To answer your questions. I am in SE Qld and I drive an LC100 Auto or a Suzuki swb Grand Vitara (manual) off road and on road I have a Toyota coaster auto we used for touring and a hyundai hatchback for a daily and shopping center runs and a couple of fun toys. Usually just the missus who is a keen photographer and I when we go away . What we take depends on why and where we are traveling. Took the LC100 to the tip of cape york for sunrise, and the coaster to photograph autumn leaves down south or spring flowers and various sunrises and sunsets. Took the zook to places like Moreton Isl or some of the short trips to national parks and the Cruiser for longer trips.

Great Vid chaps, that only thing I would add to the servicing which I totally agree with & that's check it regularly especially if you work your machine, if it smalls at all burnt or is darker than it should be service it.... I'm at Mt Burrell, the Northern Rivers area NSW & I have a 1999 TI GU, which is my pride & joy, but is used just about every day on my 100 acre property. Keep up the good work,
FYI, maybe let everyone know how/when/if you promote a prize sell merchandise. The scammers are out in full force pretending to be the bearer of a prize from a Chanel. I get an email from the scammers mostly when I leave a comment. Just a heads up.

This is the first time ever I saw Rocket Rod and StuDog in the same video. Never together on 4wd/247. It has cleared up a lot for me. Also good to have more balance between the Nissan and Toyota forces on display between the two and what we may expect to come from their material. It was a bit out of balance for me with all Shauno’s builds, and Graeme sticking with the DMaxes.

From South Wales...UK, drive 03 Ford Galaxy 2.3 auto (mpv), don't camp or off road due arthritis and it's debilitating effects. Not looking for simpathy, I've had fun in earlier years bu to everyone else, let it be a lesson, only on life, live it too the best, just be a little sensible.
Watch because of an interest in auto conversions and you guys are real good characters, came from 4WD24/7 obviously but watch many Australian travel channels for the variation of content, it's an amazing Country you have to explore. We have some real nice places in UK but, you got the weather too!
Oh, never been reported missing 😁. My mate just wishes he could afford to send his old Vauxhall over to you and have you figure out how to change it from an old 3 speed to and 5 speed that has electronics involved.

    Morning Rod and Stu!
NSW Hunter Valley mate, my back door looks at the Watagans.
My work daily is a just a 2011 Territory, but the beach/family car is a 2011 Prado GXL, Auto, 1KD. Prado is stock aside from a set of AT's, she gets me onto Stockton Beach and will pull a few suckers out as well. Kinda wish I got the petrol V6 instead of the 1KD, some major servicing can get expensive. Would rather pay extra fuel weekly than high servicing costs.
Speaking of sealed for life autos BS, my Territory has done some miles (330k; only just aquired/inherited it few months back for work, I'm a truck driver by day) and whilst it had a full service history, some things underneath needes attention. The poor old BTR hasn't been serviced at all. Dropped the 4L out of the pan and man was it black phwarr it bloody stink. Would have liked to flushed out the other 4L+ thats throughout the rest of the box but opting to just replace the 4L in the pan for the next few 10k services instead. She also got a front end suspension rebuild, done myself, which has been good to get back on the tools again.
    Peace! - Mitch.

    Great vid!
Be good to hook back up with 4WD-24/7, one day, but don’t feel any dramas or hurry. I like both the sim and diff and appreciate that you do your own thing. Great answers and honesty!
    Smokey, peaty whisky, lovely.
On the auto servicing / maintenance question does anyone / manufacturer with an auto ‘cool’ them into the main rad (anymore) or does everyone cool into an air cooler? Please answer as it's a common question on a forum I contribute to.
Your questions… In the UK and don’t have an auto but do have a 4WD (it’s a Toyota camper). Off-grid, various, depends.
    Thanks both!

I'm on the Central Coast of NSW and drive a Toyota FJ Cruiser. New to 4WD and want to learn how to drive and look after my auto (give me advice!). Camping is most fun just with the wife and I in a nice quiet secluded Hipcamp.

like the Q&A format. Perth W.A 2008 Navara. The less people around the better. I've been reported missing 3 times I'm pretty sure there will be a 4th and possibly a 5th time.

Love the format, two experienced mechanics discussing 4wds, no commercial crap and a bit of banter. Good stuff. South Coast NSW. Ford Ranger 2017 few mods (great family 4wd fishing and getting about). Put one of your coolers in and what a difference. Instead of running temps around 100 for both engine and trans. now running 86 engine 60 trans. Always been able to find myself, eventually, but had to report a mate and his wife missing once, took the cops about 18hrs to find them. Took him a lot longer to live it down, especially when we looked in the window once we found their car and saw they'd left their mobile phones in the console, in an area with full coverage. Bring on some trips! Cheers PP
