i love this on a personal level because it touched on a feeling i forgot at first madotsuki is watching the toriningens having a party, wishing she could join them and be their friend but we cut to a different dream where her wish is clearly never happening, a hostile toriningen is chasing her. and the music expresses this so beautifully, at first we hear the party music slowly become distorted and cuts off into a completely different much more alert (almost sounds like an alarm, i mean) song in the middle of it's progression, as a listener we wonder why the sudden shift until we see the toriningen, the same character mado was wishing to befriend the other dream. and realize that not only is madotsuki scared of being chased, she is also deeply sad that the people she thought she could find solace in completely dislike her, even in her dreams. the music slowly becomes louder and faster, mirroring what i assume to be the reality catching up with madotsuki, before the toriningen catches up with her, she will never make any friends, she only needs to survive.
