interesting concept using phones for mining, i'm using a lot of ryzen 3900x. What sort of power does the pixel 2 use when mining?
I think 5-6w max. My plan is to get more actual CPUs vs Phones
What you think about a 2017 samsung with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Processor:Octa-core, 2200 MHz, ARM Cortex-A53, 64-bit, 2gb ram making around 4 to 6 mh/z?

I wonder, in terms of energy efficiency / profitability, is it better to use phones vs cpus, gpus, fpgas or even asics? The advantage in using phones vs asics is you can switch to mine more profitable coins anytime. Can't do that with purpose-built asics/fpgas, I think. 🤔 Might make for an interesting future video?
I mean each phone MAYBE pulls a constant 5w, so they usually are always more profitable for CPU minable coins.
I started phone mining because I’m maxed out on my power bill. I have 3 miniDoge merge mining LTC/Doge that’s getting me like 10 Doge a day and also have a LBRY mini box. I can’t afford to run any more asic miners so because the phones are so much less power I thought I can maybe do that until I can start paying myself back next bull run. I’m just eating the electric bill this summer in Florida 😂. F In hot here this month.

I have not, but I know the Moto G Powers are cheap and have a good processor as well. I will look into the pures

Just got confused when you said s7 is quad core, when I looked at gsmarena it says octa core... Then i saw thwy made it different for us market and other markets so in europe is octa-core. Was considering to get one of them or s8 if I can grab them for like up to 10$ to 15$ but seems like even older broken phones started to cost like 25$-30$ in my country its ridiculous.

another good option if you can find a real good deal on them is the LG V30 is almost on par with my Pixel 2
edit: when running the LG V30 in UserLAnd, the Pixel 2 and S9 beat it by a lot
edit 2: also make sure the phone's cpu is 64Bit, I have some brand new phones that are for some reason 32 bit, and verus mining doesn't seem to work on 32 bit

It's kind of hard to do, I have a screenless set up, but I have 1 screen for all the phones and I SCRPY them. You could buy an hdmi usb dongle for your phone and plug in a mouse and keyboard

Well obviously the BEST phone would be a BRAND NEW flagship phone, but for used phones.. its all up to your own personal preference. I choose CAT s48c because they rugged and i think they will last for a long time!

@@marcionero7412 honestly, I have gotten about 6 of my mining phones for free. Just ask your friends if they have any old phones stuffed in their drawers or closet somewhere.. Best place to start.
I just started a phone mining farm and I have three running currently. Two Galaxy S8+ and a Samsung A03. I have 7 other phones I’m waiting to get shipped. Most are LG G8 and LG G7’s. These have 845 and 855 snapdragons in them so I’m hoping to see some good hash with them. So far my average cost for 10 phones is $31. I buy cracked screens and whatever because it just doesn’t matter as long as it can run on WiFi and you can see the screen. I’m hoping to get at least 1 Verus coin per day but will probably exceed that. I’ll update after I have it all up and running if anyone interested.

@@lolPaperclipI didn’t even know that 😂. I just started comparing the processors and I just try to get phones highest tier I can for cheapest I can. The LG’s seem to be going a little cheaper than the comparable Samsungs at least since I’ve been looking. Great channel! I ordered one of those phone racks today.
@@dvrapant I would suggest getting cooling as well.. you can buy cheap $20 UPHERE USB computer fans... My buddy also sells mounts to hold them nicely as well

64 bit is key, 4gb of ram or higher.
Some of my 3gb of ram phones post higher than my 4,gb.. really depends on how the processors are clocked
