requirements of the reward, but imo Bryce is without question the most deserving. It makes no sense to me that he isn't even being considered!
To get to the playoffs.. Dan Morgan , Canales and Evero are going to have to REBUILD THAT DEFENSE especially the BACKFIELD. FIRST DRAFTEE SHOULD BE A EDGE RUSHER. I’m not sure if Clowney will stay then his age is a factor. Then rebuild the defense from there Evero KNOWS what he needs and wants!!! I wish they’d hire Thomas Davis to add to the defensive coaches especially the linebackers. TD knows how to watch and analyze defensive tape. He learned from Luke Keuchley and the rest is history. When they were in the backfield. The Panthers had the BEST DEFENSE in the league.
Great analysis. One thing you should do to improve your content is know the name of the receivers while you explain. Adam T. & Bryce are the only names you gave recognition the others were acknowledged by jersey number.
@@ChaseDanielShow I’ll say I think #18 Jalen Coker is one to know and keep your eyes on. Undrafted rookie from Holy Cross. Maybe not the fastest guy out there, but he’s a natural hand catcher, plays well in traffic, and has that “dawg” DNA that GM Dan Morgan wants to fill the roster with. Calling back to Panthers past, I can envision him filling a Muhsin Muhammad-type role - big-bodied, reliable, “bring your lunch pail” kind of WR.
If Legette can become a legit #1 and they grab a TE in the 3rd round to be a safety blanket, the sky is the limit. Chuba Hubbard is an excellent complement at the RB position
Armchair QB here :) The last play, I felt like Bryce was acting with the whole "gotta go gotta go" to throw off the defense, because they were all set with 11 on the play clock and they didn't change anything I could notice (I feel like running clock), could not understand what he was yelling but then you can certainly hear "what?" from a couple players, but none of them seemed the slightest confused on the play call.
Missed that very last lil dump off pass he had at the end of the game. That play really showed me how bright the future is in Carolina . Thank you for the breakdown!!
Chase when you split the field down the hash talking about the 4×1, does the OLB not count as a potential coverage man for the defense? He was also on that side of the hash.
@smashmouthleonardit got me dude is trippin and Bryce shouldn’t be able to do this with no wr1 and down his center and guard and down 7/11 defensive players

If they get him some help at receiver and OL I think as a team they will STILL struggle, but I don't think it'll have anything to do with the offense. I believe it'll be because of the defense. They have a HORRIBLE defense. You can legitimately say the defense lost them AT LEAST 3 to 4 games this year.
Exactly, but to be fair Carolina traded away or let go a lot of defensive pieces just to built the offense around Bryce but that'll change in this coming draft.
@@natashatomlinson4548 Yes they got him OL help, but they need more. He got sacked 6 times against the Cowboys and 5 against the Bucs. Yes, compared to last year the OL unit is better, but they still need help.

He's played well since getting the job back. And he was one of only two QBs all year to throw for 3 TDs and run for 2 more in a game, so it's not like every QB is doing this to Atlanta.
Atlanta's defense was average all year. Carolinas was the worst defense ever fielded in the NFL. I do believe if penix stays healthy him and Bryce will have a nice rivalry for years. But I have to point out that you clearly don't know shit.

When’s the last time anyone dialed up a play for an undrafted rookie to throw a ball?
Basically the 49ers with Purdy
